Exactly! This is the price of being a 1 of 1, the pioneer. We just gotta appreciate that it's happening to Devin, because anyone else would have thrown in the towel long ago.
Dedication is insane I’m glad you haven’t given up on this beast can’t wait to see it in action again all your hard work is definitely gonna pay off keep up the grind bro respect.
Every time I watch one of these vids it puts things into perspective (the very small problems I have with my build, '73 BMW w/ a F22c1) and encourages me to get back in the garage and get things done with my ride. Hands down the best build happening on youtube! Thank you for letting us tag along on the adventure.
Good thing you explained what happened because some of us are not talented enough to follow you and Bader discuss the problem. It's like listening to doctors discuss surgery procedures.😂
Glad you went with a twin disk this time. It’ll eliminate locking you out during a high rpm shift. Definitely recommend checking all the clearances in the trans.
Dude this content is so enjoyable, sorry it's on your behalf. Anyway, man I don't like videos much, but you deserve every penny. Living the dream imo! Never forget it!
as good as this young man is you can see why Manufactures like Honda dont go for the moon and do all the requests like make the Type R AWD or put a bigger turbo and have like 400 plus horse power. They have multiple Devins to the 2nd power and experienced Engineers and realize the risk and reward on these configurations. Respect to him though for his fortitude devotion. I really enjoyed watching this starting earlier this year and hope he gets a drivable solution.
agreed, add to that a warranty and highway safety and crash testing . Devin is doing physical testing vs CAD . Props to him for showing us his successes and failures.
People keep complaining about Honda falling off but don’t realise Honda saved them a ton of money by not making cars that would have failed emissions in the last few years Most models from early 2000s still meet emissions today . And the newer turbo models are good for a long time yet
I watch your videos from time to time and for the life of me, I dont understand how are you able to take these things apart so quick and put back together. I guess having the right tools goes a long way. Keep it up.
Come on you remember the old days when Lexani made wheels, *no I’m not 40 like you* 💀 bruh the banter between you and Bader is hilarious, keep it up man!
Love how raw your videos are 😂. “Damn it where’d that bolt come from?”Haha! Feels like we’re in the same anticipating moments as you and it’s straight livestream 😂. Keep it up G you’re almost at that finish line! Hopefully 🤞
Building the unbreakable transmission V.2.0. The voiceover was really well done and exceptionally clear. New mic? What a build. Going fast is very, very expensive. How fast do you want to go? That poster was on the door to our lab for almost 20 years before it got shut down in 1995. Still true it seems.
Bruh that clutch looks sick AF. I love ACT clutches myself after putting one in my hyundai. It was fried by a tint tech, unfortunately, but I was able to save it after cleaning it up. ACT all the way for me
If you haven't named this car yet, something like money pit or burning cash would fit. I just found this channel they other day and so far the only thing I've seen is this poor civic getting dynoed then blown up... When do I get to see it make a 10 sec pass???
Excellent work...Motivating me all the way in the Bahamas..... when you get all the parts to get her back on the road........maybe you should try to take it easy.....and not beat on it so quick......and bad.....give her like a 500 mile break in period......most new cars have a 1500 - 2500 break in period...... just a suggestion...........
Just started watching after a caught a glimpse of the Type R on the thumbnail a few videos back. Already subscribed and hit the bell, Good Content and a Good vibes attitude even when shit fails. Good stuff man!
Firstly, awesome build and development series!!! Glued to this one like Stanceworks's Ferrari Kswap build. Second, I think your downfall with this car is every time you say, "This is going in for the last time" (or something to that effect). Third, keep saying it. More breakage = more build content and more you building. Winning formula because I'll keep watching!!
Genuinely happy the car is all back together and it was a relatively small fix man. I swear the souls of these K's do not like living long periods as high powered awd swaps , I'll never forget Emelio from boosted boiz awd k24 STI that continuously bent valves🥺.... hopefully this will be the last time for a LOOONGG time that your type r is apart🤞🏼
best build u have ever done very interesting to watch you develop this car to where it is🎉 and as much as i hate to say it it breaking now is better now you can enjoy it
I am planning to get a hydraulic throw out bearing similar to yours, did you have to add any shims? I know they are to be “soft” but wow 🤩 that’s awesome, especially with an heavier clutch
Hey man, Im in the pacific northwest and just totaled my 04 forester XT, fully loaded heated seats, moon roof etc. if this interests you please let me know, it only needs a front end clip, motor is fine too.
@15:36 lol Me last year installing a Differential in my MKIV Supra lol. Ik the struggle all too well @19:21 the irony of having a loose bolt and earlier giving Bader flac for loose bolts lol I remember why I took a break from the channel lol. I waas building my supra and was spending too much time on youtube watching other people build their cars versus me building mine hahahah that's wild.
Are the gear ratios for the trans, tcase and diff all compatible. Just asking because Im guessing you sourced everything from different types of Honda's(unless I'm wrong and they all came from the same type of car. And yea check lash measurements as well. Because like you said things might need to shimmed.
damn bro i feel your pain not on your level but i just broke the front diff case on my sti bc a 4$ plug for the clutch fork pin came out and broke the housing but seeing crazy shit happen to you is making me feel better been following for years love the civic shit is wild. you should just do the seqential you only live one time.
Whew, Bader is super shaky on that camera. At some point, this thing's weakest link will be the tires. Until then, we get a build series that never ends.
Great build..... Too much power for your stuff to handle, maybe 500hp would've been ok and nothing would break.... Oh well you've push it to the limit!!!
Looks like DV Niemela did leave a bolt loose :)
Just wanted to be like you 😅
Loctight keeps bolts tight 😂
Lol!!!
If it's any small consolation Devin, these breakages should be considered development. Loving this build, you've come a long way dude.
😂 expensive development but development after all..
Exactly. Just imagine how pissed Elon musk was when the starship blew up. Billions of dollars lol
Exactly! This is the price of being a 1 of 1, the pioneer. We just gotta appreciate that it's happening to Devin, because anyone else would have thrown in the towel long ago.

