  • This is the third and final part in a mini-series I've done on positioning and battlefield readiness. In this guide for beginning and moderate players, I explain some of the most important factors in positioning during your fights. I am very proud of this video and its expression of my creativity - I just think it's nifty lol. At least one of these tips will be helpful, I guarantee.
    First two videos in mini-series:

    2) Building a Roster for Success: • How I Build My Rosters...

    dude this video is the shit that actually matters, I got so frustrated looking for useful information to improve at the game
    people give their opinions about this perk or that perk but this positional shit is what really matters at getting better at the game
    took me like 800 hours to figure out half the stuff you mentioned here
    please keep more coming, nuances of how necrosavants target corner guys, how to approach unholds etc great stuff

    One thing I wish you would have highlighted more on is how you can use offensive rotation specifically with 2h's. The scenario where your 2h is 2 tiles away can be nullified if one of your bros just rotates him forward allowing him an immediate attack, and if he has adrenaline and was last in the current turn order (most of my 2h users are the last to act as they're wearing my heaviest gear due to not having a shield), can effectively get double 2h attacks off on an opponent before they can even react. Offensive rotations, combined with adrenaline are quite powerful expecially early game as you only need level 4 to start utilizing it.
    edit: This is also why barbarians are so annoying, the early fuckers can have both adrenaline and rotate and they can do this but they often times do it with throwing weapons lol.

    • @CarveaHole
      @CarveaHole  3 роки тому

      Resolve is probably minimum in the 50s and no higher than 70 cause I want many HP and stam rolls. If a BF tank can get to 130 stam that's cool, less than that and it's probably nimble or lighter armor (but then you probably should just use nimble). HP is about 85+ for BF and as high as you can with good stam for nimble.

      If you get a full inventory then selling all the loot can be pretty profitable. Not having to spend money on tools also helps, so nimble is actually a money saver. • @andrek6920
      @andrek6920 3 роки тому +1

      Camp busting is the most profitable thing you can do. And the best way to get fameds. Not to mention all that profit you make can be used to buy more fameds.
      If it isn't profitable you simply aren't busting the right camps or enough of them. Going and killing some rotten hut or collapsed fortress near town and then running right back isn't profitable. Traveling to the edge of the world and back to civilization on a different path and killing every camp on the way is the most profitable thing you can do. Along the way you always dump the least valuable items and very broken medium value items. Keeping only ultra valuable things like high value body armor (fallen hero 240/260s or honor guard armor), famed items, treasures and twohanded weapons, Khopesh etc.

      @@sneakysnowman5150 They dont even need to be up to code. A good midgame strat when youve reached lvl 11 and have found some brothers to replace your mediocre lvl 11 brothers with is to level those new brothers up to lvl 7 and then go on a wilds trip.
      And in real tough fights you dont bring those lvl 7s and instead just bring everyone else until they slowly get killed off and then youve already got lvl 7 brothers to replace them with. During that wilds trip youd still train the trainees aswell in easier fights such as zombies or roaming enemy bands that arent as tough as camps.
      Then once you get back to a trade town you sell all your repaired high value loot and get a 20-40k gold boost and youve replaced 2 or 3 shitty midgame bros with better recruits who you now have famed armor and weapons for, and plenty of cash to buy extra full helms, plate armor and weapons with if you are missing some, aswell as nice famed items if the shops have some.

      @@CarveaHole Now I am trying to make a valid lone wolf 2H flail build. I began the Lone Wolf scenario getting Huge and Brute traits, and also very good overall stats. This build needs a lot of perks though, especially those high tier ones. I would like to give him Lone Wolf, Head Hunter and Fearsome, but then Underdog, Berserker, Killing Frenzy and Reach Advantage are also necessity. I regret I cannot take Colossus, Fortified Mind and Battle Forged, choosing Recover, Brawny, and Weapon Spec instead. Have you ever tried something like that? Any suggestions?

    • @stasiastes
      @stasiastes 2 роки тому +1

      @@CarveaHole I have just watched your analysis of the weapons specs. 2h flails are really not very good. So my build uses mostly one handed, or three headed flail, and I swap to the 2H one only when I get surrounded. Which happens rather rarely, because with Brute, Huge, Duelist and Crippling Strikes it smashes heads like a machine. But I am not sure about Head Hunter perk, I have to look more into how it works with 3H and 2H flails, and if it wasn't better to take some other perk instead. Like Quick Hands or Pathfinder. Perhaps also Pathfinder would be better than Brawny, I am not sure. And I totally abandoned Fearsome. Until now opponents die too quickly or suffer serious injuries, so I don't think it is worthy, but may I be wrong?

    • @CarveaHole
      @CarveaHole  2 роки тому +1

      @@stasiastes Fearsome is good for causing cascading morale checks. Some people swear by it like their own mother. For minmax play, it's likely necessary - but we're already talking about a 2h flail build soooo...

    • @stasiastes
      @stasiastes 2 роки тому +1

      @@CarveaHole I think 2H flail has some uses, for example it is great against serpents in the arena. And now I think that a Lone Wolf build with QH and Fearsome, switching between 1H and 2H flails, could be quite viable. But I needed to that goal to get at the start a brother with Iron Lungs and Fearless, or perhaps with a ery decent MDef. But instead I got Huge and Brute perks, so after all I decided to take advantage of that, or even totally minimax it. So now I am trying to make him a head hounter double specialist - with flail and sword mastery. He will lash heads with 1H flail, than switch to shamshir to just to make wounds. Perks like Cripple Strikes and Executioner, together with Duelist, Berserker and Killing Frenzy are essential. No Lone Wolf perk of course, and he will be kind of glass cannon, without Colossus and just Nimble, but I will try to manage it with a very good armor and attachments. Also not recover, but shamshir is not particularly fatigue hungry, and his level of fatigue will be quite decent. His Mdef should be over 30 at 11 level, so it is actually not as bad. If you would be interested and wanted to check that potential for yourself, here is the seed: DRUSEQMIVZ - Lone Wolf. That build for certain will not be that effective against opponents that are immune to injuries or have Steel Brow, but even in those fights it should be quite useful. He could change his weapon to 3H flail or 2H sword then. And I connot just wait to see him harming unfolds... Brute, Huge, head critical bonus, (Duelist doesnot matterhere), double grip, and eventually Executioner and Killing Frenzy, and those poor shaggy bastards should be crying with bitter tears.

Battle forged has the icon, nimble hands lets humans make 2 hits after swapping, hell even something like steel brow can be reasonably guessed because "hmm this didn't do much damage but didn't damage chest armor" but backstabber is just in accuracies. Am I supposed to read the wiki, or is there some kind of in-game resource I can use? Reminds me of the first time I ever fought a necrosavant, and after benny hill chasing it for like 10 turns, "oh, it has nine lives. and now it just jumped to an exposed brother. and now it's back to half health. great"

    • @CarveaHole
      @CarveaHole  2 роки тому +1

      I go into detail in my video "What I Learned From a High Initiative, No Whip Campaign". It's a tank that pumps has about the same level of mdef as a normal tank but also has like 130+ initiative with dodge. They're nimble of course, and with all the stats they tend to have a little lower HP/resolve. But they can easily get like 90-100 mdef at level 11, and around 70 before then (keep in mind that a good regular tank in my book is like 70 at level 11). Going first also has some uses for taunts and positioning that you don't get with other tanks, as well as ignoring status effects. Very cool build!
      Edit: you can compensate for lower raw mdef with dodge, but be wary of stuff like stagger. You want a good amount of raw mdef behind your dodge
