I loved the old three. But chris is a different man and had his own style and way of doing things. Let him do his thing and thats what we all love about him.
The comparison between the Peugeot and the 911 was great. It's a great reminder of how different cars are now than they were a few decades back. I've never driven a Peugeot, but I did have a VW Super Beetle many years ago. That car could be summed up as 'Fun' (with a capital 'F'). The feel and the precision of the steering, and the gear box, and where the tires were ....was incredible. Modern cars will never duplicate that feeling. They are too heavy, too sophisticated, have too much comfort, and too many driver aids. All that stuff is great, and necessary, to handle the speed that modern cars are capable of. I would choose a 911 over a 30 or 40 year old VW or Peugeot, but I think we loose some 'Fun' with the high speeds and the sophistication. Any modern car is much faster, and much more sophisticated (brakes, suspension, etc.), than any 30 or 40 year old car - a new Honda Civic, say, compared to a 30 year old Civic - but that speed and the sophistication that it requires, makes cars heavier and makes for a less involved feeling. The thrill of driving a vintage VW, or Peugot, or Civic, down a twisty lane at 90 kph, has been replaced with the thrill of driving a modern Porsche, or Civic, down the same twisty lane at 160 kph. 'Fun' has been replaced with 'Serious".
Jon doe even if you don’t like him you don’t have to actively spread your hatred. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it, and keep your hateful, terrible opinions to yourself.
Chris is the only person keeping alive Top Gear now...no one else. I do not know for how long BBC is planning on keeping the show, or if it keeps going who is gonna be Chris's real partner. I mean someone who can really be there being authentic and capable as he is.
If you ever had a KW track suspension on your car you know how good it is. I know these guys know how to drive and they are really good at it, but it really surprises me when people talk about suspension like it’s a magic trick. If you ever installed and played with your own car suspension to make it a daily driver when needed and track monster when your taking it for track days, then you know it’s the money you payed and you are capable of making adjustments and you are capable of doing on rebounds and compression and hight. All that for different tracks and different strokes. All regular cars are soft and capable of takings the nasty bumps on the road because of all the soft rubber oiled bushings that factory engineers have designed for the cars that have ran a prototype car that has ran tests for like half a million miles to make sure it’s perfect before production. Yes cars that are stiff and built great from factory are bound to be great on the track. Every year Porsche has made their cars better and better, that’s not witchcraft, it’s called engineering 💪🇺🇸😁👍👍👍 Yes Chris is awesome 👏😎 And I love every car he drove it like he stole it on the track. 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Ford GT 40 GT 500 Shelby The new Corvette is awesome CAMARO IS AWESOME. my point is anyone who has a built track day car knows they most likely have to make the car stiffer and change the soft bushings to either solid or hard urethane, and thicker anti roll bars, perhaps shorter strokes for the suspension, run a different rebound and compression on every track, perhaps even different compound tires. And all that is not witchcraft, it’s race product that makes the car harsher to drive on the road but where it will shine is on the road course. Yes it’s engineering no matter what country developed the products. 💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😎😁👍👍

Is the 911 R overkill? If it’s for those who like driving, so then surely a GT3 Touring is better? As a 911 R might be a bit too hot to handle with a manual gearbox instead of an automatic.
Yeah I understand your comparison of the 911R and the Peugeot but a better comparison probably would have been an E30 M3 and and the 911R for many of the same reasons .
