It was totally playable if you installed Optifine. I have gotten rid of that computer by now, but if anyone wants to know how well it runs with modern versions, you are free to hunt down these components and build a similar specced computer.

From personal experience, move "designed for vista" laptops are just a horrible experience on vista, and will perform better on either xp or 7, like 7 is just more optimised vista(I know it's actually quite different, but they're very close compared to others), so if it's a low end vista laptop, xp will perform beautifully, if it's high end, 7 will probably be half decent too

@ Hello bro I have tried linux mint xfce, what can I say man it was kind of a cool experience exploring the browser was really smooth I can even play youtube video on 4k (a bit laggy but still impressive) cuz I could only go up to 1440p on lubuntu and 1080 on win10 however I found it a bit strange when it comes to “emulating” windows programs I tried some games using wine but the fps is lower than lubuntu maybe it’s my fault cuz I don’t have much experience in linux stuff but overall I found it really good and with some interesting features preinstalled I’m gonna keep using it till I get the hang of it , thanks 🫶
Some advice your better off running Minecraft on a desk top PC with a GPU because you're going to have better drive support and also by the way if your using windows use tiny 11 or 10. But do note that your CPU architecture is not really designed for windows 11 and an SSD would be a useful upgrade
Quick tip for if drivers claim to only work on a certain version, is to install that older version, and then upgrade the windows install to a newer version I had to do that on an old tablet pc that only had windows 8ndrivers, that refused to install on 10, would complain alot if i tried to install them on a fresh windows 10 install, but installing 8, installing drivers, then upgrading to 10, kept the drivers installed and they still worked fine

Please, spread the difference between the two, it gets on my nerves when someone all about tech doesn't know the difference between Lag and FPS Fluctuations.

Have you ever tried Chrome OS flex? It's faster than Linux on older devices from my experience. The only downside is I don't think it will run Minecraft on Chrome OS flex... I haven't tried that.

Yes you can get drivers working on Windows 10
I use AtlasOS on my 2007 Dell Inspiron 1520 and it's very usable
Random people getting 1000+ fps on 17+ year old laptop/pc while my gaming pc only gets like 70-100
My 3-7 years old laptop gets 80-110..
Vanilla Minecraft is terribly optimized. To get more fps you need to use optimizations mods or mod packs
