This is a lovely interpretation. I like the way Diaz-Jerez lingers slightly on the second beat of each measure in the opening; it gives the piece a more languid feel. Beautifully phrased and voiced.

Even though this is essentially a Spanish dance, this piece becomes almost dream-like at the end in music of moving tenderness.

No wonder Messiaen revered Albeniz. This piece is so strikingly similar to Messiaen's works, especially the Vingt Regards. Fascinating!
