【岐阜県郡上市】郡上八幡 せぎ板

郡上八幡に残る古い町並みにある用水には山からの湧き水が止まる事なく流れています、江戸時代の初期に当時の八幡城主が作らせたと言われているこの用水は、昭和38年に八幡町の上水道が完成するまでは飲み水以外はすべてこの用水の水を利用していました。せぎ板(堰板)はその用水を自宅前でせき止め生活の為に使用する幅30センチの板です。柳町・職人町は各家庭に板を所有しているところが多く、現在でも水を大切に使い守っています。
