seems like the easiest way to solve this "too many bridesmaids" situation is to cut out the catty bitches who think it's a popularity contest. who needs that in their life?
"honorary" bridesmaids is just dumb. How awful does that make a friend feel? just because you don't have the same number of groomsman as bridesmaids doesn't mean you can't have them all stand for you.

Obviously cost isn't an issue or she wouldn't have 11 bridesmaids and groomsmen in the first place. Those are two options. Another option would be to rethink the number and take it down to 5 or 6. Explain that the logistics of this were not thought out and changes have to be made. If I were one of these bridesmaids or honorary bridesmaids, I would be relieved to be excused from this mess. This is a bride with too much money and too weak of a spine.

Me and him, our 3 children - 5 His Sister, her Husband and their 2 children - 4 (9 people) My Parents, Sister and my 2 Nieces - 5 (14 people) OK, that's not including my Daughters Boyfriend, his Sons Girlfriend and/or Boyfriend and Girlfriend his Niece and Nephew might have, but still, that's who would be there! 14 people! Lol 😂
I had 30 people total at my wedding. Very small and intimate. Granted it was covid and that's all we were allowed! But I was relieved, I'm Indian and our weddings are normally 300+ people. Avoided all that!

Bridemaids are not really a thing in my country (Belgium, western Europe). Most bride have none bridemaids, or just one maid of honour. The maid of honour traditionnally helps the bride with the wedding, to relieve her from some stress. She can wear whatever she wants, like all the other guests, witht the difference she doesn't have to worry about "wearing too beautiful clothes" because everyone knows she's a special guest.
I'm ever so glad that bridesmaids/matrons of honour/etc. are not even a thing in my country. We mostly have two witnesses, the one for the groom might be considered Best Man, the one for the bride doesn't necessarily come with a name to the position. Occasionally, there is a ring-bearer/page boy and/or a flower girl, too. Nothing else. No fuss. Easy.
In my country, there are no bridemaids (unless the bride and groom want an americanish wedding), at most one maid of honour (for the bride) and man of honour (for the groom). Their role is helping to organize the wedding, to relieve the bride and groom from stress; the man of honour is also usually the ring bearer. Both maid and man of honour dress however they want; but has the right to wear evening dress/suit, even if other guests are dressed more casual. We don't have flower girls nor page boy. We still have fuss: my aunt (mom's sister) wanted to be the maid of honour, but my mom just told her she helped with nothing, and decided to have no maid of honour. :)
CRAZY! My wedding had 1 MOH (bestie) & 1 maid (my sister) + BM (his bestie) & 1 groomsman (my brother). Other than necessity of including other siblings, that's more than enough. 15 maids is absurd. 11 maids is absurd. Even 5 maids is absurd. Just pick the 1 or 2 who are your VERY besties + kinda-required siblings (and even that can be pared down with gentle discussion). Ditto for those in entourage. At my brother's wedding, his bride simply told my sister & me what she picked (we weren't consulted) and so be it.
I had 5 bridesmaid when I got married, my Sister, one of his friends Daughters they were both around the same age (15-16) I then had my niece and his best man Daughter, they were both 7, and then I had a 3 year old who was a last minute pick, cos she looked to cute! My Mum made all my BM dresses, the older 2 had A line prom style dresses, the 7YOs had party dresses with a big bow on the back, and the 3YO I think had a smaller version of the 7YOs dress❤
Having more than one bridesmaid isnt unheard of. It's really a staus brag thing. Especially here in the south. A lot will have their sorority sisters and family in their wedding. That being said, if you look to everyone else for approval, your wedding is gonna be stressfull as hell.
Shame she made 4 of them Honorary bridesmaids, think that caused more issues as the other bridesmaids felt more important 😞 Glad she finally listened to what SHE wanted and ignored to two whining AHs
When I got married, I had 3 Bridesmaids, and 1 junior Bridesmaid. She was a junior Bridesmaid because she was 10, and was too old to be the flower girl, which was filled by my 3 year old niece. If you want each side to match, just have a cut-off and offer other roles to the people who did not make the Bridesmaid cut...
From the start Autumn was not appearing to be a true friend with the comment that nobody has that many friends. And what's with Jodi and all her looks? Judgmental enough? By the way Liz is a stunning girl with a very nice shape and I feel like there was some jealousy about who the bride was closer to having a lot of bridesmaids. It's simple to fix this... Have one of your groomsmen walk twice. I'd never consider this. My friend's and family's feelings are much more important than having the perfect number of attendants.
yeah i think the bride was second guessing her honorary bridesmaid idea, and rightly so - that was a mistake, it just created an unnecessary division between the girls, as if some were better than others. that Liz honorary one was the nicest and most supportive one there. the others started to make the bride's wedding all about them. you don't Have to be a bridesmaid if you don't want to. if you do, i think your job is to support the bride.
I had 15 bridesmaids too bc of college friends, childhood friends, favorite cousins and 3 sisters so I get it. Thankfully, my college sweetheart husband played football and had a tight-knit friend group so he had just as many as well. It was a lot of ppl but it was great!

