If you need it to “fly” just use a hydrofoil and set up the motor at the bottom of the foil. Even if your not fully airborne you’ll feel like your flying, plus you’ll have less resistance on the water and will end up going faster. Enjoy
As someone who's paddled a flyak, I can confirm. I can't imagine trying it on this thing, though! The power output, coupled with the lower resistance of a hydrofoil, would make this thing terrifyingly swift.

Great job! Hydrofoil would have been a cool addition and would have made it exponentially faster without all the drag, but also quite a bit tougher to build. Seems like 30HP would have been way more power than that and required a lot larger power cable...
Fun little fact, the surf apparel brand O'Neill's founder (and credited father of the wetsuit), Jack O'Neil, lost his eye in 1972 due to an incident with an early experimental leash system very similar to the anchor installed at 8:12 . Before they thought of putting the leash (the rope that ties your leg to the surfboard) in the rear of the board, Jack's son, Pat, was experimenting with a leash near the nose which they would hold on to, using it to make small adjustments while in the barrel. This leash was consisted of surgical tubing wrapped around the wrist and connected to the board via suction cup, and was deemed by his peers the title of the "kook cord". They very quickly moved past this idea when one came undone while riding a wave, shooting directly into Jack O'Neill's eye, causing permanent damage, but ultimately providing him with a very cool eyepatch that became an integral part of his rugged look.
I didn't realized this at first but I am 100% sure that I saw a bobcat skid loader frame right after the useless test with the hose to see if the water would shoot out of the pump. I just can't believe that you guys are already that far on the power loader.

The voltage propably dropped quite a bit so it was more 65-70% of full power! Maybe if you put more volts in and as you said a second set of batterys it will work even better! Amazing! :)
I have a challenge and possible improvement to your design. The challenge is, build the glider used by the Green Goblin. The improvement, this applies to your Silver Surfer board and this challenge project, is a way to keep your footing without a handle. What if you had strong, built in magnets into the board or glider? You could use a plastic covering with a Lead sheet between the magnets and the plastic. This would allow you to create shoes with metal souls, which would cling to the board or the glider. Make the Lead panel side to cover and uncover the magnets using remote activation possibly.

Before they thought of putting the leash (the rope that ties your leg to the surfboard) in the rear of the board, Jack's son, Pat, was experimenting with a leash near the nose which they would hold on to, using it to make small adjustments while in the barrel. This leash was consisted of surgical tubing wrapped around the wrist and connected to the board via suction cup, and was deemed by his peers the title of the "kook cord". They very quickly moved past this idea when one came undone while riding a wave, shooting directly into Jack O'Neill's eye, causing permanent damage, but ultimately providing him with a very cool eyepatch that became an integral part of his rugged look.

The voltage propably dropped quite a bit so it was more 65-70% of full power! Maybe if you put more volts in and as you said a second set of batterys it will work even better! Amazing! :)

I have a challenge and possible improvement to your design. The challenge is, build the glider used by the Green Goblin.
The improvement, this applies to your Silver Surfer board and this challenge project, is a way to keep your footing without a handle. What if you had strong, built in magnets into the board or glider? You could use a plastic covering with a Lead sheet between the magnets and the plastic. This would allow you to create shoes with metal souls, which would cling to the board or the glider. Make the Lead panel side to cover and uncover the magnets using remote activation possibly.
