My biggest worry is how tired we looked on Thursday. Players like Dalot and Eriksen are approaching burnout at this stage and with Villa having a whole week to prepare we could really struggle by the second half. My gut says a draw but I really hope we can grab a couple of goals early on then hold on later in the game.
No way he’s just putting Eriksen and Casemiro in Mid when they’ve got runners like McGinn and Ramsay in theirs. Will be Casemiro, Fred and Eriksen just ahead. If Sancho and Martial still out I’d like to see Garnacho LW Rashford ST and Antony RW

I like that formation better, Fred, Casemiro and Eriksen should control the midfield, away from home against a team with a new manager I don't think we should risk 2 up front.

You didn’t mention the fact that tomorrow is Chelsea v Arsenal and Tottenham v Liverpool so if we can seal the 3 points we are guaranteed to make up ground on our rivals, there is no bad result for us in those 2 games.

It’s still Aton Villa and Villa Park where we have an excellent record. Also I don’t think we have faced an Emery side when we have had a proper manager ourselves, now we have a real tactician.

Going to be tough against Villa and Fulham,it’s important we stay in the race going into the World Cup break,he could play Garnacho on the right with Rashford on the left.
Think by far other than the big matches this fixture is the most watched but Emery has these tactics and he has a good CV with Sevilla, PSG and Villarreal.

i think his either gonna try and trust donny and play him a bit in form and start him as a CAM with casemiro and eriksen behind OR his gonna start eriksen as a CAM with Fred and casemiro behind him. I kind of hope he starts donny and gets him going, but i feel like for utd its more safe to start fred and play eriksen as the CAM.
I think he will put fred or mctominay alongside casemiro with rasford on the left.

It's the lack of threat up top again that worries me. Fully have faith in every other part of the squad but the attack is far too wishy washy atm.

I'll be honest. I still worry. But I'm not as afraid of us losing matches anymore since eth has come in. We're a much better team this year and it's just taking time for us to get used to it. Barring the city match, every one since Brentford we have deserved to win

I would love to see Casemiro paired with either Fred or Donnie this game. Eriksen has looked quite tired and I would like us to protect him. Especially last game he was bad IMO. If we go with a 4-4-2 I can see Bruno play next to Casemiro as well. I would also like to see AWB instead of Dalot. Bailey is a very fast winger and introducing AWB, just to do a job, would be good IMO. I consider Dalot the much better footballer but IMO we need to give Antony more cover as Digne and Bailey are a very aggressive flank.

Good ebening Ste. I'm surprised at the teamsheet you put up. I can't see Ronny or Garnacho starting. My guess is Fred (playing as an 8) and Elanga (LW) playing instead and going 4-3-3

I think Maguire will start, Villa are physical and can carry a massive aerial threat. Hence Slabby. I can see McTominay ahead of Fred alongside Casimero then Eriksen at CAM. I hope Sancho is fit. Garnacho did great but can't play twice in a row. Sancho's experience. Can play a 4-4-2 too.
Think he'll go, Ericsson as a 10 behind Ronny. Rashy on the left with Mc Tom and Casemiro holding a higher defensive line.

This manager takes risks and will give players ample opportunity to earn time. Donny started 13 minutes before last match, and Ten Haag trusted him to start. He trusted Lindelof, and he trusted Garnacho. All 3 will be seeing time this season and I fully believe Donny will be getting time under this manager as deputy to both Eriksen and Bruno

Bruno will be a massive miss. His energy and link up is vital. Hopefully Erikson at the 10 and garnacho RW.

Bruno gets out of the game a lot by going forward, he should look at how de bruyne plays more and go towards the ball to create.
@@J040PL7 They are different players though, Bruno has always scored more than De Bruyne and gotten into the box more. Also, Ten Hag has said that Bruno is playing how he wants Bruno to play. And it's similar to how Ten Hag utilised VDB while at Ajax, it seems he likes his 10 to make runs beyond the striker. I do agree it wouldn't hurt to have Bruno drop a bit deeper and form a trident with Eriksen and Casemiro though.
I don’t believe Erik will use this information for Villa they will control that midfield and we will be in a lot of trouble

If he runs a 4-4-2 with the players you line up, Ste, that would be a third formation in two matches. I don't see it happening.
That being said: this formation could work quite well. Having 6 sitting back-ish who can put together some "slick" passing would be a caveat. Moreover, Rashford and Ronny up front could be -- COULD be -- magical. This is going to sound like a joke, but having Marcus shoot directly at the keeper, having it bounce, and then CR7 poach it, has serious potential. It's not a terrible strategy!
The question becomes, "If it works tomorrow, does the same work in the following match, or do United go back to its 4-2-3-1 with Bruno inserted in just a few days?" It's an interesting "problem" to have.
Expect a 442. That is what emery default formation. Without antony that right wing looks trash, a right back and right wing have to be priority in january.

We have a chance to win this league this season & Ronaldo knows this but EtH is preventing him from seeking this so at present he doesn't want to give Ronaldo a good send off in his last season with the club.

@@raymondggmu6207 Ronaldo actions indicates that they had spoken but EtH had dismissed him. EtH initially ignored him so he tried to get away before the season started but as we know the other clubs couldn't afford him.
Maybe that's part of the reasons he didn't go to pre season. To Us the reason we're 14points down cos of EtH & not Ronaldo so the sooner a truce is applied for the betterment of the Club the better of we'll be!
