You missed the part where the devs went on a summer vacation after launch... Don't get me wrong the devs deserve a vacation, they made a fun game that i still play from time to time and i know that's hard work. but on the other hand the game did not yet have the stuff needed to get playerbase if singleplayer was there you players could do stuff while waiting for the player base to grow or if teams or ffa was their friend groups would have a reason to get it making the player base grow better. The playerbase had some movement after the steam strategy thing i'm hopeful it might escape the player count hell, but i can't say i'm optimistic it will even with updates.. it's such a unique concept and it makes me kind of sad it ended up this way...
