What this beautiful ta’ahine/tamata’i wears is a true measina of Samoa. The ie sina she wears was worn specifically for women of high rank in ancient Samoa. There are two versions of this mat, seems the ie pa’e she wears is the more known version. Judging by the whiteness of the mat, it’s been kept and looked after with much care. Thanks for sharing
malo e fakameite ae taahine pilinisesi!! Pango koe ikai ke nau ilo e mea oku nau lea aki, kai kehe koe kuongani ia mo hono nanunga. Fakaofoofa atu ho teu o fielau koe tupu mei he hako hau e fonua. tua eiki ofa atu mei Apia Haamoa. Seki aa lou siva samoa!! faafetai tele lava, faa samoa chuuuuhuhuu
Had her father married her mom first, her brother would be King now as her father was the second oldest son of the King,Tupou the 4th.Her father first married a beautiful lady that the king regarded her as a commoner,so the King(Tupou the 4th) took his prince hood and made him a noble only!Had he married Alaileula, the king line would be that, half Samoan half Tongan! The king now is a younger brother of her father! You are so beautiful princess!!!
@southfijigal she was born Honourble due to her father,Prince Fatafehi Alaivahamama’o,being stripped of his Princehood by his father,Tupou 4.He was then given a Noble tittle of furtherest island to Samoan and became Noble(Nopele) Ma’atu. So when Ma’atu married Alaileula, their kids became honourble only, due to the Prince being demoted to Noble only.Ma’atu passed away in 2004 and King Tupou the 4th passed away in 2006(I think),his eldest son,the crown prince became George Tupou the 5th and put back Hon Ma’atu’s kids to Princes and Princess. That’s probably why you see her being referred to as Princess or Hon.I would say the one where she is referred to as Hon is probably an old footage
