Super glad to hear you talk about Vitaly, love their style and have bought some of their pieces over the last few months. Highly recommend the "Echo" and "Turbine" rings :).
Timbuk2 makes good value messenger bags. Good quality and utility for the price. I like that they are waterproof. I've been using one daily for three years with no sign of wear.
Foldable caps, Y3 have done a couple in the past and while they're hard to find as oldstock now, it's well worth keeping an eye open - If you image search 'Y3 Cap Foldable', the version with the extra ridge of fabric on the brim has been my go-to cap to put in my sling bag for the past couple years. . Can't be doing with regular ballcaps that have the squatchee button on top, give me a smooth cap any day. Also speaking of Y3 accessories, Johnny Thai had a Y3 bandana on in one of his recent videos and I had totally forgotten about buying a black and a white version super cheap in the sales last year, so I wore one yesterday while out for the day, got that desperado look going on :)
Helikon-Tex and 5.11 does make foldable caps...however since it is a tactical brand..it does have the velcro panels..so that could be a dealbreaker for some..
Speaking on paracord, you can actually use paracord to braid your own zipper pull tabs since you complained about how noisy and jangly the zipper was on the triangle pouch. I do this on most of my jacket, hoodie and bag zippers. You can even make a large loop that stays open so its easy to grasp even with gloves on or from awkward angles.
Those little pouches are perfect for carrying treats for my service dog. So thanks for making the thumbnail feature them I used to use a cane pouch until it finally came apart too much to be able to repair it, and now I have a little camera accessory bag that works fairly well but it is a bit larger than needed. Still way smaller than the bags sold for dog treats since those are fanny pack size. As for buying you own buckles and webbing instead of pre-assembled stuff, you need to be careful when buying the webbing or at least set your expectations low. I've found that the webbing that is commercially available in reasonable amounts tends to be lower quality than the stuff that factories source. They're still plenty strong but the finish on the weave is less flat and easier to snag on stuff. Which is fine if it will be inside of a fabric tube, but can look and feel cheap when used on its own. What is worse is that it is hard to tell what the exact finish will look like when buying online so you only really know once it arrives. Other colors may be easier to tell the quality of but black is the worse offender.
Dang Ant, this has been me buying stuff the last two weeks. Got a bucket load of carabiners of diff colors, shapes, and sizes from Amazon for about 10US, have also been doing the braided paracord dangly thing for about a year. (many technical shoes come with paracord laces, and an extra different set of laces in a different color.. I started by using those.) Orbit Gear has been doing 'secret deep links' the last couple weeks and a few were for a bunch of diff mod pouches, I grabbed three very different ones for about 50US and they're all.... well you how much work goes into orbit's bags. Using the molle webbing that is built into Riot Division's older fid lock belts I can make a 'utility belt' that is really a dope modular bag. Great when the heat is so much that even that over the shoulder strap is sweaty... also works super tight with Hamcus style fits. And using an extra Orbit bag strap those pouches can be turned into a very unique looking technical bag too. Great ideas Ant! (also you can rock that chain, you got it)
Pentagon have a really nice foldable hat. It's made from a quick dry material, got it for kayaking to keep my hair out of my face. Would highly recommend!
Ey bro I discovered your channel and I'm in love with the techwear style, after like 5 years i found out a fashion style that suits me, and makes me pretty happy. Thanks for giving advice about your great taste in fashion
Thanks for making me discover the Casio 1200. I had this idea in my head for some reason that Casio was an expensive brand, and seeing how affordable it is, I’ll definitely pick up at least one of their models
Yep the square pouch is definitely useful. Had it for about a year..the patch real estate is good stuff and doubles as a tools/edc/mini medkit pouch. Bonus..for carabiners, recommend checking out the Heroclip (absolutely useful for bags)
Good advise and very well outline as always! Don't forget, the best accessory to any outfit is confidence. Too bad I only feel confident in 1k+ $ clothing. I will work on myself.
Great video! Military surplus are really good options since some of them can be pretty cheap (not even just accessories, even the boots are affordable). I've also just bought a very flat sacoche from a brand called Doughnut at the reduced price of ~22usd - black and white X-pak, waterproof zipper, just a few pockets, good enough for a small notebook or just technical sanitizer and snacks (just too small for A5 though, so no reading regular books on the go, boo). And speaking of Casios, I've actually modded a Casio Royale for myself! Just some colour filter sheet cutouts for the watch face, some nail polish remover to yeet the printed text, and a few NFC tags stuck inside the watch and watch strap, and I can now Rickroll on demand with NFC. Fun, cheap, and looks unique - because it is.
Def good advice. I started shopping proper milsurp as a youth, and I still do. For accessories many have great stuff. Molle webbed water bottle holder FTW, just picked on up.
