So why did he create a technopath if he never intended to use those abilities in the first place?
While playing as a Kryptonian would be pretty standard, as their only unique trait would be their laser vision, it would also provide an interesting situation due to knowledge of a yellow sun having an effect seems to be well known, at least in the scientific community. So trying to avoid it or trying to get a handle on the increasing power would be interesting. Especially for the polymorph fight, as its ability to copy a Kryptonian suddenly makes it a walking bomb that can't handle the power it is gaining. This also would be great roleplay, as the characters who fought it inform said Kryptonian of what happened with the Polymorph, giving them the knowledge of where their power would go and the risk of it.
Or maybe have it menace the magic user, thinking they're weak, only to realize that their new invulnerability doesn't protect them from the arcane.
@@legomaniac213 The interaction with magic users would certainly depend on the personality of the Kryptonian. If they were a scientist, they either are curious or scoff at the idea, both of which can easily lead to them getting blasted with magic. Or they are more childish, unaware of the connection to the sun and only realizing that they are becoming incredibly powerful and want to abuse that fact. The answer with comic panels say otherwise.
It's not even race-mixing, it's SPECIES mixing, and it's an integral part of the game mechanics that it happens an awful lot, or we wouldn't have options like tieflings or half-elves.
Glad the trash took itself out in the end.
Don’t forget half orcs! Lol yeah I actually really enjoy the mix too. It would make sense in an actual world where there is a mix of lots of sentient humanoid species. Even in anthropology it’s noted that humans did so with other human lineages. It’s real life proof that we humans would do this even in a fantasy setting like this. And races we make up? Yeah they would probably share that trait.
@@mentalrebllion1270 Considering that those with residual Neanderthal (or Denisovan etc) DNA are known to have useful genetic traits that 'pure' humans wouldn't possess otherwise, most reasonable folk would argue that interbreeding (both within the species and with closely related hominids) is healthier and better for us overall.
Same goes for the fantasy version of reality.
Agreed. Half elves, half orcs, and Tieflings, even yuan ti, are all considered some of the most strong to play and are often chosen. They always rank high in polls at least. So it makes sense to me. They are all variations on humans and are often of mixed heritage, even if that heritage isn’t directly biological.

Speaking of dragons and wizards "overlapping", on a podcast show for the Deathbattle/roosterteeth youtube channel there was a recuring trivia game where they asked the different revolving guests questions about things the other cast and crew knew about but they didn't.
They'd ask the woman who did all their makeup star wars and star trek questions.
They'd ask the middle aged and older show runners DBZ, pokemon, and Yugioh trivia.
And they'd often ask one of their lead animators, who was a massive anime fan and just happened to be black, a bunch of questions about medieval European inspired fantasy stories written for and by old white British folks. One time they asked their animator if he knew about the Hogwarts Sorting Hat and to explain the sorting process. By about the 5th time the black animator said "And then the hat decides who's gonna be the next grand wizard." two of the three white guys on camera were actively panicking and begging him to stop saying "grand wizard" and the third was on his phone googling the term to show their anime fan exactly why the term "grand wizard" never shows up in the Harry Potter movies.

Ohhh, I love the idea of the idea of this system. It sounds like something that would be right up my alley!
Some Players like systems like D&D where the rolls going higher is a good thing, and they enjoy it over the long haul...
Once in a while, though, there are people and dice that somehow just roll (greater tendency anyway) low... SO I keep systems like GURPS around, where the lower the roll, the better your odds of doing the thing...
AND since GURPS mechanics are based on 3D6, the system is readily and easily picked up by D&D Players and Veterans, too... SO couple that with at least a supplement for ANYTHING (quite literally) to be added into a Game, Setting, or World... and you have a wonderful way to "break up the monotony" without having a lot of extra work on anybody's part for getting along in whatever new game you create...
The only downside is a bit more "heavy lifting" left entirely up to the GM... GURPS is a Role Playing System, so not exactly a Game... just a series of resources for MAKING the Game... Yet, any decent GM should have no trouble running through the "Basic Set" and putting together a fine Homebrew to cover all the required bases and bring it to the Table... I've been using GURPS 3e (revised) as THE base book for gaming for years when called upon to break up a monotony of D&D Campaigning, one-shots, and misadventure... ;o)
So mortal Kombat except you're not in a tournament you're fighting evildoers pretty baller they ask me.

