    Lame duck, not sitting duck. A sitting duck is something else.

      When I saw sitting duck, I was wondering what that was about and clicked to watch. I sort of figured something was amiss, thought I'd see an actual duck, sitting, but couldn't put my finger on it until your comment. I suppose it worked as click bait.

    • @PaperbackWizard

      I think they chose it on purpose. After all, they use the term "lame duck" multiple times in this clip, and it's the name of the episode, so it'd be pretty weird if they'd missed it. Also, it's in the video description, so you know they know what it is.

    • @acr08807
      @acr08807 6 місяців тому +5

      Maybe the duck is sitting because it is lame. Or it could be lame because it has been sitting too long.

      I see this more and more with clips from films and TV. Is it not deliberate, in an effort to make it more difficult for UA-cam to pick up on and remove via a copyright strike?

    If I had a few t-shirts with, "it was a better organised thought when it was in my head" printed on the front it'd probably save me a helluva lot of time.

    Asking Charlie for some aspirin OR some kind of weapon to kill people with!......This absolutely made me laugh out loud today as It did back in 2000 when I first saw this episode! Still works on so many level! Cheers West Wing Warriors 👋

      I think it is Charlie. There is a three day waiting period for Aspirin. The GOP thinks that there should be reasonable restrictions and a background check so that the wrong people don't get it.

      But also fair and almost always the smartest guy in the room. He saw the problem before the advisors did. Frequently he even put them to task for things that journalists are SUPPOSED to put them to task for, like who was in charge while Bartlett was in surgery for the gunshot wound. The press is *supposed* to be the 4th Estate of American politics, the Vox Populi. They're supposed to hold our leaders to task, to ask them why they aren't following the constitution or why they aren't following process or what they're getting the people involved into.
      Too often in my lifetime they've resorted to cheerleading one side or the other depending on which channel you watch, and not often enough do they critique policy.
