I love that Plastic Man was a criminal before he got his powers. In the TV show Batman the Brave and the Bold we get a sneak peak at his origin. He was robbing a chemical factory or smth like that, then Batman arrives. Plastic man gets afraid and walks off into a vat of chemicals, when he comes out he has his weird shape shifty powers. But he wanted too turn his life around, so Batman ended up teaching him everything he needed too be a Hero. It’s a good redemption story.
Mr. Terrific is so underrated. His “power” as it were, is learning. He’s a well written agnostic. He’s intelligent but lacks the ego you often see in super smart characters.
Batman once said it's a good thing plastic man uses his powers for good an mostly comic relief cuz if he wanted to he'd be a pretty formidable villain.... he's pretty O.P.
Used to play Mutants & Masterminds a long time ago. Used to create heros that could theoretically take over the world. Most times the GM said no to my characters. I think we went through 5 characters like that before he settled on my 6th. Funnily enough I even bet him that I could create a half power character and still wreck whatever he threw at me. The 6th character still wrecked the bbegs shit.
Yeah I mean, he can be contained if you try hard enough but he can't actually be killed as far as we know, he doesn't age and can regenerate from any damage he takes, being frozen is a temporary setback as while it removes his powers being shattered also doesn't kill him and he can heal from it when he thaws. If he actually wanted to hurt people he would be a nightmare to deal with.
My favorite Plas fact, is during an event involving Brainiac, he was at the bottom of his shit-list, and it pissed plas off so bad, that he effectively soloed the entire issue. Brainaic paused, blinked, and put him at the complete top of the list. I remember laughing so hard when I found that out.
If they made a Plastic Man movie, they would make it incredibly edgy, gritty, and angsty and ruin everything. It's better that he gets no movie than getting one in the current state of superhero movies.
He is one of my favorite characters in DC, the fact that Batman can work with him and put up with his attitude is really lighthearted cause he knows Plastic man means to do good, even after his old records
