THANK YOU for walking me through BBQ grill safety! I was so scared to start my grill because i thought it might blow up, i let it sit for YEARS too afraid to touch it. I followed your video and i am off and running!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for your very understandable instructions and very clear videography! I am so looking forward to using my outdoor grill for the first time this season. Summertime - here i come! :-D
I was gifted a flat top by my mother and want to try it out, not experienced at all with propane and want to make sure I'm being safe with it. I've only used charcoal before so I'm really grateful for these safety tips.
Thank you for such a helpful video for people like me who know nothing of how to simply start using a gas grill. Now I feel a lot more confident this summer.
I never thought to turn the tank off first. I guess that helps to make sure there's no gas left in the line. And it will also tell you if your shut off on the tank is not working. I've read it is a good idea to disconnect the propane tank from the grill when it is stored for longer periods. Dont want a little kiddo playing adult and turning those colorful knobs. Thanks for the tips. I just bought my first propane grill. I learned some good safety tips.
Thank you so much for this video. I want to keep from what happened last family reunion from happening again. I miss my Granny so much. I told her to stand back.
Looking for a video about how to turn my grill on. Glad I found this. I had never used it before and used the soap check and it was leaking. We bought a new hose. Thanks!
Thank you- I needed this. Just got a propane grill the other day. Don't forget to know where the fire extinguisher is just in case the world decides to hate you or you accidentally do something irresponsible 😊
I was doing all of this WRONG!! I would never check the tank for leaks. To start it I would let gas build up and with lid closed and come over and toss a match. My starter doesn’t work so I still have to toss matches but I don’t really give a fuck I want burgers. Happy fourth and thanks to the wonderful team at Prince George for the wonderful informative video!!
Thanks for tip on tank valve first. I’ve only used my parents natural gas line grills where the only option is shutting the control knob. Just got my first grill and it’s propane
I just got my first gas grill to use in the fall and winter when it gets dark early. I want to get a 20 pounds tank with the hose but for now I am using the small 1 pound tanks. I know not to store them indoors. I am thinking of leaving them on the porch but they will be right next to the back door. I am wondering should I put them in a container and cover them? And drill holes for them to breathe incase they leak? The grill will be stored inside. Also we get a lot of snow and temperatures of below 0 degrees. I'm in Chicago. Thanks for the video.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this informative video for a newbie like me. Where should I store a tank when not in use? For example, I have a shed made out of hard plastic.
He has some good tips, but when it doesn't light, you air it out for 5 MINUTES. That is per the National Fire Protection Association. Also, use a grill 10 feet or more away from structures. He didn't check for leaks along the hose with the soap-water solution. That would be good to do!
I don’t understand!!! In sheet metal class I remember the teacher saying that you turn off the burner first to make sure the flame doesn’t travel through the tube to the supply...Isn’t this a safer way.
I'm so terrified of propane! I tried it but I think I'm paranoid that I might blow up that I am not actually doing it right! HOA won't allow us to have charcoal & I'm am not liking the change! haha! I'll give it another try! Fingers triple crossed!
The hose from my grill won't attach to the propane tank for some reason. I'm going to try opening the valve on the propane tank and shooting some propane into the grill and light it that way.

Propane tanks make me nervous because I fear I may be doing something wrong. Thank you for the tips, good man.
Excellent tip--shut off gas tank first, prior to shutting down the gas knobs when completed grilling. THANKS!

Thanks Randy-bo-bandy!
Thanks for this! I want to buy my first BBQ, but I'm scared to, I appreciate this safety video.
Yes i agree it seems all a worry ,maybe we should stick to maccas...
Also keep a fire extinguisher handy.
I'm going to send this to my friend who's using a new propane fire extinguisher for the first time.
Very informative video. Thank you
Excellent Video, thank you sir!
Thank you, from Illinois
Should I put Teflon tape around the connection threading?
Great tips for a beginner, thank you

I swear that guy is in Canada because i keep hearing his accent
Bruce Miles he is lol I noticed to
Tyler Ouellette oh I was right lol
Yeah it's Price George, BC. It's like a 10 hour drive north from Seattle.
yes
Thank you for the good tip!!
Super helpful as I'm new to grilling
Thank you, super helpful
Thank you. I am always afraid of gas grills. But now I feel better.
Should there be a gasket in the connector from the tank fitting to the grill fitting ?
It doesnt need to if its an NPT connection. Otherwise there would be maybe a rubber O-ring.
Great tips, thank you !
Best tip. Use charcoal and grill year round. The only time I don’t grill is when it’s pouring rain.
Is he Canadian?
He has some good tips, but when it doesn't light, you air it out for 5 MINUTES.
That is per the National Fire Protection Association.
Also, use a grill 10 feet or more away from structures.
He didn't check for leaks along the hose with the soap-water solution. That would be good to do!
He did check! He brushed it with soap and water to check for bubbles.
@@supergirl857dooms5 Yes, but I'm saying he was wrong to only specify the joints. A crack can happen anywhere in a hose!
This so Canadian. I love it lol
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you for this safety video I wanted to make sure I was doing it right lol
Love it, thank you.
Thanks! I won a fancy $850 grill 12 years ago and am still scared to use it. This makes menfeel better.
This video is very useful, thanks. Today I burned my hair and my left hand when I using my propane gas grill.
Is it unsafe to have a tank positioned in full sun ?
Is it safe to light a cigarette near a gas tank?
@@willcane5634 canes !
Very helpful, thank you. 🙂
Thank you great video
Thanks so much!!
We’ve used charcoal grills my whole life. I was considering a gas grill until I saw this. It’s intimidating 😯. But thank you for the great video.
if this is intimidating, an NG grill should be SUPER intimidating (but really it shouldn't. You'll smell mercaptan if it's unsafe)
I didn’t know there was a grilling season. I grill year round.
A big ball of fire🔥 I learned this the hard way a few days ago.. I'm ok
Thanks for the info ....
Thank you so much. Have a wonderful and safe summer.
Thank you
Thank you so much!
Hey, thanks, this is valuable
Good trip, thank you
I don’t understand!!! In sheet metal class I remember the teacher saying that you turn off the burner first to make sure the flame doesn’t travel through the tube to the supply...Isn’t this a safer way.
Thank you for the video it's vear helpful.
So if I see bubbles, I should have my system tested... didn't we just do that?
David S are you joking? You test it to see if it needs repairs, then if so, repair it so you dont blow your eyebrows off
Thank you!
Thanks for the tips
That there is some good tips, eh, don't ya know. Thank you!
so always turn off tank first huh? makes sense turning off the main fuel source
Very helpful
I'm so terrified of propane! I tried it but I think I'm paranoid that I might blow up that I am not actually doing it right! HOA won't allow us to have charcoal & I'm am not liking the change! haha! I'll give it another try! Fingers triple crossed!
Here 2024 thanks so much for the video
Thanks
Great! Might be time to clean that grill, though. Have on the the firemen trainees do it : ))
Thank you
LOVE
I knew Hank Hill would show up in comments..
Great Video / Sweden haha:)
The hose from my grill won't attach to the propane tank for some reason. I'm going to try opening the valve on the propane tank and shooting some propane into the grill and light it that way.
Who else watching this with their bbq on fire?
Wow
Definitely Canada
Just get a charcoal grill
this is canadian af
why peopel just use the coil grills
Lol, Canada, America, same thing..
Wrong turn off the grill first before you turn off the propane
That is what my teacher told me and the sheet metal class making sure the flame is out before turning off the tank.
Too complex and dangerous. Get me some charcoal.
Jesus is coming soon turn to Him.
Tips from someone too lazy to clean the BBQ.. yea ok
