I made this video about this song with my brother when we shared this UA-cam account when we were 15. Obviously, there's multiple misspellings, confusing grammar and odd annotations. I am aware of these, but I'm leaving the annotations in since they remind me of the "simpler" life. :)

To everyone enjoying the song and the awkward, silly, demented and maybe slightly poor taste annotations, rock on! It's fun to hop on here every 8 or so months, to remember life at a more simpler time. If the annotations really bother you, you have every right to turn them off. I keep them on, because... Well... I miss my brother. He passed away this past October. It's one of the few things him and I worked on together, so I'd like to have our silly/stupid humor remain on the video. I hope you can overlook that. Thank you.

My dad passed away when was very little. Lynyrd Skynyrd was his favorite band so when ever I hear this song I think of him. At first I'm sad and tear up, then after listening to it I feel like he would be "speaking" through the lyrics in a sense. That it was was his time to go and that I shouldn't dwell on his passing. It's a very........ long time since I've listened to this song, and I must say I am totally and pleasantly surprised by the experience I just had by hearing "Freebird" again! The guitar solo is insanely awesome! May Steve Gaines (Lead Guitarist), Ronnie Van Zant (Vocalist) and Cassie Gaines (Vocalist) all RIP - they are well missed.

I like the demented annotations, and you have outstanding taste! THIS is why the youngsters today who like current music need to understand WE grew up with REAL music. NOTHING on the charts in 2023 can come close to any of this. We were spoiled. If we knew how shiddy music would be today, we would have appreciated it more then.

These kinds of songs make me tear up to be honest. I was born in 2000 but wish I was born in '69. I feel like the 80's were such a better time, especially where I live, in the south. Everyone was more friendly, political correctness wasnt a huge fucking deal, cops werent assholes, and you could ride your bike to your friends house 3 miles away in the dark without getting mugged and/or shot. I wish it was back then. :'(
