- A Bell 212 helicopter carrying Iran's president and foreign minister crashed on Sunday, according to Iranian state media, as it flew through mountains in heavy fog. The tragic crash claimed the lives of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Affairs Minister Amir Abdollahian and other officials travelling in the ill-fated helicopter. The helicopter was carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the country’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, the governor of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province and other officials and bodyguards, according to the state-run IRNA news agency. Raisi was returning from a trip to Iran’s border with Azerbaijan earlier Sunday to inaugurate a dam with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, the news agency said. The helicopter apparently crashed or made an emergency landing in the Dizmar forest between the cities of Varzaqan and Jolfa in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, near its border with Azerbaijan, under circumstances that remain unclear. Initially, Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said the helicopter “was forced to make a hard landing due to the bad weather and fog.”

IRAN used 40 years old Helicopter for official use.
Instead of spending on Nuclear/ Ballistic missiles, Drone missiles, they could have build better Helicopter . Basic needs to be provided for the people , after that they can focus on war.
Same happened with us too don't make fun of anyone..
US this US that but need US made helicopters. Can make and supply missiles to their proxies but can't upgrade helicopters etc. Priorities

Standard security measures ignored 1. Two tips should not travel in one aircraft esp helicopter. 2. Vip helicopter should never fly alone without at least two other selectors should accompany.

This US helicopter model is older. There are also likely to be maintenance problems, as it will be difficult for Iran to obtain spare parts. Helicopters require much more maintenance than fixed-wing aircraft and also age more quickly. I therefore assume there is a technical defect.
