This is the first tutorial I've ever made so Please go easy on me! I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to make a skin so I decided to make this so that more people can make skins! Let me know if you have any problems, or if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer!
In short, everything is done, but there is nothing in the downloads... In general, there is nothing new and nothing that is needed either I did everything as in the video
@IknowTheEndOfCircle here's a few things that may help that issue. Try and change the ID on both coding portions. Make sure that the file named "dressmyslugcat" is not renamed. Next make sure that you have dragged the entire folder "with your custom skin' to the rainworld mod folder, and make sure that you have the mod dress my slugcat installed and enabled. Once you've done that it should hopefully work
Hello! I did all the actions and the mod appeared in the Remix menu, but the skin did not appear. Although I only left my mod enabled and Dress my slugcat

My personal suggestions as a unprofessional goon: For better contrast have a temporary layer behind everything filled dark gray. (Krita: Dark-gray then shift+backspace) For my own convenience, I attach a filter mask [Krita] to [part].png "Color to Alpha" and eye-drop the red so I can toggle red info. Kind of common sense but make each frame of the animation (numbered sections) it's own layer, own group if meticulous. DMS discord has an asymmetry pack you'll need if the skin has a distinct, asymmetric feature (default, symmetric, pack will make it flop sides and be glaring visual)

Hey this is an excellent guide!! I just had a slight problem though, I'm pretty sure I did everything right on all the sprites, I colored them and even make sure to save them all, Then I went into the game and I saw my mod was there and when I enabled it It still didn't appear in the DMS, Do you know what the problem could be?
Is it possible that you accidentally renamed the file named "dressmyslugcat"? I had a similar issue that was caused by that. If that isn't the case then Try giving it a different ID. Hope this helps!
how do you upload mods to rain DB? I made a skin for me and my friend and uploaded it to the steam workshop, but they don't have rain world on steam and i can't figure out how to get it on there (rain db.)
@@lupis_theredwolf ah, it's alright. btw if you want to make a seperate dms mod do you just extract/drag another one of the templates into the mod folder for rain world? (sorry if i didn't explain that well)
That would be the issue, try extracting the files (doesn't have to be with breezip) and move the entire folder to the rain world mod folder, after that it should work
Question: when you add let's say a second skin (like for all body parts & extras) and you already published the mod to Steam Workshop, will the mod update as soon as you add that skin into a new file? or will the people who's subscribed to said mod will not get updates on the updated mod?
I'm actually not sure, but I think if you add something to the original file, it should update on work shop however I could be wrong, you may have to re-upload the same file to get it to work
@American_TrashcanNSH I'm not sure if it would work but try going to remix and pressing the upload button again, it might give the option to update the mod

This was super helpful, can you make another one for how to make an iterator skin? I know its pretty much the excat same process but trying to make the little sprites for it has been painful for me, since mine wears only a large poncho 🥲🥲🥲
I'm not entirely sure how to make an iterator skin either unfortunately lolol, but I would recommend just downloading one of the iterator skin mods and modifying the preexisting skins :D

@@lupis_theredwolf it didnt work, the file named 'dressmyslugcat' is not renamed, the ID was changed to SKSKSK123 because i tried to just think of a random ID, and the entire folder has been moved to mods

"Edit- im glad you figured it out!" There are no specific id's to use, they can be anything as long as they are different from anyone else's id's, did you maybe accidentally rename the file named "dressmyslugcat" ? That's the only other thing that I can think of

I just checked and I didn't rename the file, And I gave it a different id but it still didn't work sadly

Nope, not unless you want the skin to be asymmetrical
How do i have multiple custom slugcats? My2cnd one doesn't appear in the dms menu:(
You should just be able to download another file for it and edit it again, maybe one of the id's have already been used so try and change that

The tail is actually the easiest one to do, you can basically just color the whole thing in and your done
wait.. i didn't extract the files with breezip and i didn't put it in the mod folder. is that what's wrong?

Do you mean the wiki or the discord? If you mean just mods in general, they are located on the rainworld steam workshop

I have a problem. It says that the mod is installed, but the options will not appear in the Get Fancy tab.
Could be an ID problem, try changing the ID in both coding portions
