He always had a soft spot for kids when all is said and done. He’s tough, but not a monster. One of the few traits of his humanity he hasn’t locked away in his psyche.
Seeing most of the Batfamily was great 👍 The way they introduced them shows why Bruce would take them in 💯 LOVE the character lore building in this series
Onomatopoeia actually first appeared in a Green Arrow Comic written by Kevin Smith but became a Reoccurring Villain for Arrow & Batman! Also in Nocturna's Episode each named kid shares the name of someone who had the identity of Robin at some point in the Comics! 🤯 Also neat they gave "Jason" Red Hair since originally he had Red Hair but dyed it Black so he could be Robin.
@@NeverOhVer Nope he was a Redhead Pre-Crisis & Bruce had him dye it for the Robin Role. Funny enough they actually tried bringing back his Red Hair for a bit in the Comics to match being RED Hood but they considered how Post-Crisis Jason actually had Black Hair & stuck with him not having Red Hair even after more Reboots.
@@NeverOhVer There's actually a lot of instances of inconsistencies between Colors in Older Comics depending on the ink used for each Issue Batch & Different Color Restorations used in Different Reprints so depending on the printing it could appear either Blonde or Red or even BOTH switching back & forth in the same issue which is a point of confusion but when DC Comics decided to go back to the dyed hair concept for Jason they ultimately settled on it being Red. The Episode of Batman: Cape Crusader itself also highlighted their decision that it was Red Hair the whole time since they decided to use Red Hair for this "Jason" instead of Blonde. So ultimately depending how you look at this it could have been either Blonde or Red since it flopped back & forth but DC settled on it being Red in the end.
It's funny to me that Onomatopoeia has now appeared in batman show and was recently in a superman show but for some reason he was never in arrow a show about green arrow.
Episode 8 was my favorite in the whole season. Loved what they did to Nocturna, loved all the cameos and how this episode just gets what Batman is all about.
Episode 8 reminded me so much of the Justice League Unlimited episode called Epilogue, where the character Ace causes a ton of havoc and trouble for the Justice League but in the end after figuring out Aces problem Batman decides to talk with her and comfort her instead of listening to Amanda Waller on how to handle things.
Commenting again because I made that original comment as Batman was saving her out of the forest and I just heard Hector make the same comparison so that's badass that he thought the same thing! Awesome review yall, love your guys vids!
Meanwhile, a little boy named Timmy is at home at the orphanage, in bed with a cold, and wasn't allowed to go on the trip to the carnival with his friends 😅
@WhiteRaven696 they could end up being. It's just odd that they are all roughly the same age and they came to him at different parts of his life. But I could see it, depending how long they continue the show.
I love how even the episodes that focus on the out of place stuff even ties to an overarching story in the background. It’s consistent while allowing freedom for the various characters they keep introducing.
Remember they’re doing their own spin on the characters in this universe. I don’t think the kids will actually become robins in this show I think this was a fun Easter egg episode. I could be wrong though.
Tbh I'm thinking Carrie. Of all the Robins she's the least well known and she was the most active kid in this ep. EDIT: No idea why autocorrect changed Carrie to Connie
When Carrie grabbed Batman's cape I took a screenshot to put up as my wallpaper, because that was such a " Batman moment ". The real fans know, but it saddens me that not enough fans know that is why Bruce/Batman does what he does. Protecting the actual innocent of Gotham City. MAN!!! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! PS the Robins being in the episode was just simply brilliant.
This episode reminded me of Justice League Unlimited when Batman stayed with the metahuman Ace until she died. Her crimes didn’t matter in the end, she was a kid and he wasn’t going to leave her.
There's a name drop just before Dozier that i haven't seen anyone catch The police scanner says "domestic disturbance on the corner of Wheeler and Nicholson." Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson was the man who started National Allied Publications which evolved into DC comics. He was the man in charge when Siegel and Shuster created Superman and when Bob Kane and Bill Finger launched Batman.
The line delivery of "no you don't" was perfection...and I kinda agree with the kid. Keeping a child alive who has to eat other people to survive isn't mercy.
