When I was a firefighter/paramedic over in West St. Augustine (King Street Elite!), we were invited to a HUGE family reunion over at the park across the street from the firehouse.
Big Mama Sparrow made the Potato Salad and the Mac and Cheese and a Peach Cobbler that I swear to God above was so good, I’d be proud to get the Diabetes that comes after eating that good for years on end. My daddy was a country boy and he raised me on proper cooking. I thought… That party was almost 12 years ago and I still think about that day every time I drive by Calvin Peete Park. Loved me that entire neighborhood.

Wow! My mother-in-law was a magnificent Southern cook! Everything she made was heavenly and she did it with ease. All I could remember about her mac and cheese was that she used eggs in the recipe...and most recipes I searched for did not use eggs. Oh, how I wish I had paid attention to how she did things, but I was young and had no interest then. And then I find your recipe! YES! I love all the tips also! And a pan that doesn't need clean up afterwards! Yes to that too.

I made this last week for thanksgiving baby when I tell you everybody loved it. I was so happy cause this the first time I made macaroni and it was delicious. Usually my boyfriend complains about my macaroni but he was quiet about this one. I didn't use velvetto cheese and I forgot to add the provolone but it was still perfect. Thank you so much for this recipe. I will be making this again

First of all, you not only make the most delicious looking food I've seen, you have the greatest personality and you're so cute and sweet and I really enjoyed watching you. In fact I'm watching you want you on my TV as we speak as well as listening to my phone for your Mac and cheese recipe. I am not a very good cook and I'll just be honest. Love the way you cook your Mac a cheese. Looks so good. This is way I do mines. Only one question! I notice you didn’t cover yours when in the oven. I always covered mines. Not covering does it dry it out? Interesting!

You can place it it the refrigerator however it can be difficult to reheat without it drying out. You may want to make it the day before and bake it on thanksgiving.

Question for you: would shredding the cheese instead of cubing it help it melt even better? I’ve seen you mention to not use shredded, guessing you mean to not buy shredded cheese bags. Thanks!!
Hello! Shredded cheese does not work well in this recipe. One of the secrets of this recipe is to use cubes. This results in amazing flavor distribution. Thanks for watching!!
