Mine arrived 2 days ago and I can definitely vouch for the nFEP. It's actually amazing how much better it is compared to FEP, even if used with PTFE lube. Only downside is that I now don't know if my print hasn't failed yet using the popping sound and build plate bounce it did before :D
nfep (non-fep) is just a rebrand of PFA. The flexibility of FEP is actually more beneficial for layer separation. However, the tradeoff would be the lifetime of the film. If you want to save the cost, just get some PFA. If you want to have higher yield, especially when printing dedicated objects, FEP is still better.
NFEP fitting question for you that i can't see asked / answered anywhere; judging the tension. For most FEP fitting i can see that you can gauge the tension by it being 330hz or so when struck. Does NFEP work to the same register or does is slightly different chemistry mean a different ideal register? (I ask because i'm barely getting 200hz even though it seems pretty darn taut!)
I'm ordering some NFEP for my Proxima (thanks again for that review), and I was just curious if you thought the NFEP would benefit from the PTFE lubricant. Thanks for the helpful reviews!
I have only been able to find 1 seller of the nfap in the EU, and they want 30 euro's for 1 sheet of this fep. That 36 usd. For 1 sheet. I can get 5 quality sheets for less then 25usd. For me the price difference is not worth it. I don't use vroom and I don't make items for sale either. If the price was alot more reasonable and I dont feel like I'm being taken for a ride i might try it out at some point. But nice to see a video on this product, at least it helps to make an informed decision
I found using baking plastic works just as fine, but you have to cut to size yourself, WAAAAY cheaper and is availible in all supermarkets :D I know it's PE platic, and NOT FEP, but it still works.. using it on my Photon 4k,,
Have you noticed an absence of the popping sound the usual FEP makes? I sure do in my Mono SE with nFEP, I can't hear anything, and i'm not entirely sure if that's a good thing or not.
i dont know what is happening, everyone is having success with this nfep, but since i switched my 2 longer orange 30's to this nfep i have been having fail after fail.
HI, I was going to try a thicker FEP on my tray (not so delicate when cleaning), but now I'm concerned about it not having the required flex that you mentioned in your video. How important do you think this issue is, especially if I put the 2 screen protectors on which would level up the screen a bit more?
Can i ask what resin you are using? I use a voxelab proxima, and cannot get any prints to work under like 3.5-4 second exposure time per layer and a 40 second bottom exposure time (with 6-8 bottom layers).
You aren't going to find one already in a VAT. The fep that comes in the Soval vats is good. geni.us/PhotonMonoTrayUpgrade and when you are ready to replace it you can use this NFEP geni.us/EPAX-NFEP-Small
I have a question. If I install a nFEP on a Mars Pro do I still have to use some type of spacer like installing a standard FEP or no? All of the videos I've seen for an nFEP show no type of spacer but I haven't found one for installing on a Mars Pro.
I cringe when I hear - "not good enough to sell, it goes in the scrap pile" .. those are perfect failures to use as terrain pieces, wreckage and blown up vehicles! Sell them at 1/3rd cost as tank wreckage.

Thanks for the test. You're doing all the mono x research in advance for me!
nFEP is just PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy alkanes). You can buy it sheets and rolls from various suppliers at a fraction of the cost.
Mine arrived 2 days ago and I can definitely vouch for the nFEP. It's actually amazing how much better it is compared to FEP, even if used with PTFE lube. Only downside is that I now don't know if my print hasn't failed yet using the popping sound and build plate bounce it did before :D

Ever think about selling the failed prints as battle damaged?

