Clicked then listened to this while playing GTA5, Figured it'd be a big channel and this video would be a year old with 100,000 views or something, Seems I am in fact.... early. The editing and presentation are fantastic and it's definitely worth the re-watch and paying attentiont to. Edit: Closed gta5 to rewatch, liked, subscribed.
Probably when he showed up with N4EZ at Watsonville Flyin in late 70s. I was there. I saw it and started building a VariEze. I lived in Lancaster. I took out parts to his hangar. He looked at them and gave me his opinion. Only had a receptionist and himself. BUT I spied a brand new Apple II computer on his work desk. Knew he was cutting edge. N4EZ was parked outside. And outside front door….the upside down VariEZ wing with winglet pointed down. Static test I think. Also trying to figure out how hot Mojave temps and suns rays would effect the epoxy cured in wing.
Great video! I knew of Burt and Dick through a podcast by Bill Whittle but I didnt know much else other than crazy airplanes they desined that I would see pictures of. Maybe one day I can be an engineer like Burt.
Analysis of a long eze was my engineering project in college. It was almost unrecognized by the professor. It took much more work because few knew about the technologies.
Ive worked there for 35 years, an absolute joy of a place to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are requirements for working there or landing a job?
Burt Routan has been the most creative aircraft designer/engineer for years.

Appreciate the support!
Burt Rutan was a legend for several decades before this. Where were you?😅
Thanks for paying him homage!
Was there a defining moment for you when Burt reached the 'legend' status?
