Looking through the wiki, I found out something interesting. While Nuclear type moves deal 2x damage to all types except Steel, it is also 2x weak to *EVERY* type, except Poison, which is 1x effective.
I really don't think he should. Nucleon is extremely strong and can wipe entire teams. My nucleon can wipe teams 10 levels ahead of it with hypervoice. It would make is play-through kind of boring. I personally think he should use Theriamp (hair fossil) for his electric type.
theriamp takes a while to make it usable. you don't get strength til legen town and training up slothohm from lv1 to 40 takes ages nucleon is kind of an easy win but considering how easy it is to train one up it's not a bad idea to have one as a back up
Quality game design is assured when you give the player mostly stuff that's weak to Ground, then proceed to flood the game with Ground-types. Also, Grozard which learns *BULLDOZE at level 12.* Completely fair and balanced.
Oh, of course not. My problem isn't the move itself but the fact that it's _earlygame STAB Bulldoze_ being used against you as early as before Gym 2, at a time when most of the earlygame 'mons- including _2 of the starters_ - are weak to Ground. Plus it lowers speed, so if you're not already faster it will be spammed relentlessly. I'm just saying it would be nicer if it learned the move at a slightly higher level, in my opinion, or had it substituted for something weaker that one would expect to see in earlygame, like maybe Mud-Slap. Game balance is important, man. :y

