I welcome any and all game changers that make things affordable for the consumer. Same thing happened with the SFF cases like the NR200 and the Meshlicious which changed the game and offered premium cases for amazing prices and they are competitive against most Mid tower Cases with build quality and cooling. Going from 250-300 to 80-150 is not only better for the industry it is better for the consumer which is really the only thing that matters. Keycaps and Keyboards are just way too over priced and I really hope Boards like the QK65 force that change.
Love to see the Red Jackets getting some love; they're great. As for the board, the sale can't come soon enough. I own a suit, but just for comparison's sake, I'll pick one of these up to see just how far $150 can go.
FIrst - what gets me excited is the value and quality its there where it matters. Usually for budget board there is always this meh but this you can whole heartly recommend to someone if they are interested.
My man giving a shoutout to my boi Clackbait, i like! Awesome review as always and to those who are looking into gettting this board, good luck and enjoy.
I was waiting for your review since the Black Chroma was assigned to you. Glad to see the real thing in a video! 7:32 I had the same experience putting the Red Jackets in my Q1. I feel like the switch housing overall might be a bit too big (I'm talking maybe a millimeter or less), because I had problems with using both plate foam and PE foam on my build. It's still my current favorite switch though, just really good sound and feel out of the packaging.
Pretty hilarious, also indicative of the current explosion of the custom keyboard market, that this "plenty in stock" board sold out in minutes. Amazing video as always!
Yo Brian WELCOME BACK DUDE! Also, when can we expect a new room your?? You still rocking the UPLIFT desk? Any future plans for the room as far as aesthetics/acoustics go? Stoked to have badseed content again!
Holy shit that PE sheet really does a lot for the sound Looks like an awesome board though 👀 I'll miss the knob, though, I like just having a physical adjustment on hand
Unfortunately, the stellar price was only the limited GB pricing. New stock with the unlimited GB is already up to starting at $210 the manufacturer said.
i have mid tier boards like the Wind X65 and KBDFans D65.. those 2 boards are actually keeping me pretty happy right now.. but i still picked up a QK65.. looking forward to seeing how a $150 compared to my $300 ones
Just managed to secure my order a while back. This stuff is selling like hotcake. QK said they will make this "widely available" though so don't pay any scalpers folk! Already seeing a few flippers in Singapore.
Red Jacket switches actually sound great. I’d be very interested to hear your thoughts about the new Gateron Milky Yellow Pros. They’re factory-lubed afaik and personally I don’t like the lubing process lol.
All I need is to a USB hub with one type A port to use with my Yubikey. Then I can have my perfect keyboard, and then I can pull the plug. Also, "full size" alt/fn without right ctrl is superior to "standard".
GMMK Pro, Q1 or MOD007 are definitely not budget unless we consider full aluminum, gasket mounted keebs entry level nowadays. RK84, GMMK etc is what i consider entry level. The QK65 for $150 is a steal no doubt, but equal to $350 keyboards? Not when you have Q2 for $160.
My dilemma right now is that i want to buy either the Keychron Q2 or this one (QK65). Design-wise, i extremely prefer the Q2 (knob, flexible typing feel, exploded layout, case design, brass plate option). But in terms of value and quality, the QK65 wins. What do you guys think i should do? I need help and i can’t ask any of my friends cuz they’re not into keyboards.
I would go with the layout that speaks to you. The Q2 can be easily tape modded to give you a more poppy/marbly sound. You can have the nicest board out there, but if the layout doesn’t speak to the way you use your keyboard, you’ll never feel 100% about it
I can understand you, yesterday I made my decision and I went for the Q2. Personally the Q2 looks better and after modding you can get the qk’s sound. I chose what I like instead of what is better.
@@badseedtech Damn, thank you so much man! I really appreciate your opinion. I would probably go with your suggestion. Love the content btw, keep up the awesome work!
I have the Q2 with PE foam mod and it’s a very similar sound to the QK65. I’m running Aqua Kings so it’s not nearly as high pitched as the config in this video. I like the advice of buying the layout that works for you… it’s why I bought the Mode 80, even at that ludicrous price. The QK looks sweet though.
@@Playburnchannel what mods would you do to get the qk’s sound? To be honest I’m planning on using the brass plate and some holy panda x’s to have that poppy high pitch sound. Then, do some mods to the case to bring down the pitch a bit. Sort of a walmart version of the Fjell with Holy Pandas. What are your thoughts?
3:05 Sounds like y'all have something in common then. Seriously though, I watch all of your videos, even if it's about something I'm not into like high-end headphones or keyboard modding.
@@MrDrfuuuur Yup EU here! thanks I’ve already checked it out.. it’s basically that one and the mode 65 that support this. Considering, Iso keycap sets sell out first every single time a key set drops I think iso hotswap should be more popular among manufacturers.
While gaming companies are too scared to heavily invest in the uncertainty or possible honeymoon phase of this potential hobby, custom keyboard companies did and now they got such a good head start, there will be no way some of the well known gaming companies can compete with this kind of pricing.
I was hyped until I saw the shipping costs and forgot how much that can be with this kinda stuff. Sheesh, it's almost half the price of the case alone. Still considering it though.
This or Freebird TKL? (not minding the difference in layout and mounting style) I own a KBD 67 Lite and want to get my second, this time aluminium, board. Can't decide between the two...
It isn't entirely clear in the video, but the sale is apperently without PCB or Plate, as I understood. You need to buy them separately. Can someone confirm my findings?
The sale will occur in two parts - kit first, plate & pcb after - but the total costs mentioned the video are accurate and include both kit and plate/pcb options.

The 4 handguns things was hilarious and caught me off-guard. Well-played hahaha
But what hand guns? A small 9mm plastic conceal carry? Or a .45 full metal 1911?
It’s only funny cause its true :(
Hilarious indeed hahaha

I'm American and I can confirm that handguns are very commonly used for measuring.
The quality of video is just so impressive! Really good joob! The board is fire

Hey Brian, love the stand you have your LG OLED propped up on, is that thing custom built or is it available to buy somewhere? It's beautiful.