Dead in the first 2 hours of a 4 hour first session? Wow his dm is a jerk. When I’m dming, if a player is a having supremely bad luck and just can’t get a break, instead of just letting them die, I start fudging rolls to give that player some slack and not die. Well. Title turned out to be accurate. I do have some critique.
1. Saying "You should be saving her" is not sexist, or misogynist. If anything, it is derogatory toward men. And holding men to a standard that they should prefer women above themselves and behave competently is not a vice.
2. Max's behavior was sexual harassment. That's a very big deal In and Out of character. Huge, Huge red flag.
1. of course it's sexist: he was CLEALY implying that no matter what, women are weak and should always be saved cause GOD KNOWS they could never save a MAN.
2. at least you picked up on the sexual harassment so that's something.
@@JT5555 1. No. That's an ancient standard. He didn't say anything about how women could never save men, or how they should be weak.

Some people just can't get outside themselves and let things be while in a public setting, those sorts of people don't mix well with Role Playing Games in General, since the main idea of an RPG, regardless of what system or game you are playing, is to get outside your usual headspace and inhabit someone else entirely. There are reasons dumb, literally and/or figuratively, characters can simultaneously be annoying to play with and fun to play as, it's mainly because of how far out of the usual headspace those sorts of characters allow you to get while mainly have to deal with the consequences in-game, sometimes you have to deal with the consequences out-of-game with your player group but it's mostly toned down because you likely gave the DM/GM and some of the other players fair warning beforehand. That all said, it's entirely different when the player is an intentional idiot because they're a bigot, players like that are toxic to the community as a whole and should be dropped from any group and blacklisted from playing for the overall health of the RPG community.
You can have people that are toxic players but phenomenal DMs, you can have players that toxic DMs but amazing players, and you can have people that are toxic on both sides of the screen. Toxicity is an inevitability with any community, it the responsibility of that community to mitigate the toxic individuals in the community so that their toxicity doesn't become too hazardous, if you manage to regulate it good enough that toxicity can be regulated to the point it becomes something healthier, like critical commentary. Regardless, it's best to not ignore the toxicity and deal with it as soon as possible.
Wow, did not see that coming, thought Max was just a jerk but then....BAM m night Shyamalan twist.
How the fuck can you play DnD and somehow think you can't "race mix" or think it's wrong? With so many different races in it... it's like... really? Did he miss the thing in most roll playing games how there are tons of different races?
Like, that attitude could make for a scummy villian that everyone would want to kick the shit out of... but as a rl person in dnd... wtf?!
Interspecies issues? What the hell is wrong with this guy? We had a whole place ruled by a tiefling queen married to a human king who wielded zero power or influence. He liked it too. He was a trophy husband who just needed to show for important stuff once in a while. He spent a chunk of time partying with my barbarian and our bard(our wizard swore off after the first time when he didn't handle his drink too well). Hell my village was an alliance of goliaths and halflings. We just didn't intermarry because, well do the math. The logistics are a little rough either way.
I'm just glad someone remembers Asura's Wrath.
Am I the only one who found it ironic Max called them 'race traitors' when an orc and Jedi (assuming Jedi is an alien in terms of them being from space and not native to her planet) when Max spent the entire time hitting on a SUCCUBUS?!?!
Hypocrisy is a tent pole of racism
What the hell is wrong with some people
U mean the op? Or allthingsdnd for thinkin this was worthy enough to make his channel?
@@docop8926 Max LITERALLY called them "race traitors" I don't see how he isn't seen as the bad guy in this situation.
@@docop8926 Why isn't it worthy enough? At least those in this story knew what their game was and that the it wasn't about the accomplishments, unlike many who think their homebrews are legitimate achievements when it comes out that it is all DM enabled. Those types of stories are about as credible as a 5 year old's story and about as legitimate...
Ima be honest i wuld have kicked him out the second i heard "they have a much bigger part to play then the rest of the group"
Neat story. Wish I was more familiar with pop culture to understand half of the things though.
This is such a cool concept for the game!
Man i wish i could’ve played in that. Irl entertainment and a really fun-sounding homebrew!
Even though this rpg idea sounds like a terrible derivative idea for a game, everything gets worst when racist pieces of shit get involved.
"Complexity of D&D rules"
I mena. . . Please tell me this was pre 5E then? 5E rules are super simple, and creating a character is actually a really short process now.
I would have loved to play a campaign like this one...and probably gotten an assault charge for smacking Max. Win/win.
The dragons and wizar- oh, I understand now.
Because of the dragon and wizard crossover 🤣🤣🤣
This homebrew sounds awesome!
