BAND MAID is a 5-member girls rock band. They are hard rock band and are now considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually perform 23 songs and 2 hours live. They were formed in Japan in 2013 by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato had experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara Tokyo and had the idea of playing cool songs with a maid costume. That's why the band was named Band-Maid. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, played 2 million times in two weeks and saved them from breaking up. At that time they were just around 19-22 years old. And then they have been doing LIVE overseas and increasing their fans. Now they are writing, composing and arranging all the songs. 41 videos have been released on their official UA-cam, all of which are killer songs.
★ They released the opening song "Sense" of the anime "Platinum End" . Sense has new two songs HIBANA and Corallium .
★ They appeared in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID. September 10, 2021.
★ Miku's solo project "cluppo" started on April 1st in April Fool's Day ! Second song Flapping wings released.

She was the lead singer when the band was founded,
but since Saiki became the lead singer, she started playing the side guitar for the first time.
Saiki Atsumi : Lead vocal, the youngest, member call her a teacher, she make various decisions. good at cooking
Kanami Tono : Lead guitar, composer (prolific genius), good at piano. hobby is reading. good at making sweets.
Akane Hirose : Drummer, good at funny faces, she is a big eater. she loves anime. she has a lot of friends.
Misa : Bassist, stage drinks are liquor, play with bare feet. the most shy and reticent. good at cooking
There is a good interview to find out about their personality. Lead singer Saiki has been tricked into joining the band. She says she wouldn't have participated if she hadn't been fooled. The interview has the first half and the second half.

I LOOOOOVE CRYSTAL LAKE!!!!! I saw them open for August Burns Red back in 2019 and was hooked.

Since you liked this song, I suggest you to check 2 B-side songs: Hanabi (Spark) and Corallium. Some people say these two songs are better than Sense. I think all three are different and equally great. Corallium is my fav out of three at this moment, though😁

You will like the official mv for afterlife. Besides the music being awesome, there are some fun things happening in the video. The first few seconds are filmed in the actual maid cafe that Miku used to work in back when she was in the group Lil’ Cumin. (This was before Band Maid)
Up on the wall of the maid cafe is a large picture of Miku. The owner wanted to show everyone what our little pigeon has accomplished. 🥰

For another female fronted band you could also check out Wagakki Band. They mix modern rock instrumentation with traditional Japanese instruments.

SENSE is the theme song of the new work "Platinum End" by the author of the Japanese anime Death Note, which started in October.
The lyrics were written by side guitarist Miku Kobato. She is also a favorite reader of Platinum End.
The story is about those desperate for life chosen by the 13 angels fighting to become the only god.
The angel gives them white and red arrows and angel wings as weapons, and the story goes on about life and death.
The main character is a man who does not want to fight and just wants to be happy, but he gets involved in the fight.
It will be broadcast 24 times for 6 months.

I'm from the Eastern Asia but may I ask a silly question? what does tattoo means to you guys? In my country is a Yakuza or a human trafficking symbol. Of course nowadays Japanese does have a tattoo as a fashion style.
Are you talking about my half sleeve or the little tattoos on my neck? My half sleeve is the start to my horror sleeve. I have Pennywise and Jack from the Shining to start. And then I have a plane on the left of my neck because I love to travel and a semi-colon/half heart on the right of my neck because it's a symbol for suicide awareness. :)
