1930s Wyandotte Twin Engine Army Airplane Airacuda Military Plane

- This weeks video is a simple restoration of a small twin engine 1930s Wyandotte Airacuda Military airplane. I chose this one this week due to a large project I am working on for the next upload, I needed something relatively easy for this one. I purchased this one with a lot of other airplanes that were all in similar condition. I didn't realize until after I powder coated this one that it is actually missing the rear tail fins. I will end up stripping this plane and correcting it later once I know the correct shape and size of tail fins. Overall I enjoyed this small restoration and am super excited for the restoration coming in two weeks. Thanks for watching!

The propellers need the pitch twisting back into the blades. They ended up too flat.
It makes me sleep a little better at night to know that someone capable is bringing all kinds of old things ....especially toys, old cars, trucks and motorcycles back to such amazing condition. Thanks for all your hard work.
I really wish UA-cam had a "❤" button for reactions. That color is just freaking AWESOME!!
Never going to be a great model, but you gave it just as much care and respect as if it was something special. Well done.
Hope you can get the tail fin sorted out in due course.
A New Life for this little plane
Happy Sunday, 🌎 world.
Good morning Chip 👋 another great video. Thanks. 👍
A simple but great job.
Wow! Look at all those toys you still haven’t done. I would love to just sit here and binge watch you do them, just for hours and hours! Especially the trucks!
Another well done project Chip…not to mention your impressive restored collection…so impressed with your talent.🇨🇦
Some stars with the red circle in the center which was pre-war and early WW2 markings would look great on it. As always, great job and it's great to see the sheep back.
Love it. Kitty gives it scale!
What a cool collection you have!
A good job as always the plane is ready to fly again.
It was so TINY!!!
The thumbnail... I thought it was bigger... but when it was "towed" from the yard... OH, it is SO CUTE!!!
😁
I wish they made toys like this now a days
Thank you great friend. did an excellent job. I left my like. And I already signed up.
Very cool 😎👍🏻 Love those simple toys! 📸🇨🇦
Such a basic but a beautiful restoration!
Beautiful restoration good job mister well done
You need to add a small rubber wheel to the two downturned pieces at the end of the tail. Mine still has it. And the vertical stabilizers are missing. They must have broken off easily because mine are missing too.
I wish he'd seen this comment. :')
@@Jerepasaurus I
I was also going to point out the same missing parts…..
I thought I saw a small hole on the bottom of that bottom rear part…..
Yeah, my first reaction was, didn't the tail have a vertical fin? Given the lack of a slot for it on the model, it must have been attached in a really weird way.
@@josepherhardt164 From the looks of mine, the vertical tail stabilizers were at the end of the horizontal stablizers. Bent up off the end. Like an L.
@@paulbeck6410 That makes sense; thanks.
Beautiful collection and craftsmanship. Thank you for your attention to detail.
I'm so waiting for the day you do the Truck with the Carousel on the back.
Beaker is getting bigger! Always there for the final inspection.
Cracking job on the Airacuda. There's nothin quite as drab as Olive Drab but it wouldn't look right if it was shiny... Thank you!
Love the sheep in your bone yard a really cool and cute idea
No sheep pilot! I’m devastated! Nice restoration as usual.
As always, you do an amazing job even on these "simple" pieces. I'm in awe of how you turn rust back into a toy! And, of course, LONG LIVE THE CYCLOPEEP!
Cats make everything instantly better.
Typically beautiful work.
Your kitty is beautiful. I love seeing her/him at the end of each video. Also your work is amazing. You are very talented.
I like watching how sand blasting removes decades of rust in seconds.
It's amazing that it didn't take long, to fix this old iron toy twin engine WWII transport airplane ✈
Ah, a kitty, sheep, and a restoration. Great way to spend a Sunday.
Great way to spend any day
you did a great job restoring the military airplane.
This was made at a toy factory in my hometown of Wyandotte, MI! Awesome restoration!
Looks great Chip!! Hell of a job restoring it!!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
It was beautiful, Chip!! 🐑🐑
Your work is always great 👍
Now that’s a toy collection. 👍
Amazing after the sand blasting there seems to be very little pitting.
Happy Halloween 🎃 🤪 😜 😋 everyone ,,Awesome job again thanks for sharing my friend 👌
Your restorations and content production always merits a “Thumbs Up” before I even take the time to watch them, Chip! 👍👍👍 ~John
Love to see a toy that says made in the u.s.a.
From wrecks to ravishing restores
Looks awesome as usual Chip! Great restoration!
Nice restore, Chip!
Winner! First day of winter and something hypnotic to brighten an otherwise crappy day. 😉
OFF ALL THE FOLKS THAT RESTORE VEHICLES, BOATS AND PLANES, I THINK YOU ARE THE MOST METICULOUS OF ALL TAKING GREAT CARE AND PRIDE IN YOUR WORK.
Congratulation chip Channel the Fábio and Rafael from Brazil. The best restauration.
Imagine the little kid who once owned this plane and the excitement on their face if they were able to see this toy restored!