The Bealbeach gym doesn't really portray the idea of being a place surrounded by a beach until the gym leader. The content leading up to it is just a repeated room of trainers.
@ScykohPlays It's also neat when you go through an area that has pokemon strong against the next gym. Gen 5 has this. You go through Route 4, the desert route, before getting to Nimbasa, which has an electric type gym. And you go through Chargestone Cave, which has electric types, before going to Mistralton City, which has a flying type gym.
SCYKOH!! The mega evolution stone for Archilles is at the top floor of the bealbeach department store. Only on monday though, but you can change your computer time if you wanna cheat.
Strictly for seeing new pokemon, the grass/elec type should be added. Mareep is actually a pretty common pokemon in teams because hes so solid once evolved.
Hey Scykoh, if you register people in your pokepod, you can rematch them and their level scales with yours. If you ever feel like you're running behind on levels they can help you catch up really easily. Another thing, an electric/ground type you could use is the hair fossil (sloth) once you get strength (little bit of backtracking). It isn't far away from your point, it can also have an ability that turns normal type attacks to electric.
Baashaun's final form gets a mega evolution and his stone is in a cave somewhere near the 6th gym, you access mega evolution pretty late in the game though, you'll know when.
But what if trevor can learn thunderbolt? Also most of the pokemon have double types so mareep (yellow) could struggle on the water type pokemon bc some of them may have ground, rock, grass etc. as second type if you know what i mean :/
For your Electric-type I recommend you wait until after the 8th gym and get a Volchick. Downside is that you WILL need an Electric-type for a portion of the game before that because it's just that good. But I think if your levels are high enough you can make do without one just fine as well.
Playing as I watched this, don't know if you can mega-evolve yet, but I found the mega stone for baashauns finale evolved form, and that was after the sixth gym. Mareep and baashaun combo is cool, but i feel like you should wait a bit before adding it, or at least, focus on the other members of your team for a while
scycoh alot of pokemon are part ground type so maybe mareep might not be such a good idea. also he is an old pokemon. i think either the nuclear eevee or the egg pokemon
If you want an electric pokemon you have some really good options later in the game, I would suggest that you stay at 5 and level them good and then get like Volchik or Hagoop later on. But if you really want it now, go for the Egg (Nupin) he's awesome. fyi: if you choose to go for mareep, you can mega evolve after the 7th badge €: Your Baariette will learn an awesome physical dark move at 50ish
If you're talking about Foul Play, it says it has 95 base power but the truth is it scales with the opponent's attack stat. Crunch is the better alternative I think, which can be taught via the dentist in the snow town where the 7th gym is.
You should use The grass/type move o you can resist much more thing whit that avantage (fly and grouds) but if you want to resist nucleair pokemon you will prefer to use mareep beacuse it only have 1 type so that cool Ps : Baashaun can mega-Evolve in this game
The post game... quite a lot to do there, mainly consisting of sidequests and catching legendaries. Also, which version of the game are you playing? I know of some places (one of them where you'll be heading next) where the game crashes when talking to certain people. this might be fixed in the latest version but I can't go back there to check so as a warning: Save as soon as you get on the boat. EDIT: I've checked out another spot I knew the game had crashed when I was playing the previous version, and (while I'm playing on the latest version) it still did.
Rock Pokémon in generation 1: Geodude, Graveler, Golem, Onix, Rhyhorn, Rhydon, Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops, Aerodactyl All hybrids, no pure rock-types; that didn't happen until Sudowoodo in generation 2.
I totally have to agree with the gyms not really having any cool new pokemon. Just cut back the number of trainers and give them some cool unseen pokemon at this point in the game. Also I had a ampaharos in a gold randomizer and was awesome, but it would be cool to see something new.
I'd say go with Mareep, even though you're trying to incorporate new Pokemon to your team. Also, uncut/post-commentary videos are pretty good, don't worry about having to make one every now and then.
The most common Speed Tier is the Base 100. A lot of Pokemon have that Speed. So you Base 100 Speed Pokemon out speed less than you think. But Speed Boost helps. Dark/Fighting is 4X Weak to Fairy. And Base 85 in a Stat is okay. A lot of good Pokemon work with Base 85 in a Stat. Gliscor walls well with only Base 75 HP. But that is kind of based on Gliscor's Ground/Flying type being weird. Most people run this Gliscor. Careful Nature 244 HP/6 Defense/200 Special Defense/56 Speed. Poison Heal as the Ability. The moves depend on what version of the set you want. I also wanted to bring up most commonly used Ghost moves are Special Attacks But Shadow Claw,Shadow Punch and Shadow Sneak are Physical Attacks. Most commonly used Bug moves are Physical. The most commonly used Dark moves are Physical as well. But Dark Pulse is common on Special Attack users. Also Dragon/Steel does not need good Defense or Special Defense. That type combo is overall really tanky. It's one of the best types. It resist most types.
rofl, it probably became painfully obvious once you saw me run back to the Pokemon Center for the billionth time. x] Those were going to be cut out originally.
I'd say Nupin over Mareep. It's kind of weird, but it's cool. And if you don't mind adding another psychic type and another steel type, S51 is awesome.
This episode is like a special feature on a DVD.
Scykoh, teach return to Dunsparce already!
Please upvote this so he sees it. >_>
Yeah you should
And giga impact
you said upvote not like it seems you've been on Reddit to much
Wango Fett Wait, you mean this isn't reddit??
yeah and I hope you're being sarcastic.
I'm glad you didn't skip the episode; plus, a longer uncut episode was a nice change of pace.
Looking through the wiki, I found out something interesting. While Nuclear type moves deal 2x damage to all types except Steel, it is also 2x weak to *EVERY* type, except Poison, which is 1x effective.
Use Nucleon! It's a new Eeveelution that's the Nuclear type.
you'll cover your weakness, have a good Pokemon, and it will be a new Pokemon!
YES
I really don't think he should. Nucleon is extremely strong and can wipe entire teams. My nucleon can wipe teams 10 levels ahead of it with hypervoice. It would make is play-through kind of boring. I personally think he should use Theriamp (hair fossil) for his electric type.

But Nuclear pokemon are 2x weak towards all other types, though.
28:14 Gym Leader Cali looks like Gym Leader Janine in the Kanto reign part of Heartgold and Soulsilver.
Yeah Ur right
Scyckoh: Take..... CARE!!!!!
Game: Can't use that here.
Me: OMG LOL
20:19 that savage fisherman
Pokemon Uranium Version? More like Pokemon Ground Version.
Quality game design is assured when you give the player mostly stuff that's weak to Ground, then proceed to flood the game with Ground-types.

