Many congratulations on the introduction of the Gibson Rick Beato Les Paul Special Double Cut. You certainly deserve the honor and recognition this beautiful guitar symbolizes.
Minor arpeggios are versatile in that you can use them over major 7 or dominant 7 contexts, too. Play a minor arpeggio based on the 3rd, and you have a rootless major 7 arepeggio. For example, Em/C = Cmaj7. Play a minor arpeggio based on the 5th, and you have a root + 3rd-less dominant 9 arepeggio. Gm/C = C9 no 3rd. (So it can be applied to minor 9 contexts too.) Play them as minor 7 arpeggios, and you add a further extension: Cmaj9, C11(no 3rd).
Rick, why are these three note arpeggios somehow more pleasing and interesting to the ear than simply hearing the whole chord? It's fascinating to me how it's simple and essentially the same thing, but comes across to the brain as, "whoa, what was that?"
I was scrolling through youtube last weekend, I fell asleep and woke up with this video. I learned this lick while sleeping and it's awesome Edit: this has a very cool Devin Townsend vibe
Those are really nice, emotional intervals. I've heard so many minor 7 arps that sound "robotic" and it might be performed well, but do not reflect much "mood"!
I wish people with minds like this would just fucking come together already and release some good music. Rick Beato could easily put together another Steely Dan type session musician band. 👌
I like to take a song and learn how to play each chord in every position possible. It teaches the fretboard and where to target notes for different sounds. Change one chord at a time or all at once. You will never get lost after a while.
Nice playing as usual, but the way camera followed the fretting hand with those stops made it seem really surreal and almost inhuman. And I just love it.
Per Nilsson! Mr.Beato, if theres one guy that is absolutely breathtaking on guitar that really doesn't get the attention he deserves for his genius its Per Nilsson. Plz if anything check him out. His band is scar symmetry and he truly is great ! You wont be disappointed. 🙏
Rick - Congrats on the signature Gibson Les Paul in your name!! The ice blue color is killer. I just got a GoldTop last month and after I get my Strat, this will be my next guitar.
I have said this before, so I'll say it again - Rick, your guitar prowess is way underrated. I mean you're no Ynwie Malmsteen, but you could easily smoke Joe Perry and about a hundred other "rock stars" in a guitar duel
Keep practicing. I think I heard you play a 3rd and it should have been a flatted 3rd. Keep practicing I'm sure someday you'll get it. The only way you need practice is if you start playing with your feet.
Ummm i swear my yourube glitched and i left a comment complaining about John Oliver lmfao. Anyway this is sick as always and awesome on piano as well :)
Glad too see I’m not the only one practicing this…
Pmsl...x
Very "Eric Johnson" sound. You amaze and inspire, sir.
Yes
Just turned 57 and I've been playing since the 6th grade and I always learn something new from this channel. Thank you Rick!
That last pentatonic descending sequence!! Ohhh that was NICE Rick! But I'm sure you already know that, cuz you played it.
I don’t think I’ve seen a Beato video I don’t like. So talented and generous with his knowledge!
I love and hate how you say "just like that" in equal measure! 😆
Many congratulations on the introduction of the Gibson Rick Beato Les Paul Special Double Cut. You certainly deserve the honor and recognition this beautiful guitar symbolizes.
The one Rick Beato quick lesson I sort of understand.
That's some Eric Johnson stuff right there. Nice!

You can always count on Rick to have something killer to teach or at least entertain and inform. Long may you run sir! Semper Fi

You sir are awesome. 👍🤘

Nice playing as usual, but the way camera followed the fretting hand with those stops made it seem really surreal and almost inhuman. And I just love it.

Rick while playing any minor scale : Gotta hit that Dorian 6th.

Lovely ! I have my next practice routine now 😂

I dont understand anything at all but he is very entertaining
Where can we listen to original music performed by Rick Beato?
Is there a catagory in the Grammy awards for best UA-cam short? I nominate Rick Beato.
Very nice! I am not a musician. But I know what sounds nice.🌹😷
Sounds great
Simple awesome 💛
Anybody else get blasted into "The Crow"'s rooftop solo just now?
I have said this before, so I'll say it again - Rick, your guitar prowess is way underrated. I mean you're no Ynwie Malmsteen, but you could easily smoke Joe Perry and about a hundred other "rock stars" in a guitar duel
Very nice Rick.
When is the signature guitar out?? You said today, can't wait!!
Whoa!!! Zappa territory. So nice!
Other worldly 😳
Keep practicing. I think I heard you play a 3rd and it should have been a flatted 3rd. Keep practicing I'm sure someday you'll get it. The only way you need practice is if you start playing with your feet.
Awsome!
This sounds like the sound of the guitar from The Artful Escape
How can I keep that chord playing constantly in the background?
Got it lol I like this style a little more. D
Sounds killer
Wow that was sick
Like that :)
If only I had the 22nd fret.
Every time this guy says "like that" i feel a bit smarter
Love it.
Rick you need to do a video for Nick Jonston!
Back to my Giutar now , couple years of ( we all know ) now I’m going to get into RB learning programmes ., so good 😊
I want that LP Jr so bad.

Ummm i swear my yourube glitched and i left a comment complaining about John Oliver lmfao. Anyway this is sick as always and awesome on piano as well :)
Nice ending chord 😎
Nice!!!
Those don't look like factory frets. They appear larger. Me like!
What was the first song you played in your new Gibson?
Rick "i am not a guitarist" Beato!! That's the only bullshit statement that ever came out of his mouth! 😂
holy fuck this tone tho
Sick.
Rick how do you make the pads over which you play?
So that cluster of notes after the pentatonic part (just after the bend) is that utilizing these chord extensions as well?

Ok Rick now you're just showing off!
SWEET!!
The most knowledgeable guy guitar wise but the most non
Musical guy I know .
Beautiful
Sounds like Eric Johnson
Fretboard diagram FTW!!!!
It's actually on the fretboard my dude...😎
@@SGobuck Of course, but it helps me visualize the patterns in my head quicker. Like 'bar' view in GP5, because I still use GP5.
That’s cool and all, but tell us about the midnight blue belle guitar homeslice.
In Zappa's style,It sounds to me.
Rick can I request you do a what makes this song great for Pantera - Floods. Like if you agree.
❤️Like that😉
Dig the camera work.
Tasty. Sounds like Steve Vai.
Solo album please
