Scott discussing how his Emotional/Social instincts have atrophied mirrors my experience exactly. I am very confident outgoing person who is a consultant for a living; I understand people pretty well, and my entire life/career involved a default level of social interaction. However, post pandemic, I’ll go through the motions of social things, but whatever drove me to call people, ask if they want to grab a beer, sending people a link or a UA-cam video..its all reverted , its maybe like 11% capacity now 😅 I’d guess a lot of people are where Scott and myself are currently. Zuby discussing this with Scott will be useful for those individuals.

Many Black people have been brainwashed into the racist belief that Whites are intrinsically evil. Scott said that if you're White you should get away from such people for your own safety. He's proved correct about that every day. We see more and more videos, news stories, posts, etc. all over the net of Blacks attacking Whites for no other reason than their race. And it just keeps getting worse. Scott was 100% right.

I heard an articulate, black pastor in 2017 for 18 say, “let’s face it Black people have never had it worse in this country“ (USA). Considering slavery and anti-black voting laws, this is the most disingenuous thing I’ve ever heard a black person say. I think it’s really disrespectful to Black people who did suffer from slavery or other horrible abuses.

Yeah that might explain some of it but in Britain you get predominantly,;well until mass immigration got put on steroids, white working class poor sink estates. You really notice low income, low standards of behaviour, crime and moral and cultural deprivation. We need to get back to a system that stops treating people as victims and hold them to the same standards as everyone else. You do the carrot and the stick where everyone is talk Civics in school, taught what their responsibilities are to themselves, their family, their neighbours and the nation. We need to stop tolerating degeneracy and rampant crime. People who prey on others need to go to jail but recidivists who are constantly in and out of jail or are violent.

Well, the "newspaper" business is all but done. It destroyed itself by deliberately alienating the conservative half of it's potential customer base. Even good sized cities only have one newspaper and it's a biased, woke, boring mess. The Sunday paper used to be almost an armful but now it's only slightly thicker than the daily paper. The daily costs are typically over $1 and the Sunday edition starts at $3. There is little advertising because who would want to advertise in a medium that actively assaults and attacks half of the customer base.

Wow! This is one of the best, levelheaded, intelligent, reflective talks I’ve heard. Thanks to both of you. I didn’t even know that Scott Adams was still alive (so sorry!). I’m so happy that he is. 🙏😄 Always was a great fan of Dilbert. Especially since I worked for some American companies during the end of the nineties/beginning of the new millennium. Only menial admin jobs, but I grew up in a family with three civil engineers, so I kind of am familiar with the science part of thinking, too. We also discussed politics a lot, since both my parents were refugees.
I remember buying “The Dilbert future” (still in my bookshelf) at Heathrow airport when I had been on a business trip. I started reading it whilst waiting for boarding. I started laughing so hard tears were rolling down my cheeks. I tried to contain myself but it was impossible. I sat there with loads of businessmen in suits (this was 25 years ago). And then finally one of them comes up to me and asks me what I’m reading. I showed him. He said, “I have to get that book now.”
Just got it out of my shelf now. I mean come on, “Placebo Domingo” 😂😂😂
Funnily enough, I was also a lot into NLP back then, and was quite surprised with the depth of the ending of the book.
I think I have to reread it. See if I get into a time warp. Sadly, I think prediction 65 turned out to be too optimistic.
Anyway, to Scott Adam’s, thanks for all the freeing, heartfelt laughs through the years. And to both of you for this discussion. ❤

I got cancelled from a community college theater department for agreeing with the director. I watched a production commemorating V Day which consisted of several vignettes about how women are always put upon. The last one concluded with actors (my friends) chanting “believe her”. The director opened by admitting that as a man I might feel put upon and defensive. I raised my at this talk back and agreed, I did feel like I was being accused of something. I did disagree with the last performance, as an engineer I believe in facts. Men lie, women lie, people make mistakes, give me facts and proof. That scandalized them! I always bring receipts. Someone challenged me and I started giving examples of times when women lied about abuse, harassment, and rape. That really pissed them off. All of the actors got up and left. Later, the professor sent me an email saying that I was out, I was not wanted back, and my dramaturgy work would not be used in the coming production.

The last one had all cast members doing a kind of chant; when she says she was harassed, BELIEVE HER, when she says that she was belittled, BELIEVE HER, when she says a man physically abused her, BELIEVE HER and on. It was what is called a talk back (not my first one) and did agree with the director when I said I did feel like I was accused of terrible things. I am 64 years so have had more opportunity and likelihood of having done bad things than a 20 year old.

I really don't like technology, frankly. Not only do I rarely have a use for it, but I have little patience with it and next to zero interest in it. (This makes me somewhat of a Millennial anomaly.) The downside is getting left behind to the point I can't even figure out how to do my taxes online, at least without a huge expenditure of aggravation and effort. I made it through AP Calculus and Chemistry with the highest scores in my class, once upon a time, but this stuff does not come easily. And I still can't quite grasp the necessity of having a Facebook, Yahoo or other Ap (to take just a few examples) when I have had accounts with those sites for years. It seems hopelessly redundant. Who knew that "convenience" could turn everything into such a complex web of inconvenience.

"no courts have shown that the election was rigged in any big way".
    • In Michigan, a court ruled (closing the case) that the secretary of state violated state election laws when she effectively eliminated signature matching requirements. [Genetski v Benson]
    • In Wisconsin, its supreme court upheld a ruling that the use of unmanned drop boxes during the 2020 election was illegal.

Making the effort to create social interaction is a habit. I noticed the same. If you get out of the habit, it takes a great deal of conscious effort to get it back. Post-pandemic, our social interactions have dropped to near zero. As we age, the desire to make the effort decays.

I'm disappointed Scott chose to soft-pedal what really got him cancelled - where he said that blacks don't like whites so whites should thus seek to separate themselves from blacks, strenuously so and at all times.
I watched it - the video may still be posted here on YT.
Now I am conservative and very much put off by blacks who feel it is impossible for them to be racist so I tend to agree with that sentiment so he gets no condemnation from me.

The fusion bit at the end...... yeah....... The physicists running it have been overhyping it hard to get funding. They have yet to engineer a single fusion reactor capable of producing a single watt in excess. Sabrine Hossenfelder has some great videos about how they're basically conning people with their hype. At the moment, Fusion looks closer to being a lottery ticket than a safe bet.

Did Pres. Trump read Dale Carnegie ? He wrote "How To Win Friends And Influence People" . Dale Carnegie is buried in my home town cemetery at Belton , Missouri , a town right below Kansas City , Missouri ... My parents told me at the time that Dale Carnegie had his funeral in New York and then a funeral in our church , Belton Methodist Church ... For a town at that time , 1955 , we also had in our cemetery the anti alcohol Carrie Nation ... At the time our town had around 2,000 citizens ...
