11:08 old SU was different fr… i strated listening to them in 05, real tough. I can hear that “And Then What” til this day and get chills. They were ridiculous
HUGE aura moment in Dci, Bluecoats Trumpet and flugelhorn solo's in 2016 show Downside Up ! Yall give that a listen asap they have first person Pov videos too
I would say top aura for 2024 was CHANCE IS EVERYTHING by Bluecoats. If you haven’t see it, then watch it. That trumpet echo part literally puts tears in my eyes
I remember my freshman year (1993) at FAMU when Jukebox came to FAMU. the 5th was intense. I was in the M100 and we played every song in our book and the Jukebox was still going after we ran out of songs. It was my first time seeing The Human Jukebox in person and I was literally blown away (pun intended). Old school Southern was the unstoppable.
Honestly my brother, The Southern University's HUMAN JUKEBOX aka #GOAT 🐐 💙💛 🏆💪🏾 didn't play PERIOD!!! Dr. Isaac Greggs and his staff created a blueprint decades ahead of other bands that have adopted and profected their style and sound in today's social media age. Rest in power Doc and Mr. Knighten! 🙏🏽 Dr. Lawrence Jackson's brilliance along with his staff, expanded the Jukebox and continued their dominance! The young Jedi Knights, Haymer, Simmons, and Dr. Taylor (Big 3) hit the ground running with their dominance until Haymer and Simmons departure--what you young bandheads now call "Old Southern" 😅 youngsters today🤦🏾♂️but SU is still SU under Dr. Taylor, Kenneth Collins, and Cedric Todd! We just need more upper & lower brass like in 2014 to '19!!!
I couldn't disagree with you on this. Great content. Loved the video, bro. Keep it goin'! What's your take on - best; crank, sound, field show, sections, arrangements?
Uh sir I agree with about SU but which band was in OutKast’s Rosa Parks video, Drumline, performed with Peter Pablo, Lil Jon and the Eastside boys? Which band went Louisiana and waxed SU pointer👉🏾Morris Brown
my definition of AURA is........ when you see someone doing something that makes you feel cool IF YOU WERE IN THEIR PLACE. its an egotistical self-projection onto someone else's achievements we are never happy for THEM we're just full of good chemicals the moment we imagine ourSELVES in their place while THEY'RE the ones being cool in that moment which means.. AURA doesn't actually exist its more of a subjective achievement feeling and if its subjective in nature then objectively it doesn't exist like 'time'
I like how you gave the DCI bands love. They so slept on. A lot could be learned from them
the thor's hammer sound in the beginning was absolutely insane
Love seeing you give love to both DCI and HBCUs. DCI is too often forgotten by people who were never in Marching band. Keep up the good work, man!
Marching bands be getting me so hyped bro
8:34 the GOAT Ben Stone from the Phantom Regiment’s 2023 production. Love that guy

A senior in my band was in that Carolina crown show in 2023
When SU played Tourist during Crankfest 2016
You forgot certain HIGH SCHOOLS that compare to the level of DCI level of aura, I’m serious some of these high schools are insane
You gotta do a Drumline version of this
Have you heard the Blue Devils horn warm up? FIRE SPACE CHORDS
That Carolina Crown is out of Fort Mill, SC! They have a great warmup sequence. Also check out Space Chords form Blue Devils as well!
No marching band aura can be topped by that amazing grace solo by Jared brown
I love Crowns Drop the Hammer warmup
Loved your perspective Brah. Just subscribed! Keep up the good work
yoo love the videos the edites are fire
Bro didn't even bother to mention Bethune Cookman University 😔😭
Jared brown with that sax solo!

What year was exactly "back in the day?"
Back in the day? 🤔 When you say old Southern, the Southern I knew that was untouchable was 2002 SU. THAT band was the one.
Right cause southern has been the most consistent band for the last 75 years💯
So We Have Nothing To Say About The Marching 101??
