I feel harvesting with restraint is acceptable, that being said i feel its more important to get the fish that you don't keep back in the water instead of holding it for extended camera shots.
Awesome video, I spent 6 hours on the water yesterday trying to learn how to read my new electronics. Came in to be inspected at the launch by our local conservation warden. Nice guy, him and I laughed about the year round bass season on inland lakes here in WI, especially with guys on the lakes fishing night time, and just happening to be pulling walleyes in. One local lake had to put a limit of 10 panfish out due to over fishing. Great message about catch and release. We go out on the lake, then go have an old fashion and a fish fry, with the exception of a couple fresh catches a year.
Thanks for answering my question. I don't keep a lot either. Just enough to enjoy how delicious they are. I am a firm believer in obeying the laws and limits of this awesome sport...Fishing.
Got to say, I'm not into the jerky snacks but you've inspired me to bring the jetboil out in the boat this year. Going to vacuum seal some pot roast, potatoes and carrot meals for lunch. That should be way better than a cold sandwich.
genius audio engineering by you guys you can see the wind with the waves but not hear it when you talk. Almost makes it sound like a nice warm day out there :)
@TomBoley do have your mega live all linked together or do you prefer a stand-alone unit? I havent decided if i want to add mega live to my one unit or buy a separate ice bundle unit and have it mobile in the boat.
Pretty much the same jerky recipe I use, except I do use curing salt plus add in course black pepper ginger and garlic powder. Can also swap the honey for maple syrup and some bourbon to mix it up from time to time. Also can’t wait for NY walleye to open back up
Another great video guys! You say you always get questions about what gear you’re using. I was curious what knot you tie form your main line to leader and what knot to your lure. Thanks.
Try the Nesco Maple Bacon , the only problem is you’re gonna run out of deer meat really fast🤩 and once again, Tom, great video I was just telling my buddy I can’t wait to retire in a couple years so I can be like Tom out there every day !
@@jamiematter9979 I never said I was fishing a walleye tournament. I just said for our five best fish weighed 41.5 pounds. I also said in the past week, so it wasn’t all one day.
I love those days! Noboby else out to hassle you!! Great job fishing. I ask one favor... please get the hook keeper moved up a touch. I rest my pointer finger on the blank, can't do that with Elliott rods.
I have a question for you. The white tickle shad you are using, is it a transparent white or a white pearl? Is it an interference color? (does it reflect a green/blue/red/whatever in light) I make my own plastics and jigs so just curious.
Mitchell, You are nailing your exposure levels much more consistently, keep up the good progress. Whatever exposure tools you choose to rely on, be consistent and your work will shine. After 40plus years of shooting I always find something to help me improve the production.
I do wonder why Kalin’s went with the rubber coated net vs a solid rubber net. Weight reduction I’m guessing? Getting a hook out of those is just such a pain in the ass.
Tom, Need to Pick Your Brain . Looking at two different Fish finding units both look to be discontinued models and both models at the $999 price point. The Garmin Echomap Ultra 106sv with 154 Transducer. The other model is a Lowrance HDS Live 9 with 3 in 1 active imaging transducer. New boat trying to outfit. Last time i did a fishfinder was 30 yrs ago a hummingbird 565 . Wow have things changed! Any Suggestions for which one I should purchase? Looks like both of these unit can expand later to LiveOptics (livescope) or is there another unit that would be around same pricepoint . Always look forward to your Videos Thanks for your hard work Bill

Do you think maybe you could let us know what river system, or lake you are on with these videos? Just possibly, some of the local businesses might get a little more business! Just asking. I sure enjoy your videos!!
You guys are animals!!! The enthusiasm everyone needs to have!!! 👍👍👍
Thanks Tom for being Ambassador to catch and Release. Let them go to let them grow . 🇨🇦
When is it OK to keep fish to eat?
Catch and release always super important on many bodies of water
I feel harvesting with restraint is acceptable, that being said i feel its more important to get the fish that you don't keep back in the water instead of holding it for extended camera shots.
Another educational walleye video. Tom, and you're the best teacher in the fishing industry!
Mitch was so much help to this old man yesterday with my walleye now app. I appreciate it!! Thank you Mitch!!
"Little river" 😂😂 Ah, for the upper midwest, that was a pretty good sized river. Wisconsin River is my guess.
Fantastic spot! Well done Tom and Mitch. Wisconsin has so many great spring walleye fishing options.
For sure ... So much water to explore
Finally a day I really don't wish to be fishing with you guys !!!!! Good on ya !!!
Another Great Video you guys nice chunky walleyes!!
Way to beat the elements looked brutal out there.
Killer Vid guys!! You crushed it, and as always, I had a few good laughs💪🤘🎣
Man, what a trip! Can’t beat that!
Another great video !

