    Just because I didn't mention it in the video my camera settings: Canon R5, RF 24-70mm 2.8, f/5.0, and shutter synced to strobes at 1/200! Oh and I decided to keep the fire going since it was pretty damn cold on this shoot!

    Hey James. Bangin' video! @James, could you speak a little to what you are getting from the studio lights in terms of effect especially as you have the two strip boxes there already that could potentially provide all the edge light necessary for separation? Are they there to create flare or hit the areas of the player that the strips won't cover? Thanks so much for taking the time.

    • @QuantzPhoto
      @QuantzPhoto 3 роки тому +1

      Hey Wil, it's just about adding some dimension to those edge lights - so they do hit other areas as well as blend with the strips. If you're interested I have a video that breaks this down with more detail over on the Patreon.

    James, your work is superb and your willingness to share trade secrets - without remuneration - is unparalleled in this day and age. You provide useful tips that may otherwise take someone hours or even weeks to figure out. Quick question; what shutter speed are you getting away with the Profotos? It looks like you’re trying to kill the ambient so I am guessing 1/200th-ish? I ask because I use a similar set up, but not quite the number of accent lights. I use to do work for some pro teams in Edmonton, Canada back in the 90s (no digital camera for immediate feedback on your results and post production on layer-less Photoshop 1.0!) I’m semi-retired now, but still get asked by the odd college, junior, or minor athletic team when they want something a little more upscale. Here’s my Sport Design Portfolio if you want to take a look: www.alexanderhill.photography/-/galleries/portfolio/sport-design