Great video, lots of cool stuff! I do have to tell you tho, when you showed your keys @ 7:39, that is essentially the same as sharing your password and it is enough information for someone to make a copy of them. I wouldn't worry too much about it, since it does take some investment (time and money), and obviously people would have to know where to use the keys if they did make them, but, in general it is bad practice to show the teeth, dimples, or even the numbers/markings on keys.
When it comes to utilitarian watches you might check out: - Casio G-Shock - Sinn Spezialuhren (more in the luxury segment) - Damasko - Victorinox (the guys that also make swiss mulittool knifes) - Omega (high end and antimagnetic to 15k Gauss)
Thanks for the video topic, it’s great to see this kind of content that focuses more on getting creative and unique! I’d love to see more like it, keep it up Antwon!!
I've been getting good mileage out of a CapSnap, which lets me hang a cap from a bag or belt loop. And I got an Add-On Pocket (from Granite Gear) where I keep sunglasses conveniently on my backpack strap.
Not only a great video - I'm definitely going to get some of this stuff for sure - but also the Persona music in the background. Just discovered your channel, but I love your content already!
Hey Airdrop, long time non interactive viewer here. I was wondering if you've taken a look at some of Orbit Gear's pants. I've seen your bag videos of their stuff but I'm really interested in their pants since they seem to have a self developed fabric that's trying to accomplish the same things as dryskin, but not for over a thousand dollars lol.
Some accessories I think everyone would like are the Alpaka Quick Release Hub, Darkmakina stickers and patches, and of course Aokuware accessories. I really want to get Aokuware's socks, but they're sold out in my size, rip
Just retired my old edc bag and got the Code of Bell Xpack sling. Granted, it is not the cheapest but it is a perfect size for carrying all your regular bits and pieces and has a very useful expandable compartment. And it is perhaps the comfortable to wear bag I have ever owned.
On sidebags, would definitely recommend Orbitgear ADV bags with the Sling System - the molle grid system allows you to attach the mods and pouches you mentioned
For summer hats, I recommend the Canadian brand Tilley. Sustainably made from recycled materials, all of them protect from the sun (50 SPF) and are either waterproof or water-resistant. Best of all, the hats are super resistant, can be thrown in the wash and come out like new. If they suffer from your hardcore lifestyle, don't worry, once purchased, the hat is guaranteed for life! Tilley has HQ in the UK, so repairs and returns are a breeze. Light Sun hats are around £50, so not cheap, but everything considered I say they are quite a bargain
Any chance you could do a full video around jackets/clothes in general that's wearable in the summer? A lot of the high end stuff like the J1A-GT is advertized as being pretty wintery, so I'm wondering which clothing can actually be worn when it's hot outside.
There are a few 'summer techwear' videos from previous years which you might find helpful! Shorts video a few weeks ago too. In general though materials like linen, ramie and tencel are great for warm weather. Even lightweight cotton tees are nice and comfy especially when slightly oversized.
My friend, can you make a review for Russian clothes brand called "Krakatau"? It would be amazing. I don't really know about its quality, should be kinda good. You can clearly see they got some inspiration from ACG x Erlson collab. So I though that might be interesting for you.
I got a pair of pants from them and they´re not too bad quality and finish wise. Lots of detailing with two ways of altering the fit so they seem to have a nice way of giving you options in how to wear them. Another example is that a lot of their jackets seem to have loops built in on the inside so you can wear them hanging of from your shoulders like a backpack if you know what I mean? Cool brand!
Just been doing some research into techwear clothing and it turns out most of mine is deemed as Gorpcore but damn Ant what is that black zip t-shirt looks very crisp
A watch that I've been using for a while now is the Huawei TalkBand B5. A very sleek, minimal sports watch that's doubles as an earpiece. Little on the pricier side, but the quality for both aspects of the device have been phenomenal.
Any idea where to get a jacket sling? Been looking for a while and cant really find any available! Comfy outdoor garment do a neat variation belt but getting one to the UK costs about 3x the belts worth (which feels unjustifiable) Failing that its a DIY job Cheers 👍 Love the content
Riot Division has packable hats for about 70usd. I’ve been looking for those more premium looking carabiners but got scared because there was no measurement chart and I don’t want to buy a massive carabiner I don’t want to wear.
I happen to love that you’re also opening up to some clip-on/MOLLE/PALS attachable pouches that are inexpensive, and affordable for everyone to get creative with in terms of customization, and same goes for the 550D paracord. As I do intend to use the paracord for bracelets, or something useful like shoelaces (yes, very helpful), I intend on getting a sling messenger bag that has MOLLE webbing, not as wide as yours but has a nice velcro panel that’s likely a 2x4, good for any patches you can slap onto. Also, since you and others have issues with the zippers being loud, especially for the cheap, the micro paracord (about 1-2mm thick) being looped through the two holes of the zipper handle and the knot being tied at the end (and most importantly, leaving 2mm of excess paracord after cutting off the rest and burning the exposed part with a lighter for a bit, and pressed something to secure it) would help silence the rattling sound, but also serves as a gripping point as well, very helpful if your hands are sweaty or if they got wet from the rain. Leaving my 2 cents here. :)
I've been hunting for that Goopimade VP-01 bag for so long now! It's such a unique carry system and I think with just that piece you can make up multiple summer appropriate outfits! Hopefully I'm able to find one myself soon >.
