I've always heard so many things about Wisconsin Dells, but never really learned much about it outside of Mt. Olympus coasters. Cool to see some of the other good rides/slides!
there is one you missed... the Hurricane (proslide tornado) at the Wilderness is BY FAR the most insane tornado I've been on. The only one where I was legitimately scared because it felt like we went way too high up the walls. Also the one at Great Wolf lodge is great too, it's the second best tornado I've been on. The steep drop out of the staton gives you a nice pop of air if you start facing forwards with a heavier person on the opposite side.
Might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Hades 360 would be the perfect, *perfect* coaster for the first full install of GCI titan track. The layout is too good to RMC and change, and retracking won't last long on something that aggressive - To top it all off, gravity group coaters can be a rough nightmare even when new (mine blower for example, which is why I am concerned about the coming Leviathan in my home country of Australia) - Titan track it once and the job is done. A ferocious non stop coaster that will be smooth.. If they need to change the Timberliner to a Millennium Flyer so be it.. whatever will give the fastest best ride combined with the Titan track. That's my 2c.. I am actually sad no one has done a titan track conversion yet, but Hades 360 is the best candidate IMO.
I used to go to Mt Olympus every year during high school for end of year field trip. I remember trying out the Poseidon's wave pool and it was really unpleasant. You get knocked around especially if you are at the beginning of the pool. I got bruises from that and never went there again. I also saw some kids gasping for air right after the wave hits.
My favorite is Kowabunga at Noah’s Ark, the ride’s layout is basically a quad down that gives some of the most ridiculous airtime you could probably find in the world
Miner Mike was closed on me, and I didn't do Noah's Ark. I was surprised when I saw Hades 360 at # 2, but when you described # 1, it definitely makes sense.
I live roughly 15 minutes from the Dells, and have been to nearly every water park there (except for a few of the Wilderness parks). I can agree with a lot of entries on this list, but I wouldn’t necessarily agree with the Tornado. The water park in general is very rundown looking (except for their food stands, of course. They have to look appealing to make more money.) Particularly, on the Tornado, I’ve NEVER in my life seen all of the lights working on the Tornado. They fix some, and either leave the others or they break right after. My dad used to be the general manager there, and had worked there even since it’s opening in the 90s. We are very connected to the original owners and technically “founders” of the the Great Wolf franchise, but for all the money they’ve put into building these other grand resorts with beautiful water slides, they could a little of that in keeping (one of) the first indoor water parks alive, and finally fixing ALL of the lights on the Tornado (because whenever I drive past it on I-94, it looks terrible.) Thanks for listening to me rant
I am sure the Black Hole and Hurricane waterslides at Wilderness Resort would've been on the list somewhere had you have gone there. I promise you the former S&S wooden roller coaster Avalanche at Timber Falls would be on the list also if it were still operating.
Great list, I haven't been there in probably 18 years now but the last time I was there I got a mini marathon in on Cyclops back when it was the best part of the park. Noah's Ark has so much crammed into it that you could probably make a top 15 just for them and #15 wouldn't be too bad - I remember there being a zip line over a pool that got quite a queue, and other pools nearby had a ton of ropes and obstacles over water, like the best 5 resorts' setups combined, so I wouldn't have been surprised if something like that had juuuust made it into the top 20 here, but that being said the Dells has a ton of other water park attractions and resorts always trying to siphon off guests from each other so there's loads of high-thrill slides and stuff to make the list. Are go-karts not really your thing, or were the tracks at Mt. Olympus just not up to snuff these days to make the top 20? Back when I went the karts ran as well as any other I'd been on, and as you've mentioned in a separate review the tracks themselves were cutting-edge and as good as you can ask for in go-karts.
@@CanobieCoaster that's about what I expected, they would do well to beef their carts up to run how they used to, though I'm sure their tracks alone draw in plenty of people so they probably don't consider it worthwhile yet
I have been to the Wisconsin dells many tines. Sometimes in the summer Sometimes in fall and sometimes in winter. I would love to do the outdoor water parks at the wilderness resort but sadly I have only been there during the winter. Also every October i try to go to the Wisconsin dells to do the ghost boat because of October being the spooky month. Ghost boat runs all summer to the end of October. Basically you take a boat up the Wisconsin River to a canyon where you get off and walk the trail through the canyon at night with people in scary costumes jumping out at you.
I have been to every single water park except for the kalahari and chula vista. Might stay at the kalahari this year when I do the ghost boat. Was at great wolf lodge last year when I did the ghost boat. Was there the same day the five nights at freddy's movie was in theaters. I did the ghost boat came back to the resort then saw the five nights at freddy's movie at the movie theater across the street the next night.
I go really just for Mt. Olympus but if you like other things, they have it, like several water attractions and escape rooms. I stayed in the Kalahari and I highly recommend that Mac & Cheese place next door, get the BBQ pork kind,, it's by far the best Mac & Cheese you will ever eat.
Seeing that wave pool makes me miss Big Surf in Tempe Arizona, similar wave height and they used to rent out inflatable boogie boards to ride the wave with. Not every waterpark has the wave pool as their star attraction but there are a couple exceptions. Does the Mount Olympus one do anything similar?
Why would you put Pegasus in this? There are so many things you could have put, but Pegasus is the toughest roller coaster out there with barely any air time and very boring.
I like the dells. It brings me back to my youth. Mt Olympus is shady. Posieden wave pool is pretty cool though. I did ride cyclops when it had the las row. On the train you had to be over 18 to ride.
I live 10 minutes away and it is such a blast. Being 21 and born here, I will say the wilderness is he best resort in terms of price to what you get. At mt Olympus, you get what you pay for. No way a theme park is 5 dollars without the service being terrible.
4:10 that’s probly my favorite slide, I’ve done the version at Kalahari Sandusky. It does have a slam entering the bowl causing my head to smash into the slide. I rode 11 times in a row tho so it wasn’t to painful. A version in Florida has the same slam so Maby something I’m doing wrong
I apologize, but I already uploaded and recorded a review for Great Wolf Concord so the name will be mispronounced there. Thought I said it like the New England Concords.
I have a crazy fun fact did you know that the hurricane at the Wilderness resort in Wisconsin Dells is taller than the howling tornado at Great Wolf Lodge
I'm curious as to how the Time Warp didn't make the top 20 because it has the longest wait time of all the rides at Noah's Ark. I didn't go on it because I went to the park alone and the ride requires pairs. But I am curious about it anyways.
Hades 360 is severely overrated. The only good part is the gravity group extension underneath and in the middle of the parking lot. The rest of it is a mess. Also, can’t believe Time Warp isn’t on here. Easily the most intense waterslide at Noah’s Ark. Definitely deserves at least top 10.
