Soft yanderes are pretty great! Like a palette cleanser every now and again in a smorgasbord of violent or manipulative ones.
I adore she has so much love for the listener to the point that she has become more self-aware regarding her violent and exaggerated thoughts and actions as she’s realized that respecting her love’s wants and needs is more important, and so she channels that energy into taking care of herself and her love. It’s poetic in a way.
I think it's a great take on the yandere trope and I kind of wish it were used more often: that respecting your significant other's boundaries and needs, even above your own wants, is just as extreme an expression of love as being stab happy.
