Refugees selected for the Olympic team in Paris 2024

More than 100 million displaced people around the world will be represented by 36 athletes, selected from 24 scholarship holders, as members of the Olympic Refugee Team in Paris 2024. They originate from countries including Afghanistan, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and Eritrea. They'll complete in sports such as athletics, swimming, weightlifting, breaking, taekwondo and more. These are people like you and me, except they have been forced to flee their homes because of violence and conflict. I hope to bring you their stories from Paris 2024 so you get to know them as well as you know athletes from your own country.