Awesome collection
Thank you for the tour!
Well, at least there wasn't like a thousand parts! And no sheep were harmed! 🤣LOL I still love sandblasting! And still love watching these videos.
Another great restoration. Noticed you have a model train in the project pile. Love to see that done please
Beautiful job!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
…but I’m still waiting for the carousel!!! 🎠😞
Even the small jobs are relaxing. I am curious, why did you decide to flatten the props, rather than keep the angle on the blades?
I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for asking.
The props were originally flat loke that. I have one and they are also flat.
Nice job as always… can’t wait to see the next one
Meanwhile , the tip of your screwdriver must be very shiny. Always love to see the sheep.👍👍😀
Precioso ,quedo nuevo ! Y el gatito también hermoso,! Tengo dos !🐱🐱😁🙋🏻♀️
me encantan tus videos, has restaurado muchos juguetes...quedan geniales
Watch for the skill, stay for the treats!
Fabulous & The Cat....... Divine
You shouldn't tow a plane without a tail wheel! ;) my wife and I in our late 40s watch these every day. Best channel and you have so many cool tools. You should give a tour of your shop.
Holy moly, that car and truck collection at the end is just head spinning. Might not be much to all these youngsters, but I grew up in the 60s and seeing all those classic cars and trucks I use to play with is indescribably awesome.
Mind boggling collection...
Plane won't fly. Pitch of the propellers in off - non-existent. However, they will spin nicely. Now on to important items. I love your videos. I have gone back and watched all of them. Thank you.
Had my eye on her for awhile. Nice!
Er hat die Propeller zerstört! 😱
He destroyed the propellers! 😱
Very cool chip love all of them Lee
Wow! Thats very interesting! I've never seen an airplane with props on the back of the engines. Very nice restore, indeed. :)
There have been many planes with props on the back including the 1903 Wright Flyer, the Northrup XB-35 Flying Wing and the Curtiss-Wright XP-55 Ascendeer. Jokes were probably made about the Ascender name as soon as the plane was designed.
@@henrychubbs2823 This is the plane the model is named for: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_YFM-1_Airacuda
@@henrychubbs2823 They were. They called it the "Ass-ender".
It's called a pusher-prop
sand blasters the best scence sliced bread
I have the same airplane. I found it in an old dump in the woods . also a couple of Wyandotte trucks. Great job as usual
Thank you , CCR .
I like how the model changed from green to yellow magically at the end. Hmmm....
И в малой работе Вы Молодец, Chip! 👍🧡🍂
Это видео, как разминочка перед генеральным выступлением. С нетерпением ждём!
Great Work!!👍
Looks great well done.
Great job as always!!
It was a good restoration
I think it would be better if you used two colors
You always do the most wonderful job restoring them.I look foward to when you post a new video.
excellent work
Комментарий в поддержку канала и ролика, а также труда мастера отреставрировавшего этот игрушечный самолёт.
The real thing was a very interesting aeroplane. It had explosive bolts on the propellers so they could be blown off if the crew had to bail-out, otherwise they risked being cut to pieces!
Excellent job as usual !!!!!
Thank you for sharing !!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Oh and your cat looks very very SPOILED!!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Обожаю жестяные игрушки!
UV glue is the bomb.
You have a great cat.
Strong work!
Love it, I'm happy to see the sheep back in the junkyard lol and kitty's final inspection is cool too, great work Chip, hope to see another soon
I can imagine the joy that cool airplane brought to some little boy back in the 1930s. I wish I could have been that kid.- reading comic books, listening to radio shows like The Shadow, Dick Tracy......nice.
Nice plane! But I have a question. Why do you always flatten the propellers? They seem to have a correct shape, blades are set at an angle to the airflow, so they could rotate when you blow on them , or "fly" the plane around :)
Not all of them seemed to be made with angled props. This one looked the first of his collection that had any angle, but not consistently. They were likely just bent around over the years, maybe even by the owner trying to angle them appropriately as the real things should be.
Looks great as usual but I'm pretty sure those prop blades were twisted purposefully to mimic the real thing.
That's an interesting looking unique plane nice work on this plane. I enjoyed this video on this restoration.
LOVE LOVE LOVE ALL YOUR RESTORED VEHICLES ❤️
THEY ALL BRING BACK MEMORIES
I hope to see a video someday of you restoring that yellow payloader from the intro :)
That is an interesting design! You picked a great color to restore this old army gem!
Just wanted to Thank You for taking the time to share your hobby with others. You do an amazing job, and it is a pleasure to watch you work. Love your presentation, the results and the cat approvals :)
A great recovery to as is cleaned up. My dad had one of these. Only needs a small tail wheel pressed into the tail skid and vertical stabilizers added on the rear wings.
I love watching these videos, they're relaxing and I tend to watch before bed to kinda lul me to sleep... But for the love of crispy chicken, what is it with the cute little sheeps? 😂
i seriously cant wait until that whole pile is restored!!! itd be sooo satisfying and beautifully well done by you!
