thanks. it's only pretty during the rainy season. after that it's dry and brown 🤣. Not much to do really if you're a tourist. you'll be disappointed. if you're serious about coming to California i'd recommend visiting Monterey's fisherman's wharf and the surrounding area. the area there is nice. the Monterey bay aquarium is worth seeing. then a little north is Marina state beach. that's one of my favorite beaches. if you walk away from the crowd you feel like you have the beach all to yourself. only sometimes if no one is around. then there's the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk. the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz is worth checking out too 🙂
Yeah, the slope of Pacheco pass is grueling. This reservoir is used to store energy for the grid. This is why the level appears to go up when there is no rain. They pump water during the night, when electricity demand is low. And let the water flow back and generate electricity during the day
Huh, I didn't know that. The water level is still really low. A generation ago, when it used to rain a lot, the water level used to reach almost up to the road at some spots.
We can't wait for California to reopen to tourists from out of state. This video is an area I need to explore. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