Cuz Bulldoze is op? I don't think so

*POKÉMON GROUNANIUM.*
Use Mareep! I love the Mareep line, and it goes so well with Baashaun.
Nickname Mareep Baashaun
+mechashadow He already did.
Lol. He got excited telling us that this was his first time taking a bathroom break while recording.
I'd vote for the electric grass type pokemon.
I concur
me too
I second that
Criticals go through defense buffs
Title should be 'Scykoh's manifesto on gym trainer standards' lol
Use the new Pokemon! I love seeing them!
Yeah
yeee
+GamePlayMadBros. Ofc he will
I enjoy this raw & uncut video format more than the regular episodes
mareep and baashaun. at least your using baashaun when I saw the typing I knew it was badass
I have to say the rambling commentary was actually really enjoyable reminds me of my favorite youtuber before he quit
who is your favorite you tuber?
his name is Slowflake, did a lot of Pokemon Let's Plays where he talked about the meta and general news
No way that's awesome :D
20:17 YOU ABSOLUTE MONSTER
1. you get megas after the 7th gym
2.if you dont need the electric typ immideatly you can catch a poison/electric pokemon before the 5th gym
2019?
I really love post commentary
The Bealbeach gym doesn't really portray the idea of being a place surrounded by a beach until the gym leader. The content leading up to it is just a repeated room of trainers.
I want to see you use the Uranium type pokemon
The post commentary is a great solution for future glitched/broken audio recordings.
Yay I'm so glad you're using Baashaun! He's my favorite design so far in this game.
I really like this long, post-commentary stuff. You should do more!
If this was cut, it would have been 10-15 minutes lol.
@ScykohPlays It's also neat when you go through an area that has pokemon strong against the next gym. Gen 5 has this. scykoh I love this series thus far I hope we can see a lot more of this series in the future...also I'm eating tortilla chips...tostitos to be exact
your voice makes me crave em for some strange reason
Strictly for seeing new pokemon, the grass/elec type should be added. Mareep is actually a pretty common pokemon in teams because hes so solid once evolved.
oh my gawd, the episode name
That's the first thing I thought...
Dylan Singewald YA NASTEE
Dylan Singewald was looking for this comment loll
like this concept better than skipping an episode
I'd go for mareep! I may be biased though, Ampharos is my favorite pokémon.
It's actually electric/rock, so it would have a quad weakness to ground and I think he's trying to avoid that.
in the 1st region you also have these rock-types: omanyte, aerodactyl and kabuto
Ampharos is Bada $$ go for it Scykoh!
Ever going to do nuts and bolts
Baashaun's final form gets a mega evolution and his stone is in a cave somewhere near the 6th gym, you access mega evolution pretty late in the game though, you'll know when.
Brailip
Brain because he has a big brain
Brail because he has no eyes (or does he?!)
Lip because he has a big lip
Oh....... :3
No. Its just Brain and lip
get the grass/electric, that way in case you find a water type not weak to electric (like water/ground) you have a backup plan
when does bralip evolve
Doesn't he have a Geodude instead of a Diglett?
Dude use actual Mareep too, they can be like gosh dang bros for life!
That would be GOSH DARN BAD BUNS MAAAAN!!
Brailip is the new Dunsparce
Hey Scykoh you can trade a Fortog for a Baashawn if you want to go back and do that it will get boosted exp off the trade.
i vote for egg pokemon vut there also is another pokemon i think you can get which is the eeveelution uranium type
but*
But what if trevor can learn thunderbolt? Also most of the pokemon have double types so mareep (yellow) could struggle on the water type pokemon bc some of them may have ground, rock, grass etc. as second type if you know what i mean :/
I like this style. You should do more post-commentary. It allows you to be more entertaining and informative.
I second that, I love this style, it's so much more entertaining :D
For your Electric-type I recommend you wait until after the 8th gym and get a Volchick. Downside is that you WILL need an Electric-type for a portion of the game before that because it's just that good. But I think if your levels are high enough you can make do without one just fine as well.
Oh my goodness, Bulbasaur is a hero. His brave sacrifice will be remembered for generations to come. ;~;7
Dunsparce dosnt evolve by lvl but by learning a move
captain flys away
I like the rambley commentary
Playing as I watched this, don't know if you can mega-evolve yet, but I found the mega stone for baashauns finale evolved form, and that was after the sixth gym. Mareep and baashaun combo is cool, but i feel like you should wait a bit before adding it, or at least, focus on the other members of your team for a while
ooooo get the electric grass that was a life saver on my team he bodies ground types :D
I like how gyms aren't just types, but he has a point that its kind of lame to have the same things at gyms as everywhere else.
missed the 3 fossil types as they were all rock but yea there only 6 in gen 1
the egg one please
any link to download? preferably no viruses. :)
Use Mareep but hatch the egg anyway because if you talk to the woman who gives you the egg after you hatch it you get the TM for Shock Wave
After the last gymbattle
"TAKE CARE!"
"Can't use that here."
Great now I'm stuck being reckless until tomorrow.
Critical Hits ignore defense/ spez. defense boost
The Mareep and Baashaun duo is too good, use them both!
scycoh alot of pokemon are part ground type so maybe mareep might not be such a good idea. also he is an old pokemon. i think either the nuclear eevee or the egg pokemon
Also, use the electric-grass type because it is new.

