OMG...Techno is killing the Big Room and the electro scene. Just look at the UA-cam stats of Spinnin releases. The golden age of EDM was the big room of garrix, hardwell, showtek, bingo players, DVLM and many others. It is high time for the Big Room to regain its queen status. IMO
On the other hand it's unfair to compare fresh released tracks with tracks from 2014. I'm not saying, that something is better than the other. But we're looking back to a decade of many big room tracks and of course there are some gems. But the same will be for techno. Just let the genre breathe a bit. There were also dozens of big room tracks that were trash or sounds the exact same over and over again.
I'm not comparing the music of 2014 to today, but rather their impact. The Big Room (2014-2021) had much more impact and listeners. Today, to sign, you have to copy/paste what comes out on the market. Reason why too many producers don't have a phenomenal career signing with major labels because they aren't original. We of course need innovation, but if we innovate too much we lose the fan base (for labels like Spinnin). I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this given the disastrous stats for the majors on YT. It's just my opinion@@EXTSY
@@sheydenfr total fine with your opinion buddy. Partially I also agree with you, but I think there are more factors which cause the problem of today. 1.) People consume more and more. They want more songs in less time. = Less time for creativity. 2.) Creating music gets easier with time = More people name themselves DJs and create music (same shit everywhere) 3.) The Big DJs have to be innovative to stand out from the small bedroom producers. Since today nearly every bedroom DJ can produce big room like the big guys earlier, they start searching for something else. Just to name some examples - there are way more reasons in my opinion. No genre can stay and live forever without change. Surely after some years the "oldschool" big room will definitely return in a variation, like every style & trend👌🏼

Man, Jabari and Rumble Jungle have this genuine big room energy that we've been missing. Bring these styles back to Ultra.
Totally agree. I personally love this jungle/Brazilian type of style.