It does for sure

Glad you went with a twin disk this time. It’ll eliminate locking you out during a high rpm shift. Definitely recommend checking all the clearances in the trans.
Glad ur keeping a good attitude and pressing on, it’s inspiring
Dude this content is so enjoyable, sorry it's on your behalf. Anyway, man I don't like videos much, but you deserve every penny. Living the dream imo! Never forget it!
The way you installed the transmission is how I do it
Great turn over time Dev!

yea it's just more power, more problems, more $$$ spent
agreed, add to that a warranty and highway safety and crash testing . Devin is doing physical testing vs CAD . Props to him for showing us his successes and failures.

One of the best and enjoyable build series on UA-cam. Great work 👏🏻
Eventually you'll find all the weak links, then greatness.
Awesome build! The fact you've done most of this yourself is amazing!
I watch your videos from time to time and for the life of me, I dont understand how are you able to take these things apart so quick and put back together. I guess having the right tools goes a long way. Keep it up.
I got a twin disk ACT clutch on my ‘20 STI and it feels the same. It’s so soft softer then my stock clutch felt and I love it
Can’t wait. This build brought me back to my EG K swap. Love from the 209
What a journey. Impressive how quickly you are resolving these major setbacks.
I like your tenacity kid. 👍🏻🔧
Come on you remember the old days when Lexani made wheels, *no I’m not 40 like you* 💀 bruh the banter between you and Bader is hilarious, keep it up man!
You know what it can do and youre so close! Glad to see you keep going! Hopefully this is it!
A supersingle, twin and tripple is generally softer than 6 pucks or single clutch. But they do tend to be mad chattery. But youll only hear it on idle
19:22 😂😂😂 talking about loose bolts earlier and look what happened 😂😂
Love how raw your videos are 😂. “Damn it where’d that bolt come from?”Haha! Feels like we’re in the same anticipating moments as you and it’s straight livestream 😂. Keep it up G you’re almost at that finish line! Hopefully 🤞
That setup would've lived forever at 500 whp
Research and dev (pun intended), learning expensive lessons 😓😓 lessons none the less, this is quality stuff Devin. Keep going bro, don't give up.
Building the unbreakable transmission V.2.0.

Hey man it comes with it, I love the build keep up the passion u inspire me to work on my car 👍👊
You’re awesome Devin!!! The build is awesome and so are you!
If you haven't named this car yet, something like money pit or burning cash would fit.

❤ The videos.. Please back the power off a little.. Your not going to really notice it but your car will.. Such a nice build. Well done!
Just started watching after a caught a glimpse of the Type R on the thumbnail a few videos back.
Already subscribed and hit the bell, Good Content and a Good vibes attitude even when shit fails.
Good stuff man!
from toronto canada love your videos bro 👍🏻
12:06 I already guessed that by the ground down weld on the bracket…. 😂
Stoked to see the progress! Cant help but to ask: Have you considered using amsoil lubricants?
Firstly, awesome build and development series!!! Glued to this one like Stanceworks's Ferrari Kswap build.

