Wow, that bamboo forest looks amazing! We wish we would have known about it when we were in the area a few years ago. Have you ever been to the "creepy doll head trail"? It's exactly how it seems- creepy doll heads on a trail. It's pretty cool though to check out if you've never been!
Absolutely love being in nature, the green, the fresh air...your video made me wanna take trip right away. really liked how you used map at the end to explain the terrain that was a cool touch.
The bamboo forest was beautiful! Glad you brought enough water because that was along hike! Thanks for showing the path that you learned was the easiest at the end of your video
I have seen bamboo forests only in books and pictures. It was a treat watching this video. You’ve filmed so well I felt I was in the forest sharing the experience. Awesome
Wow! I’m shocked! I know ALOT about Atlanta but have never heard of this! This is beautiful! There are definitely hidden gems everywhere in ATL! Love this! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Yeah, Bamboo has turned into a real problem here. Most towns have passed ordinances that you can't plant it. Were those turtles doing inappropriate things? WOW...when you get to Poppy's point you get a feel for how close you are to the city. Very cool that you have this kind of hiking available so close.
Yeah I had no idea there was literally a forest of bamboo inside another forest lol. But it was a great hike. And I’m assuming the turtles were participating in inappropriate activities but the bridge was slightly blocking my view to confirm lol.
Thank you so much for giving out the coordinates and trail numbers, that's super helpful in trying to follow in your footsteps! I also love using the AllTrails app to navigate hikes, and this trail looks like such a gem. I had no idea the Atlanta area has areas like this!
You are welcome! Having the coordinates was way better then trying to follow a description or even worse Google Maps just to get to the parking area! And I had no idea about this gem until this year...I guess that is what a pandemic will do for you lol!
Wow this is so gorgeous!! I miss going out hiking. Before covid, I used to hike allllll the time and it’s something I completely forgot about! This inspires me to plan more outdoor day trips in nature 🥰
I’m from Jacksonville, Florida and have been to Atlanta SO many times. I had no idea that there are so many hiking trails like this one. I hope to go back next year and will definitely try this out!
A friend of mine and I walked the same exact way you did. We didn’t take the trail 13 nearest to the indian trail head and ended up doing the full treacherous 3.5 miles or so to the bamboo forest. There aren’t any indicators of the Bamboo forest on the map but it’s at the very top of the trail at the end around 26 or so i believe. It was definitely worth the exercise and happy we did the long way. Your map Is Incredibly helpful!
Hiking by yourself? I would've took a buddy! There are lots of hiking trails in rual areas of KY, i really want to go hiking more. The view when you got to Poppi's Point was GORGEOUS!! You could see the city way off in the distance! The bamboo forrest is beautiful !!! This just motivated me to go hiking more often
Yeah you definitely have to go prepared when solo and know what you are doing. I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t hike much. I hope you get out and see more nature!
What a day! The first day when you went to the wrong place by mistake ... I totally feel you. When my husband and I were in Tivoli, Italy we were looking for a certain location to sight see and we walked for HOURS just to find out we were right next to it the entire time. But I LOVE your positive perspective when you do come across obstacles or roadblocks in your hikes. What I learned from that mishap in Tivoli was that I was still grateful to have been lost in such a beautiful town and I got to see parts of Tivoli that I didn’t plan on seeing. Poppys point looks gorgeous. Absolutely breathtaking. You are such a brave adventurous soul to hike on your own. I admire that. You def burned a ton of calories during your hike. I didn’t know GA had this type of place to go hiking. I’m a nature buff myself and I’m going to check it out the next time I’m in that state!
Omg I’ve had a similar situation happen to me before. I was with coworkers in Thailand and when we got off the boat we were right next to the Grand Palace but from the back so we didn’t know. We ended up getting scammed by a Tuk Tuk driver who claimed he would take us there 😩. But yes definitely add this place on your state of Georgia list. It’s definitely a nice hike with a lot of great views.
Wow. But how did get the right track. Amazing walk. And those sound of cicadas. Cute wooden bridge and that river and forest. All so gorgeous and quiet and the sound of nature
Wow I hardly paid attention to the cicada sound probably because I hear them here daily! And to get on the right track, I just kept following the trail and eventually made a turn off the main trail to find the bamboo forest.
Not sure how i got on your newsletter distro, but i received it today. This is an awesome channel, thanks for the add!!! A friend of mine and our 4 year old sons have been exploring all the trails in the area as well. I have a book called "60 hikes within 60 Miles of Atlanta" and we're planning to hit all 60. We're on trail 4, maybe we'll run into you on one of our adventures :-)
Boy, that bamboo sure made you work for it. Between the wrong directions, dead end and rough terrain. Looks like it was worth it though. Beautiful views!! We are going to Atlanta this summer so we may have to check it out. Thank you for sharing 🎋
Wow I’ve never heard of this. Those views are absolutely beautiful. I’ve only went hiking once in the smoky mountains and whew 😥 lol probably shouldn’t have been my first hike. I definitely would try again though. I’ll look into this for sure
It looks really nice. But I am a punk. You are really bold to walk on the trails alone. I am afraid to walk on trails alone in my own area haha. Maybe I have watched too many movies. But it is extremely beautiful by the river. I will keep that trail in mind when I get a chance to visit. Thank you
Lol I was definitely uneasy when I first started. But it was nice when I finally passed a person on the trail walking their dog. So made me feel better. I would definitely not go when it was darker.
We’re opposites - I’m an early morning person. Love getting out there before anyone else. Your do came out great. Did you feel safe hiking by yourself? That one spot was pretty scary.
That looks really awesome! I would be kind of freaked out about what I could encounter though. I am not a fan of creepy crawly things. HA! But, definitely looks like an adventure!
i really love hiking! and nature and this bamboo forest just really beautifull!! here in japan also theres many bamboo forest but the bamboo type kinda different, bt im not sure though btw the trail was really long 🌿🌱 ✨
Omg I would love to see the bamboo in Japan one day!!! And yes the hike was long. I feel it could be a little shorter but you are definitely going to spend a lot of time there.
Hey you can get lost with other people too (it happens). And I wouldn’t say I got lost in the forest. But I definitely went a way longer direction to find a hidden bamboo forest.
I love hiking, but the steep parts always get to me! I never thought about using my shoes with spikes or a walking stick -- thank you for that lol. this is so beautiful, so many hidden gems in Atlanta
That steel area got me too! All I could see was myself sliding to the bottom of that hill. Luckily I didn’t. And you’re welcome! Now if I could just tell myself to bring a walking stick lol.
This probably is crowded during the pandemic because it's a great way to be active outside! How interesting...I didn't even know we had bamboo here in the States. Now who bought that over here?! Smh I love nature walks like this...
Luckily I did not! I did hear something short in the bushes twice. Something that could’ve been a rabbit or a snake. But I didn’t stick around to find out.
Thanks for watching! I recommend parking at the lot near coordinates 33°53'02.6"N 84°26'11.9"W. This was the closest lot. Then you want to take the trail that is right there at the parking lot. If you are walking towards the trail from the lot, you will walk towards the right towards marker #13. This will be the shorter route but it will still be a little ways. You will hike towards marker 26. The forest is right before it. The different paths at the trail doesn’t have names. So it’s best to download the AllTrails app and have your location services turned on so you can track and follow your way to marker 26. Be safe and enjoy the trail! It’s beautiful!
That forest so absolutely beautiful 😍 I love hiking so much, I used to go all the time in the summer but it's currently too cold where I live (thank goodness we're going into spring now though) Hiking/walking is such a great way to unplug for a bit and also re-center! I prefer going on hikes way more than the gym even though the gym is more convenient! Loved the video 🤍
This morning around 8AM, my 20 pound Jack Russell terrier (who was on a leash) and I were attacked by a pit bull (named Bella who was not on a leash) on the East Palisades Trail at the Chattahoochee River. I thought we were going to die when it happened - but we were not hurt. I had already picked up my dog and was trying to shelter her in my arms, when the pit bull knocked us to the ground. The owner was able to get her off before more damage was done. This is the reason it's against the law to have your dog off leash anywhere - on any trail - even in the water - within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.
Omg this is terrible! Sorry this happened to you. And I agree. My dog has been attacked before just walking the neighborhood due to a dog not having on a leash. I’m glad you were able to get out of the situation.
1:35 that $5 was worth it great pic and cool it went to a good cause! Hope to see more great content! I make similar videos take a look and let me know what you think. 😁

