You are one of the greatest tech's I have seen. After watching many many of your video's your skills are just out of this world. I am a retired automotive technician and can not praise you enough. I thought working on Toyota's and Lexus were packed with technology but it seems like JD is over the top. You have a special knack for this line of work. Kudo's ZK. I will continue to watch and be amazed at your skills. So keep that green iron working.
This is the way it goes. Harvest time rolls around and everything that was working is no longer working. Keep up the great service sir. I would help ya, but I already have a job. 😀
Nice repair video ZK MASTER TECH The first combine you fixed, you made short work out of that repair great job. Thanks for sharing my friend. Great video.
Seems like its the little things that trip the operation, the intermittent electrical problems are always the worst to track down in my book, and for my experiences, a great many times, but not always, it turns out to be a ground issue somewhere in the system. Nice work young man, enjoyed watching.
Thanks for another great video ZK. It was super interesting and informative and another incredible teaching experience by ZK!!!! Wow. The equipment needing repairs before the X9 picture you showed us; you just whizzed right through them it seems!!! If ever there was a John Deere technician that carried the title of Technician, it is you ZK!!!!!! You approached those first series of problems, did your diagnosis work, determined the issue, lectured us on the problem and how to fix it and then showed us the fix. Pretty straight forward if we listened to you like we should have. The micr ate the wires on one and another need new parts related to electrical technology and the last one just simply did not get put all together at the factory. BUT along came this fabulous technician called ZK and determined the problem and flat fixed them in no time at all-yeah ZK!!!!!! An honor to know you sir!!!!!!! As far as the brand new combine you need to send the factory a bill for your expertise!!!!!!!! In fixing an item they forgot about. Just a bit of humor there. Now the X9 with the tracks off and obviously some serious problems. Now in walks the best in the west, Mr. ZK!!!! I will be super anxious to see the video on this one. By the picture it looked not good at all. Oh my, the whole track off and laying on the ground. Ouch!!!!!!!! You did great on these today ZK!!!! It was a pleasure being with you today. My sincere compliments to you for the amazing technician you are!!!!!!!!!!! The Iowa farm boy. Steve. 😊👍👋✅🇺🇸
The thing I miss about not driving through Illinois any more is missing waving at the wrong Sloan center as I roll on by. Thanks for more classes on master troubleshooting!
I don't know what the solution to the mouse gnawing is, maybe some genius has thought about, or is conducting research about this, and if not why not? It is an industry wide problem, so someone should grab the mouse by the tail, and get involved! apart from that Zeth, I love watching you updates. There is always something to be learnt! Don't know anything about "new" machines, as last one I worked on was MF 525 or similar some 35 yrs ago, but always willing to learn. Have a habit of watching what tools you use, I've got a bad habit of collecting tools, even though I'll never use them, but they're useful to have "just in case". Thanks for what you do, I loved the job so keep the green/any iron working, from UK.
For my family, the farm solution to rodents was cats... several cats... most were domesticated... some were domesticated-adjacent. In the end, the cats reduced a lot of the equipment issues caused by rodent occupation by reducing the rodent population. It wasn't a perfect solution, but I did help. I helped a little with my pump BB-gun too. 😀
Good video. When I need to check the signal wire for crank my Fluke 233 detachable face is the cats ass. That way you don’t need to start the engine multiple times.
So basically it's just like a TR Sensor in a pickup or car we do the same diagnosis and also recalibrate yours is much easier to replace at least in this case
The advanced snap on multi meter has a Bluetooth function so you can hook it up anywhere and watch the voltage from your phone. Only downside is that is $750
Zack I remember Working on Fryers and Grills and I got a Little Tool called a Pin pusher that It’s like a Pocket Screwdriver that has a Sleve around it that Slid over the Pin and Compressed the Pins I believe GCS Service out of St.Louis is where I got it It’s For Working on Frymaster Fryers but it would work for you!
I changed out a hydro handle on our s760, don’t know why they put loctite on those screws. Stripped out the torx so had to resort to vise grips. Went back with regular hex bolts.
What is the solution to the mouse gnaw problem? I have a diesel BMW that was mouse gnawed for the previous owner. My box of anti-squirrel rat snap traps arrives today. In my career we used teflon EE finish wire.
Honda makes a rodent repellent tape you get at the car dealership. I had a squirrel try and take up residence under the hood of my pickup. Also weekly spray with mint oil product I found on internet
I was wondering , is there no way the values of that handle would have recovered to normal if you calibrated the original handle without replacing it ?
He’s a John Deere technician so every time he goes out it’s a broke down Deere, case new holland claas agco ect look at every dealership they all have a small showroom attached to a huge shop just like automotive dealers, if it’s mechanical or electrical it’s gonna break sooner or later
The mouse problem could be fixed by applying a high DC voltage to all wires when the machine is turned off. The same voltage on all wires and GND on machine GND. That's the same way all the electronic systems are tested before leaving the factory. 2000V DC and a current limiter of 2mA should kill any mouse trying to get a snack.
I See alot of techs miss the very first pinpoint test (VISUAL INSPECTION) and it burns them everytime being a Ford Tech retrieve the fault code open the hood and look 80% of the time I see a bunch of acorns under the engine cover find the sensor that set the code bingo chewed up wires everytime can't miss that important first step can you!
Excellent informative video, very entertaining, however for that reason, maybe you should have never published it. 1. Please get some platform rigging to help you climb on those track drives. I understand wheels tucked in are also bad but someday you are going to fall and hurt yourself. Don’t be a hero. 2. Because primer and finish coat paint mills of thickness can never be accurately controlled painted surfaces under stress, tension or shear will loosen, it’s all about maintaining clamping load. Which the high bolt torque stretch try’s to accomplish. Nothing new in the equipment world. On top of that if the wheels have a un even circumference mating surface mating which they attempt to correct by machining, well you don’t get a third swing. But you knew that already. Sounds like the FIP is a day late and many dollars short boardroom decision.
Thanks for sharing Zeth, and thank you for keeping the green iron rolling so that the farmers can keep us fed.

