Man, these are great techniques and such a great lesson. Much appreciated. I just bought my djembe 2 days ago, and am soaking as much in as possible to get better associated with my instrument. I subscribed and look forward to learning a bunch from you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks so much! Yes, I try and make a new video as regularly as possible, but at the moment I moved to another country to live for awhile and I don’t have a studio here, so I gotta improvise something… I’ll do my best to deliver a new video soon 😎
Я учусь на твоих уроках, все понятно объясняешь и показываешь 👍🏻

Are there separate techniques for smaller djembe? When I hit the edge of my djembe with the palm of my hand, my fingers reach almost all the way to the centre, so it sounds almost like a bass stroke.
Great question! Yes, small djembes do have a unique situation going on. I find it's mostly the bass stroke that's tricky with smaller djembes.
For bass, I pretty much hit with the side of my thumb. And for higher sounds, I just hit with the tips of my fingers (around the edge).
I recommend at least a 12" djembe in diameter to make you situation WAAAAAY more comfortable 😉
