    Fantastic match by both! Finally we see sheer effort by Viktor putting soul into his game against his nemesis, and also the "gear 3" by KM that we hardly ever see. Viktor definitely has sparked something through this match, cant wait to see his progression in light of Tokyo 2020.
    On a side note, the Danish fans are the most disrespectable crowd I have ever seen/heard. Screaming "RICOLA" and timing the "HUU" only when KM is serving? Utterly disgusting. The officials should address such disregard. (Thankfully KM's mental state was too strong for such a lowly tactic)

    • @hoavu4430
      @hoavu4430 5 років тому

      I think it's important for KM at this particular time as his performance has been extremely unstable recently. Lost to SYQ in the world tour final, to Anders in Indonesia master, his teammates Nishimoto in Malaysia master at the first round. It's quite surprising to see how the way he lost by a large margin like that. This would be a big confidence boost for him at this difficult time.

    • @SuperSasaboy
      @SuperSasaboy 5 років тому +1

      @@hoavu4430 what do you mean by unstable? In the MS, he is the most consistent player in the world right now. Including the 2018 grand finale, he manage to go 4 finale out of 5 tournament play. I do feel suprise tht he lost to Shi with a really big margin, but at the end of the day no matter how good they are as a player, the one who play better during the match will prevail.

    What a great match..
    Viktor’s efforts was a joy to watch but it would always be very hard to win.
    The problem for Viktor (or advantage for Kento) is that the Japanese just can play his basic game while Viktor has to adapt and attack more wildly than against anyone else. Very similar to the Federer-Nadal rivalry in tennis where Federer always has been the one who needed to adapt and go for the winners.
    Because Viktor is fit. But as a 1.95 guy he just doesn’t have the stamina (on a badminton court) to run with Kento’s basic game for 90 minutes. He HAS to find the winners and take chances.
    Tactically, I really enjoyed how Viktor covered his deep forehand a lot of times to be able go for the kills but it’s difficult to keep up. He will inevitably get it wrong at times and being forced to run.
    Antonsen (for example) is not as strong in attack but is not bothered by Kento’s basic game the same way so Kento is forced a little bit more out of his comfort zone. That’s why the young Dane could win in Indonesia (apart from all other tactical decisions).
    Still, all in all, Kento is definitely the best right now and it takes some effort to beat him.

      Not sure if the players really are distracted by the sound although I agree during play it should be quiet.

    Momota is absolutely out of this world like Lin Dan used to in the MS, and Axelsen right now is like a new LCW, beated other players like Lin Dan LCW Chen Long in 2016,2017 (before knee surgery) and Antonsen recently convincingly, but lost to the one and only Kento Momota 11 times now

      Momota isn't as cocky as LD though. He's so much more humble than all other players, even more so than LCW in my opinion.