They can hear you lol
Another awesome vid! Da$n mice! Keep the deere's running!
Thanks! Will do!
There is plenty to go at .never a dull moment 👍👍👍👍

wow!! i love your job dude!!! amazing machines
OTC 90's for the win!
always love the content. We're going to get ZK MasterTech to 100K subscribers!!!!
That would be cool!

Good stuff man
Nice Vid!
That 1100 does not look happy. Just saying!Good thing we got Zeth, the man, the myth, the LENGEND on the job!😀👍
I forgot the Wiggle test Good job
Zeth, der Problemlöser, der immer Helfen kann 🇨🇭😇
genau !
So basically it's just like a TR Sensor in a pickup or car we do the same diagnosis and also recalibrate yours is much easier to replace at least in this case
Can you do a update service truck tour and tour of your tool box at the shop
Fluke makes a meter that you can disconnect the display and take with you for remote measurements. Look up a Fluke 233 multimeter.
Got to hate them little mice. Cause a lot of damage.
Apparently, laying out bars of Irish Spring soap, is a good mouse deterrent.
The advanced snap on multi meter has a Bluetooth function so you can hook it up anywhere and watch the voltage from your phone. Only downside is that is $750
Zeb if memory serves me right Honda has a special tape that mice do not like
Zeth 😘
Yep, Honda Rodent Tape - 19MM x 20M P/N: 4019-2317 Wrap problematic wire bundles in it...works good!
😮 good video thanks
Zack

Wasn't there a pip to retorque those drive sprockets on the x9 track? Clean the paint of and retorque
Stay tuned for another exciting episode.... drive sprocket
It's gonna be intense!
Hello Zeth the ear buds you use where did you get them from Thanks
Raycon
What is the solution to the mouse gnaw problem? I have a diesel BMW that was mouse gnawed for the previous owner. My box of anti-squirrel rat snap traps arrives today. In my career we used teflon EE finish wire.
We have a BMW (gas) and had issues twice with mice. My wife sprinkled cayenne pepper in those places and absolutely no more issues.
Honda makes a rodent repellent tape you get at the car dealership. I had a squirrel try and take up residence under the hood of my pickup. Also weekly spray with mint oil product I found on internet
The farmers need to keep more cats around to keep the critters away.
I think they need to invest in a drum of mouse deterrent spray to put on the wiring...damn mice can do some serious damage!
Extra thick insulation but what do they taste like, from a mouse perspective.
Fingers crossed always is good thing😅
Is there anyway to test the key switch you took out to see if it was any good? Or maybe not worth it because it was intermittent.
I was wondering , is there no way the values of that handle would have recovered to normal if you calibrated the original handle without replacing it ?
I tried the calibration first with the customer over the phone.
@@ZKMasterTech ah I see , thanks
Wondering if john deere have quality assurance issues,or suppliers are not up to the job?
010 is neutral, but after switch change it read 101 for neutral?
Fluke has a DMM that has a detachable screen. Its the 233 model, its nice to use but munches batteries like cookies.
The best
Does John Deere really have that many problems? Is it the same with all the manufacturers
Probably. But generally speaking the more complex a machine is the more prone to problems.
Cheaply made parts will do that, meanwhile overcharging all for the sake of it being more “brains”
He’s a repair tech. So of course every video he’s fixing stuff. Every brand breaks down.
He’s a John Deere technician so every time he goes out it’s a broke down Deere, case new holland claas agco ect look at every dealership they all have a small showroom attached to a huge shop just like automotive dealers, if it’s mechanical or electrical it’s gonna break sooner or later
lol ever heard of JCB?
I am considering buying a John Deere, but it seems like the tracks are the problem.
That track falling off looks like a pre delivery not done right.
Never a dull moment if you run John Deere equipment must be exasperating
💚
Der Kabelfrass war ein Marder, denke ich 🇨🇭😇

I don't blame you for hau😢azz .
I hope you make in the area of $100 an hour for all of your talent and skills 🤘
Did you know rodent repellant tape is available
I See alot of techs miss the very first pinpoint test (VISUAL INSPECTION) and it burns them everytime being a Ford Tech retrieve the fault code open the hood and look 80% of the time I see a bunch of acorns under the engine cover find the sensor that set the code bingo chewed up wires everytime can't miss that important first step can you!
Deere should take the old Ford saying Fix Or Repair Daily.
