      From the highway design/curves, there is no stretch of I-70 I can think of that requires slowing down to 45 mph, only traffic volume causes that. They should tighten the curves to make it more fun and remove the guard rails to thin the herd

    • @Denverian
      @Denverian Місяць тому +3

      Right there where they are currently working has no shoulder + narrow steep downhill shallow bank that even 45 mph is a stretch for a lot of drivers + cars. It begs for a redesign + expansion.

    • @kevindowell6003
      @kevindowell6003 Місяць тому +9

      @@Denverian I am very familiar with that section of the highway, I don’t see drivers struggling to negotiate it. I get expansion as a reasonable project. I would throw out however that there are many stretches of I-70 and I-25 that have ruts, potholes and damage that will turn into potholes that create a more significant safety hazard and potential to damage vehicles than a couple of curves on a mountain road.

    Well I'm glad to hear this! I ended up in the median in my Subaru wagon about 40 years ago on the s-curve just before the tunnel approaching Idaho Springs. I misjudged the curve to the right. Things like this are easy to do when you have a new vehicle. I hope this plan works

      It's the bottleneck between Denver and the ski resorts to the west. On Friday night and Saturday morning, westbound traffic backs up for several miles, and on Sunday afternoons eastbound traffic backs up all the way to Georgetown and Silver Plume.

Whether you like it or not the Biden administration and the democratic control of the house pushed more funding thru congress then any republican controlled house ever has . It is called " a government working for the people "

    Our wonderful Government spent millions of dollars to build that road now they are spending another millions of dollars to change that road. Around the late 80's the RR took out the double track in Central Mn. to save money only the President lost millions of dollars then put the double track back around the year 2000 or close to it.

    Rarely do increased speeds relate to safer travel. Typically, they lead to or aggressive driver behavior in high traffic areas.