So glad I found your channel!! I'm totally new to Warcore/Techwear and adore the style but it's hard to tell what's good when the brand doesn't have many reviews (also broke-) So thank you so much for providing affordable options and suggestions!!!
irl there's not a huge amount you can do - graphite in the zip track can make the zip action smoother but idk how much that affects volume. In the videos I just don't use the audio when I'm zipping/unzipping stuff!
Was actually hesitant to buy from Vitaly before, mainly cause I already have a lot of jewelry. Since they are a sponsor for you now, I will take a look, keep checking, and purchase some to support you! Ps. actually just ordered 2 of the square molle pouches to experiment! (And some carabiners, and other stuff, you know how it goes when you go on Ali 😂)
Dear Antwon, Gave the video of like (of course), but NOT for more Ali express or Amazon cheap products. I appreciate we all want more bang for our buck, especially nowadays, but sacrificing ethics for economics seems antithetical with some the arguments you use in defense of techwear (buy one good quality item to last long). So the like is for more DIY projects! Unique, affordable and great! More creativity, less supporting inhumane conglomerates ! All love and support from Belgium as always
Advertising buying on Ali Express and Amazon 🤦🏽♂️I think the correct socio-economic term for that is “stooping low as F”. I used to have a little interest in those videos but damn… how the mighty have fallen.
I cover pretty much anything 'techwear' on the channel - sometimes that includes premium-priced luxury stuff (I've covered Acronym twice in the last month for example), sometimes it includes extremely cheap stuff. I didn't really talk about the downsides of buying from those types of retailers in a more general sense (which I have done in previous videos) but I think I was clear enough in showing the super-cheap accessories aren't going to blow you away in terms of what they have to offer, but their size helps mitigate that. If I were purchasing from AliExpress I'd sooner buy these very small items than more significant ones like jackets and cargos (which we've looked at in more detail in previous weeks). Totally cool if you're not interested in the cheap stuff (in which case I have a lot of other more appropriate content) but what I choose to cover has nothing to do with 'stooping low' or suchlike. Would you take the same view of a car reviewer covering affordable cars as well as supercars? Or a tech reviewer covering midrange Android phones as well as the latest iPhone?
What do you think of the upcoming off-white x nike air force 1 mids for techwear outfits? Lots of the mainstream sneakerheads seem to dislike the shoe but I think it has somewhat of a cyberpunk vibe
I saw those! I could see them working in techwear fits for sure and I agree on the cyberpunk aesthetic. I'm not a huge fan of how they look personally but would like to see someone pull them off
Finally a video of stuff I can afford
Yep
Super glad to hear you talk about Vitaly, love their style and have bought some of their pieces over the last few months. Highly recommend the "Echo" and "Turbine" rings :).
Ah amazing, glad you like them as well!
same i was really surprised to hear that sponsor theyre my favorite brand :)
Wtf they’re 60 dollars for 1 ring nahh
That WhyWorks belt should have been showcased. I’ve got 5 of them and they are incredibly durable

I was thrilled to see Timex (formerly Waterbury Clock Company) get mentioned, very cool watch, your videos are always brilliant!
Picked up a nice Orbitgear sling bag from JawnFlip before they merged for $60 USD. Absolutely perfect as a ride-bag for my Boosted Board!

Don't goto alpha industries for military surplus stuff you can goto a military surplus store and get that stuff for way cheaper.
Your new intro reminds me of a PS1 demo disk menu
That was pretty much the goal!

The original watch from alien is the only real techwear watch
That last part talking about watches makes me wonder what watch it is that he is always wearing, including in this video. Anyone know?
Would you take the same view of a car reviewer covering affordable cars as well as supercars? Or a tech reviewer covering midrange Android phones as well as the latest iPhone?
this video has 480p lol
thanks for making the GOOPiMADE VP-01 Utility G-Mask Bag sell out... now i cant find it anywhere just because i wanted to wait :(
What do you think of the upcoming off-white x nike air force 1 mids for techwear outfits? Lots of the mainstream sneakerheads seem to dislike the shoe but I think it has somewhat of a cyberpunk vibe
I saw those! I could see them working in techwear fits for sure and I agree on the cyberpunk aesthetic. I'm not a huge fan of how they look personally but would like to see someone pull them off