Hello: have you ever needed to use the ‘’Ptfe’’ lube with the nfep? Does the nfep last longer or shorter, is it more durable? Thanks
I'm ordering some NFEP for my Proxima (thanks again for that review), and I was just curious if you thought the NFEP would benefit from the PTFE lubricant. Thanks for the helpful reviews!
I do apply it, even to NFEP. It’s hard to tell if it helps. But it is certainly a lot quieter.
I have only been able to find 1 seller of the nfap in the EU, and they want 30 euro's for 1 sheet of this fep. That 36 usd. For 1 sheet. I can get 5 quality sheets for less then 25usd. FYI: Fepshop sells the EPAX X1 pack with 3 sheets that he's talking about in this vid for about 30 eur. Should hopefully receive mine early this week.
@@DR01D5 Can you provide a lick,. because the only one I could find was 1 sheet for 30 euros, and I'm not going to pay that. Not going to happen
@@sprocket5526 Here you go: www.fepshop.com/shop/fep/fep-alternatives/non-fep-film-sheets-x1/
Did you try the option for EPax direct in the link? Do they not ship to you directly?
@@DR01D5 thats for the smaller printers.. not the mono x. The x10 is 30 for one film. Not worth it.
I found using baking plastic works just as fine, but you have to cut to size yourself, WAAAAY cheaper and is availible in all supermarkets :D
I know it's PE platic, and NOT FEP, but it still works.. using it on my Photon 4k,,
What is baking plastic?
Are you referring to cellophane? Turkey bags? Cake collars? I'm intrigued.
Epax make this available in the EU at a decent price ...pleaseeee
Do you still use PTFE to lube while using nFEP or is that not necessary anymore?
Have you noticed an absence of the popping sound the usual FEP makes? I sure do in my Mono SE with nFEP, I can't hear anything, and i'm not entirely sure if that's a good thing or not.
I notice much smoother print as well.
Sadly it doesn't look like you can get this nFEP in Canada. :
I read somewhere that nFEP really is PFA and not a "proprietary blend", can you comment?
I get my Sonic Mighty 4K & Luna Cura next week! Finally! 👍 Have some Phrozen nFEP for that and my Sonic Mini 4K.
Mine arrives Wednesday!
you should try ACF instead, people say it is even better than NFEP
How come you have exposure time 1.4s!? Is it just for Proxima 6? How about Anycubic Photon Mono? I need to have 5.5-6s exposure on my Photon :|
Is there any nfep for peopoly phenom L
i dont know what is happening, everyone is having success with this nfep, but since i switched my 2 longer orange 30's to this nfep i have been having fail after fail.
Have you success with the print’s previously with the old fep,The new nfep maybe too tight or not tight enough.
i've read in a question on amazon for the Epax NFEP asking how to clean the nFEP since you can't use alcohol to clean it. Is this true?
HI, I was going to try a thicker FEP on my tray (not so delicate when cleaning), but now I'm concerned about it not having the required flex that you mentioned in your video. How important do you think this issue is, especially if I put the 2 screen protectors on which would level up the screen a bit more?
what settings do you use on your mono x?
Can i ask what resin you are using? I use a voxelab proxima, and cannot get any prints to work under like 3.5-4 second exposure time per layer and a 40 second bottom exposure time (with 6-8 bottom layers).
I use anycube craftsman resin and runs great 3.5 and only doing 4 bottom layers at 40
Where can I buy a nfep for anycubic mono. One already attatched to a vat would be great
You aren't going to find one already in a VAT. The fep that comes in the Soval vats is good. geni.us/PhotonMonoTrayUpgrade
and when you are ready to replace it you can use this NFEP geni.us/EPAX-NFEP-Small
@@TrueEliteGeek hopefully my vat isnt the one thats glued together so a nfep upgrade will be easy enough
If you still have the one from the factory then it will be glued.
@@TrueEliteGeek yikes ill have to prob buy a new vat aswel then or risk ripping apart my glued one
I have a question. If I install a nFEP on a Mars Pro do I still have to use some type of spacer like installing a standard FEP or no? All of the videos I've seen for an nFEP show no type of spacer but I haven't found one for installing on a Mars Pro.
Nfep should be installed exactly like standard FEP.
which nFep is best to pick up for the proxima
Any of these for Mars 2 Pro?
The smaller nfep should fit fine.
The FEP is a thicker film.
Printed Tanks available at www.elitegeekminis.com STLs available at: bit.ly/GrimPrints
It's PFA, not FEP.
I cringe when I hear - "not good enough to sell, it goes in the scrap pile" .. those are perfect failures to use as terrain pieces, wreckage and blown up vehicles! Sell them at 1/3rd cost as tank wreckage.
Thats what my scrap pile is. I have a bunch of them in a box.
