The fitter player won the match. Great comeback by Aga having been 5-2 down. It's funny because Aga really should have won the first set but let it slip and up 2-0 with a chance to make it 3-0, she almost let the third go as well. I think we will see Aga playing for a major in 2017. She's getting better and better. If she takes a few more chances on 2nd serves and mid court balls, I think she will do it. With her unparalleled hand skills and great court coverage, she deserves it.
Aga is my favorite player, but I fear she has past her peak. She's at the age where players lose a step, and without her dominant speed and fitness, I doubt she can get to a slam final...she will still be among the top ten or twenty, but she may fade. Hope I'm wrong. Does she still have that boyfriend? I wonder if they talk marriage....
Let's give her one more chance next year. This one was really bad and I don't think she's gonna come back now. She needs to work normally through the preparing season. A few reasons combined made this year so difficult for her - raquet change, injuries and an illness in the beginning of the yar, then marriage. Even though she has been playing a bit better now, she can't do much at this moment of the season. I think that next year she'll perform much better :)
I think Aga's main problem is the one she said herself - younger players are coming up behind her and they're getting better and better. She lost to Daria Kasatkina this year (I think it was in Beijing) who's eight years younger than her, and she's also lost to Ana Konjuh, Belinda Bencic and Catherine Bellis who are also about the same age or younger than Daria.
Friedsam's behaviour in this match was appalling. If hadn't spent so much of her energy (in the first set) fist pumping and carrying on with the histrionics, she might have had the energy to complete the match. She was cramping in the 3rd but faked an injury because cramping is not considered an injury. We found this out after the match, but the machinations that came long with it were disgusting to any sportsman.
Friedsam I have no sympathy for her this is professional sport. She exaggerated the injury to throw Aga off. Aga so smart just kept on drop shot her over and over. And that is what you do focus on YOUR GAME not your opponent. Friedsam was trying to psyche Aga out. Aga did not fall for it.
OKAY! IM WATCH THIS AND LIKE RADWANSKA is soo unorthodox in how she tries to respond to one of friedman's better shots. Shes pretty much, playing off of her spin, (NO POWER, OR PURPOSE) in the quality of shot. but simply trying to get it in play :(. soo sad :(

Aga is great. Freidsom seems to have played much better but Aga came through.
I hope you're right....She has had a nagging foot injury, but maybe when that clears up, she will shine again.