I love the detail of Jason having red hair. For those who dont know, that was his design pre-crisis. He would dye his hair black as Robin in order to look more Dick so that people wouldn't know it was a different kid. After Crisis, they changed him more into the Jason we know
I feel like every movie and show gives cars squeaky brakes for lack of sound design. Tires, suspension, engine and trans all make sounds but squeak is easy. haha
Jim Corrigan here might be the twist version of the character from the book Gotham Central, which head writer Ed Brubaker did back in the day (check it out it's great). They had a crooked forensics guy called Jim Corrigan who looked like he might become the Spectre like the one from the 1940s who had the same name... instead he killed Renee's partner Crispus Allen, with HIM becoming the new Spectre instead.
Muito fofo eles falando "Esse é o meu Batman! É disso que eu to falando!" quando ele salva a Natalia. A cena dele carregando ela enquanto Carrie agarra a capa é linda ❤
Many people consider animation inferior but they forget that most of the best DC content is animated. Love the reaction as always. Can't wait to see your reaction to Watchmen chapter 1
So at this point, I am not sure where most of these characters are going because they’re retelling some of their background stories like for example Lucius is his lawyer. He’s not the mechanic guy that built the Batmobile. So this could very well be instead of the backstory of Robin, his parents are from the circus, and all the others they’re just having them all as orphans in the orphanage and could possibly just be at some point like a funder of the orphanage or something like that instead of being a specific ward living in his house we’ll see how it goes
Hey guys, to let you know the actress is playing the goth girl in this episode. The ones who sucking out the life out of people it's Kate McKinnon Phoebe from Ghostbusters afterlife and Frozen empire
About to watch the last episode of the season. This is so great. And yes, that moment with Natalia at the end and Carrie grabbing Batman's cape was such a joy, made my eyes well up, and I knew exactly what Hector was going to mention before he even said it, Epilogue from Justice League Unlimited, another beautiful moment.
With the exception of Damien and Tim, every single Robin was in the episode. Damien was excluded for obvious reasons, but I hate that we didn't get a Tim Drake cameo, even if the argument would be he'd be way too young. I don't care. Jason was there. Stephanie was there. Why couldn't we also get Tim?
no way these are the actual robins and not just easter eggs . timeline wise it doesn’t make sense, but you really think mr dick grayson would respond to “oooh the circus!” with “even better , the carnival” no denigration of his roots like that
You know for this series in prime video they only show dick Grayson and jason todd but no time drake no duke Thomas and not even Cassandra cain just only the two that I just said and best Stephanie brown and carry kelly that only appeared in this series of batman it is really unbelievable just absolutely really unbelievable and one more thing why not add harper row in this series as well.
I really liked episode 7 focusing on Barbara and Jim. I hope we get more of that over the series. I unfortunately think the kids are just references episode 8. I'd love to see Robin in this world, but it feels very much like a nod. And with Gunn's DCU having a Damian Robin, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see other Robins pop up in "elseworlds" projects.
I like that Onomatopoeia's introduction as "someone from out of town" is a nod to him being one of Green Arrow's rogues
“Dun, dun, dun.”
I love seeing Batman covering Natalia with his cape. That was one of my favorite scenes in the season so far!
been long while we seen that of batman is animated media. think last known one was literally the justice league unlimited ace episode.

What about the little boy named ...uh...tbh I have no idea how you shorten Damian.
In the 7th episode I was waiting for someone to say "You're a Damn Good Cop, Jim".
Onomatopoeia appeared in 2003 in a Green Arrow comic and was cool as hell. He also killed Bruce’s fiancée, Silver St Cloud.
I saw a comment online, but kinda came to the realization as I was watching it, how each of those kids represented a different robin.
Yeah, it's subtle--until we get to Carrie Kelley :)
@IsiahBradley she definitely looks like a younger version of her from Dark Knight Returns movies. With the slingshot too.
They don't represent them, they ARE them. Stephanie's surname being Brown is kinda the dead giveaway.

This is not the same Jim Corrigan that becames The Spectre, this is the dirty cop from the Gotham Central comic
Thanx I didn't know that
I think his date is supposed to be a Julie Newmar like character (actress who played Catwoman)
Also ‘Moving Target’ name drops Dozier in an episode featuring Onomatopoeia who makes sound effects like the old Batman ‘66 tv show
Little Girl touching the Cape .... perfect
The line delivery of "no you don't" was perfection...and I kinda agree with the kid. Keeping a child alive who has to eat other people to survive isn't mercy.