When I got married, I had a Maid of Honor (friend from high school) and two bridesmaids (my sister-in-law and a friend of my husband and I). My husband had a Best Man (a friend of his whose wedding he was Best man for) and three groomsmen (two of the groomsmen were brothers of the Best man and one of my brothers-in-law). If my husband's youngest brother had not left the day of the wedding, for personal reasons, he would have been a groomsman as well, but stood up on my side to balance the numbers. If my sister had been able to be there, she would have been my MOH and my friend from high school would have been a bridesmaid. I wasn't overly concerned about the number of people standing up with my husband and me being even, because at the end of the day, they were there to celebrate with us.

If you want to differentiate you can either get the same dress but put a rhinestone or accent belt on the regular bridesmaids and leave the honorary bridesmaids dresses as they come. You could also get the same dress but the long version for the regular and the short version for the honorary. Or the dresses could be the same and the bridesmaids bouquets could be a little bigger. I think it’s cruel that the regular bridesmaids are so determined to put themselves above the honorary when the bride just said the only reason they aren’t all regular bridesmaids is bc there aren’t enough guys. Why anyone needs 15 bridal attendants is beyond me and incredibly tacky though. The only reason you’d ever need that is if you have 15 sisters and not even the Duggars have 15 sisters…

The "honourary" bridesmaid seems to be the most considerate of the brides choices and feelings so why is she "honourary"!
If you want to differentiate you can either get the same dress but put a rhinestone or accent belt on the regular bridesmaids and leave the honorary bridesmaids dresses as they come. You could also get the same dress but the long version for the regular and the short version for the honorary. Or the dresses could be the same and the bridesmaids bouquets could be a little bigger. I think it’s cruel that the regular bridesmaids are so determined to put themselves above the honorary when the bride just said the only reason they aren’t all regular bridesmaids is bc there aren’t enough guys. Why anyone needs 15 bridal attendants is beyond me and incredibly tacky though. The only reason you’d ever need that is if you have 15 sisters and not even the Duggars have 15 sisters…
Honorary is usually children not your friends. It’s either they are a bridesmaid or they aren’t.

This bride made the right choice if she was just having one honorary. I can see having it different, but they all need to be in the same and those 2. They're not happy and they don't want nobody else to be their boyfriends or their husband they're in for a miserable life

I understand if you are married you are honorary they don’t take part in the single ladies club the man you have the bridesmaid and than you have the flower ladies and then the younger children I had 30 and the different groups had different dresses and we paid for them so they didn’t get a opinion. I don’t see the point of honorary bridesmaids. It will just make them feel less than “regular” bridesmaids.
I think they are right tho, 15 is too many and honorary bridesmaids is stupid. They should either be important enough to be an actual bridesmaid or they should be guests. I think the catty bridesmaids have a point, what’s the point of having honorary bridesmaids and actual bridesmaids if they are all wearing the same dress?