I haven’t been but I will add it to the list! It does sound cool but it definitely sounds like a place I will not be going alone lol.
THE FOREST DOES LOOK AWESOME! I would love to see more states in america but leaving sounds so much better. Hahaha 😂
we just went there! We have kids and it was halloween so super creepy doll head trail hike.
I love hanging out and watching your Channel. You always travel to some of the most interesting places on the planet.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy as I always have to explore and fulfill my wanderlust!

I’m glad you enjoyed the map! I thought it would be good to show for people who are trying to hike the area.
The bamboo forest was beautiful! Glad you brought enough water because that was along hike! Thanks for showing the path that you learned was the easiest at the end of your video
Yeah it was too long but worth it. I was definitely sore the next day lol. Thanks for watching!
So relaxing 😌
Gotta love being one with nature
Yes indeed. Thanks for watching!
Oh wow, the views at Poppi's Point is gorgeous. The bamboo forest looks so peaceful, and it's so cool you have it all to yourself!
The view at Poppi’s Point is gorgeous! Thank you for watching!
I have seen bamboo forests only in books and pictures. It was a treat watching this video. You’ve filmed so well I felt I was in the forest sharing the experience. Awesome
I’m glad I could take you along! Thanks for watching!
The hidden bamboo forest is interesting and it’s adventurous, having a solo walk. I enjoy walking solo too.
It’s definitely refreshing getting out there!

You always go to the most amazing places! This looks absolutely beautiful, love the turtles! I can't wait to get out hiking again!
I'm imagining myself walking through the bamboo, what an awesome experience!

@@googlpanda seeing bamboo was amazing! I thought I would never see any until I visit Japan some day!

I haven't hiked in a long time. That was good that too many people were not there. You didn't have to wear a mask
I was so excited about that until the end when I was extremely sweaty and started seeing people. So I had to pull out my mask 😷.
Beautiful views 😍😍
Yes indeed!
I can’t believe you did that walk by yourself! I bet it looks wayyy better in person. Had no idea that was in Atlanta.
Yes it’s looks way better in person!
And hey I can’t wait on people to do things!
Looks as a great walk. Yes Bamboo wasn't originally there. Where you planning to go to the Olympics this year?
I was hoping to get there and over to Japan. But not happening 😩.
Dang what a cool place to explore I wish that was out here in la
LA has a lot of other fun nature activities to offer too!
