@@JCT442 it’s a pretty solid engine. Buick has been using this for many years and they are near the top of reliability lists. Yes, I was surprised too ha
Seems nice for a younger family. Like the crossover/wagon type configuration. It's not a monster truck. The market probably needs more cars in this format.
It's definitely better looking than the 1st generation Trax. Like anything else with a turbo, you're going to have to keep up with your oil changes. Price looks good too.
It definitely has the Corolla price of about 5 years ago. With the Corolla costing maybe 25k or so depending on your haggling skills, you still get the Toyota reliability. But this new platform hasn’t been out long so you can’t guarantee the reliability. I know what I’d do with my money.
A disposable vehicle; ditch this before warranty expires, wet timing belt will initiate it’s demise. GM could have learned from Ford’s mistake, reliability of a Vega. Chevrolet knew this when you can no longer get a GM extended warranty. The only good thing going for it is a 6 speed automatic; soon they’ll cut cost with a CVT as they emulate the Rogue.
The Trax is sort of an engineering marvel in that they're able to give you all that stuff and features for 25k and under. Only issue is that stuff and features comes at the cost of quality and reliability, as all that technology you get might not always work well, plus the engine and underbody might not hold up long-term. It's a nice car, it's just a matter of if I'd take that chance reliability wise, and I'm unsure I would.
Thank you for another great review. I grew up in the late 60s-early 80s and all of my family drove chevrolets. No hatred for other brands its just what suited us. I understand the reason/s (mainly money) that automakers use other countries to build their parts, but its a pretty sad day when only 2% of this CHEVROLET comes from the USA or Canada. What gripes me most about chevy/gm is they took great car names like malibu/blazer/monte carlo etc. and slapped them on vehicles that look/perform nothing like the originals. I believe that they should have stuck with original body styles/engines and kept refining them instead of starting with a blank sheet of paper every 2-3 years. I'm still a chevy man, meanwhile the nissan frontier i now drive keeps plugging along. Just an opinion... thanks again.
@@fishtwo1 I appreciate that my friend. Yeah the global parts sourcing is an unfortunate reality of the times. Be nice if they’d change that but I won’t be holding my breath.
Good! I think Toyota is Soooo overrated...😉 BTW - I drive a '19 volkswagen tiguan, but did own an '04 Tahoe for 9 years, and it was one of the best vehicles, I've ever owned...
Until you go to sell the thing a few years down the line and realize nobody wants it past the warranty period. Meanwhile the Toyota has lost 10% of it's value.

The car is value priced and is an attractive package. With that said, I'll never get past a 3 banger turbo... nope, not for me.

Engine has been used in Korea for some time and has been proven to be very reliable
Alot of car companies are using 3 cylinder today.
I'd love a non turbo engine and an actual manual transmission(stick shift) in this.
Nice to have something decently priced. Wish the truck segment would do the same.
You’ve got the Maverick and fleet spec 2wd Colorado

I love the Buick version of this. It looks awesome. I would much rather have a 2liter 4 cylinder 😢
The Buick is nice
I wish this had a more powerful engine but apart from that it looks great and I bet the gas mileage would be great irl

The new generation Trax is good so far and you won't need to worry about being carjacked or stolen like a Toyota or Honda vehicle.......

The average car on the road is 13 years old lol. Its 2024 not 1994.
Something like this is what tthe 2025 ford Focus shoud have been .
30 mpg combined seems mediocre at best for a 1.2 liter 3 cylinder. Next time they should go with a turbocharged Briggs & Stratton.
Looks like a nice little shopping trolley if you lease. Not a long term car.
People are wondering why it cost only 25k well youwilll find out in the long run.
If they had a KIA warranty ... but a nice vehicle for the class. The turbo replacement will be an issue. At $26k there's some others i'd consider.
really nice looking sub compact SUV

For longevity Chevy loses so it doesn’t matter especially for those that will keep the car until the wheels fall off
If this was awd id buy it
They will probably add it during the next refresh. Possibly new powertrains too
That is a additional 3k

Lmbo the title made me click just to comment that Toyota is king and then closed the video.
Hahaha, I thought so too but then had to declare a lemon law on my Tacoma. Toyota didn’t honor warranties and it was a disaster.
