Omg, literjust happened to me. I didn't paint for about 3 or 4 months. Started with varnishing in another area, got new tables/shelving that fit better in the area. Then I reorganized, told myself I was just going to do easy techniques like straight pours with leftovers that had been sitting on previous pours I didn't like anymore. Completely rejuvenated me and I got probably the best painting I've ever made. I decided I'm not buying any more paints until I've used up what I have, so I MUST figure out how to make my own colors, the only thing I'll buy is white, black and mediums but even then I want to figure out how to get different results with mediums I haven't used in a long time. It's refreshing!
I want to thank you. I stumbled across pouring several months ago, and I was overdosing on videos. Your video "Stop watching and start pouring" was the kick in the butt I needed. I LOVE it! Can't say everything turns out as intended, but I just go with the flow. Pun untended... My "studio" happens to be half our basement. I share it with a zillion spiders. I have mismatched pieces of fabric as "walls", and to keep the heat in. My "studio" looks just like yours at present. I thank you for saving my sanity! So much happening in the world, plus I battle with chronic disease. I was a musician, but lost function in one hand. Always loved art but can't draw a stick figure... This has allowed me to once again be creative, and to relax! BTW- your secret is, I believe, a huge cup of coffee. Also, your down-to-earthiness shows- doing a video in jammies! Love it! '
Oh my! Your studio looks a bit like mine! However, I also have watercolors and oil paints, two different easels, three sets of brushes, quilting equipment, all manner off additives, resin molds ... I do a bit of just about everything (Including woodworking and pen turning, but I have a space for that). I have so much stuff that I rather feel the way you do with anxiety in that I have to clean up one set of tools for the last project to do another in another medium. This has inspired me to just get up there and organize. It's a bit overwhelming, but you just have to start by moving on thing, and then another ... and eventually it all gets done. Feeling like you can breathe in a space makes all the difference. Thank you, yet again!!!

My paintings were also taking over, I had so many. Just before Christmas I stored them all in large, thick polystyrene boxes and moved them out to the shed. Only my largest paintings remain. It's good to have some space again. Your studio looks great now.

This is so awesome! You're very good with your hands. Other people, like me, are not so fortunate with fixing and building things. When I see your video i think you nailed the problem of many of us, and I think I understand now why I find myself with no energy to paint for weeks. Maybe a change is in order. That is exactly how I am feeling right now… anxiety over the clutter and not to mention it’s 61 degrees in my basement (up from 58 degrees last week with heater on high🥶) I need to just take a page from your book and clean up and declutter! Another thing that I have realized throughout the years is everything on wheels! If not Wheels get furniture sliders and keep them underneath your shelves at all times I go nuts and decide to rearrange my studio probably about four times a year at least I have found that just having everything or most everything on casters or sliders has been a absolute game changer

I'm like you, I didn't make them to sell them, I made them to enjoy the making of them... Yet it seems antithetical to simply discard them! Yet, so much effort to do properly selling. I will see your accumulation of acrylic pouring stuff and raise you the other 50 different arts and crafts that I do living in a house that I inherited from my mother who was a artist art activist and information hoarder in a 1925 house not only does it feel like I have so much stuff it's hard to maneuver it seems like even when I do clean I'm just moving stuff around even though I'm getting rid of a whole bunch of it at the same time butt but there's something you may want to look into look into the stacking front opening Pantry bin options I have had every kind of organizational Ben shelf modular craft unit etcetera and with bins they drive me nuts because I don't want to have to pick up a bin to get into another bin these are awesome these are so great I have got more stuff organized then I have since I got the house in 2015

I am not organized at all never have been im stressing iver all the mess and clean up. I have bottles on the floor empty mostly empty bottles. Im just starting out and dont have alot of money or space so im making a mess everywhere lol