wow I am a goof, I actually never read that, just changed that to Crunch D: thanks for the advice ^-^
Use the mareep, it would be rather difficult to level the grass electric and its typing is not great.
the gen I fossil pokemon are also Rock types, so you missed those :)
there is TONS of post game in xy, for those of u who plan 2 get it. btw, would u get x or y? and what starter? me- fennekin.
You should use The grass/type move o you can resist much more thing whit that avantage (fly and grouds) but if you want to resist nucleair pokemon you will prefer to use mareep beacuse it only have 1 type so that cool
Ps : Baashaun can mega-Evolve in this game
Skykho, are you going to do a Pokemon sum/moon lets play like you did with x etc.. I would really enjoy that!
The post game... quite a lot to do there, mainly consisting of sidequests and catching legendaries.

EDIT: I've checked out another spot I knew the game had crashed when I was playing the previous version, and (while I'm playing on the latest version) it still did.
I think you should add mareep
y u no make glichtfest anymore?
Mareep
USE mareep its my top fav pokemon plz use it
13:21 JUST MONICA
So did you teach Dunsparce Return yet?
Couldn't he just put a Pokemon on his team that had teleport to fill that empty slot and cut down on the trips to the Pokemon centre?
Do the electric/grass type.
dosent want to spoil the name of brailips evolution, gym leader said it
yay
Rock Pokémon in generation 1:
Geodude, Graveler, Golem, Onix, Rhyhorn, Rhydon, Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops, Aerodactyl

New
VIDEO
Use the egg Pokemon pls! Grass is my favorite type, haha :D
Yeah, Nupin is cool. And also weird. It's a giant amoeba...
Crazy Dragon Whoops, there goes the name spoiler :P Oh well, I think Mareep is going to be chosen anyways.
It actually took me a moment before remembering that this is post commentary. xD
rofl, it probably became painfully obvious once you saw me run back to the Pokemon Center for the billionth time. x] Those were going to be cut out originally.
You also took a bathroom break during one of the streams recently, Scykoh. Lol. No worries though, bro, we still love you. :D
He was saying it's the first time he took a bathroom break while recording for LPs, he acknowledges that he takes bathroom breaks in streams lol
Necrossady Oh. Lol. My bad.
Scykoh, get Stenowatt on route 14. It's a pure electric.
I'd say Nupin over Mareep. It's kind of weird, but it's cool. And if you don't mind adding another psychic type and another steel type, S51 is awesome.
Hey scykoh lookin forward to a good eps
I CAN'T BEAT THIS GYM
use the egg pokemon instead of mareep. grass electric would help it against ground+mareep it too similar to baashaun.
You get the ability to use mega evolution when you beat the 7th gym.
HYPE FOR BAASHAUN