Awesome Build! 🔥🔥but i think you have to shim the gearbox again if you changing the countershaft/finaldrive 🤔
best build u have ever done very interesting to watch you develop this car to where it is🎉 and as much as i hate to say it it breaking now is better now you can enjoy it
dont forget the cotter pins Bader 😆😆
Need some more paper towels… great work man! I did the trans and clutch on my old 95 VW golf gti vr6…(rip)… i feel ur pain!
bare handing the transmission while you're under the car by yourself, you're a beast!
There is something to be said about over clutching a combination. to some extent it can cause unnecessary shock loading in the drivetrain. 🤷🏻♂️
resilience...that is one word which define you man 👌👍
Always solid content Bruh.
I am very happy with this construction, I only ask that you take care of it. Do not abuse the torque, the ppg parts also break. 😁
Good that you're back up and running
I am planning to get a hydraulic throw out bearing similar to yours, did you have to add any shims? I know they are to be “soft” but wow 🤩 that’s awesome, especially with an heavier clutch
Remember you dont get nothing for nothing 👍
Good video thanks for the inspiring updates. Beginning of the video had way too many shakey cam shots, and jump edits.
Freaking love this man .. your great at what you do brother ..
Big ups to you bro for building you own cars 💯 . And when is the evo 4 coming back out .
I kept saying that hypoid was gonna go but make sure you get new bearing cause they’ll definitely have metal in them
You are the real GOAT NO DOUBT!!! You are a real inspiration for tunners 😎🏎️🙌
Man I love this build. I mean it sucks you have to keep working on it but I'm loving that content boyyyyyyy
Hey man, Im in the pacific northwest and just totaled my 04 forester XT, fully loaded heated seats, moon roof etc. if this interests you please let me know, it only needs a front end clip, motor is fine too.

tooner boutta turn that shiny new final drive into mashed potaters

The counter shaft bearing needs to be changed due to the shaft change from 4.7 to 4.3.
Nice work bud, i imported an act clutch from England on your recommendation.
damn bro i feel your pain not on your level but i just broke the front diff case on my sti bc a 4$ plug for the clutch fork pin came out and broke the housing but seeing crazy shit happen to you is making me feel better been following for years love the civic shit is wild. you should just do the seqential you only live one time.
Those race clutches will rattle like crazy. It's normal
best build ever .....cant wait to see it fully finish.
Where dud the time go at ? Time is flying 💥 nice build again *
Destruction and Developement.
We want to see you happily cruising and giving the car some pepper.
Love this video series.
can we get more of the best duo on youtube SVP
Is it the ratio of the whell same running in 50/50
Honda should pay you making so much content for civic type r.
Bro u are a beast!!! Love this build so much!
You should invest in a engine brace you wouldn’t need to lay on the floor to put in the trans
Whew, Bader is super shaky on that camera. At some point, this thing's weakest link will be the tires. Until then, we get a build series that never ends.
Keep pushing 💪
@9:08 Damn Devin made benching the awd tranny look so easy
Washington has the race car builders.. the passion must be in the water I need to move
Dude thats so awesome, I am super excited to see her rip.
need a total cost breakdown at the end of the build
you have to strate cut all the gears in the gearbox
These are the hypoids , " brap brap brap dont break" lmfao 🤣
Is that an evo 4 in the back?
I have those lexani tires on my type R lol but im switching today because 1 is flat.
SEMA for Devin.. lets support d honda build and buymerch! LETS GO.........👌💯👍
What’s going on with that evo sittin there? 😁
Lol I hated that body style for type r Honda but u made it cool 😎👏
Koodos to you for having so much patience time and money. I would have cut my losses a long time ago and bought a GT 500 or Corvette .
Devin's mantra: destroy build destroy and build bulletproof
Don't forget clutch stop might ruin the Thrusts.
Don’t give up you can make it stronger
Brian spiker? Hell yeah he built my awd b trans.
I dont understand why they didnt try driving alot more with maybe 500hp before they cranked it right up. Incremental steps is the way.
I agree a stock k holds 500-600 pretty reliably anything more then that needs the sleeved block pistons retainers etc
@@jujuanwillis2643you realize the only thing this motor DIDNT have is sleeves right?
Great build.....
Too much power for your stuff to handle, maybe 500hp would've been ok and nothing would break....
Oh well you've push it to the limit!!!
Making me nervous with that rag by the turbo 😮
When you come to realize when it was all back to stock/rebuilt should have accepted it then lol
Damn you bench pressed that transmission out. Gym days pay off
Love the all in one non dragged out videos. Only issue I can think of some idiot is gonna try and attempt a project like this thinking is super easy 😂
what clutch you have ACT xtreme 6 pads?
I think it’s called the viscous . A lot of people that make Real power in awd Hondas put that prat billet .
You are committed lol 👍 best of luck
Need to hit up the boosted boiz they have the rodyssey mini van that’s running high 8’s……. Kinda close setup k24 awd