Great video. Jerky strips are better than ground any day.
Agreed
Sometimes those days are the only days available. Surreal fishing I call them.
Gotta get out when ya can
Welcome back!! great video! Saw you last time you fished here.
Fun little spot to fish!
GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT TIPS AND ALSO GREAT SEMINAR THIS LAST FRIDAY EVENING. BLESSINGS AND BE SAFE.

😂😂 Mitchel “How far is the hotel” he probably freezing his voice said it all lol😂
I wish that it was possible to give you guys 2 thumbs up instead of just 1. Y'all earned two.
Awsome video real troopers next question for soup with Tom When gonna put a light on Mitchell's camera indicating its rolling jkd😂

Ouch! It appears to be one of those days years from now you look back and say, what the heck were we doing out there.... Having fun, making memories.
Always fun even in the shit!

Nice video as always dudes! I've been on your channel Tom since 26k. You should start a TV show! :)
Fun!
Ground venison jerky!! Suggestion next maybe try smoked grouse or fajitas !! Yum
Fire up the smoker!!!!
Glad you made it out there!! Hope you avoided the rocks. Another great video.
No rocks were found with prop

@@TomBoley your welcome!
Hey Tom, are you going to put together a walleye package like you did last spring? I just started this video so if you do in this one I apologize.
Another great video guys! You say you always get questions about what gear you’re using. I was curious what knot you tie form your main line to leader and what knot to your lure. Thanks.
Double uni
@@TomBoley thanks, that’s what I tie also.
Great job guys would like to hear what Mitch is saying😂
Tom Boley, you're nuts for fishing out in that shit. But you caught fish. I like to be a little more comfortable when fishing. Great video.

Looks like you are using 832 ghost braid
Yes I am
Great video. How do you secure your boat and gear at the motel ?
Locks and covers
My buddy and I have caught 41.5 pounds of walleye for our top 5 fish in the past week. We are both only 16.
lies

Hey Tom, where you at?! Just filming commercials for Acme?! More content please!
What gloves are you rocking?
Love the videos Tom! What line do you typically use in river systems?
Suffix 832 Braid
Top 3 zyn flavors for slamming walleye?
Sunny conditions : spearmint
Overcast : cinnamon
Do you ever tip the hair jigs with a stinger hook?... Seems like sometimes they're always nipping just behind .
Yes the kalins hair jigs come with a stinger
Hey Tom how much was that whole rig ? I wanna look into something similar
It's not a cheap jon boat but it is way more boat than what your average Jon boat would be.
Tom I wouldn’t be upset if you only fished rivers!
Rivers are super fun!
Nice
I need to buy a side scanner what would you recommend for my frist not too expensive
Hummingbird helix 9
I’m new to walleye fishing will that tickle shad work on a lake great video
Absolutely works great!
Glad y’all got the snow and not MN
Yup. We got it 2 weeks ago. Hopefully the last.
It literally all melted within the next 2 days anyways 😂😂
#MN river fishing Love.
I watched the entire video anticipating a walleye on a crankbait in a snow storm. Did you try them after all?
Jigs were by far more effective this day
What line do your u use
What brand of braid are you running? Since berkley stopped making Nanofil,we are like lost puppies.
I assume he's still running Suffix 832. That's what he always used to use.
Yes
Do you use the 2.8 or 3.8 Kalins mostly?
Both. Super low flow I prefer 2.8
Loved it! Thanks for embracing the suck…
Always. Thanks for watching
Are you still having a lot of problems with the app? I've tried to get it but it doesn't seem to want to work on an android

You're always able to get the hook out so much easier than me I must not have the tecnic or you have smaller barbs or what?
I get to practice everyday!
I do wonder why Kalin’s went with the rubber coated net vs a solid rubber net. Weight reduction I’m guessing? Getting a hook out of those is just such a pain in the ass.
I never liked full river nets.... Too heavy and unmovable in water for me
@@TomBoley yeah, I figured weight would be the determining factor. But a net under 1.5lbs is unreal! Good stuff man
Ground and twice on sunday
Your last two videos have sold a LOT of nets
