    Hi Melda, we watch quite a few of your videos and love them all. Question, why do we choose corn meal for crack conch but flour, baking powder and corn starch for crack chicken? Is it because the meat are different? Have you tried the corn meal with the crack chicken?

    • @Melda242
      @Melda242  2 роки тому +1

      Hello Shanieka, thank you for stopping by today.
      That's a good question and yes it's because the meats are different and to show that the corn meal works as well. I have yet to try it on the chicken, but will soon, ok. God bless you, today!

    What do you mean by bruised? Looks good. I bought some conch from the fish market, is it normal for some of the pieces to have darker colors or should it all be clear? Might try this recipe. It looks good 👍🏽 How long should I soak it in milk?

    • @Melda242
      @Melda242  4 роки тому

      Hello PT thank you for watching. I appreciate your kindness and support. To bruised is the same as to 'beat' or 'smashed' it. I was told that if the conch is dark it shouldn't be eaten - 'it might be' poison. I wouldn't use it. After beating the conch allow it to soak for about 10 to 15 minutes before cooking.

      Ms. Remelda: thank you for enhabcing my cooking skills.
      Just a few tit bits instead of using salt: I don't because the conch has lived all its life in salt water: so it's very high in sodium.
      I sprinkle the conch with fresh crushed garlic while it's in the milk
      In the cornmeal I add paprika

    Does it matter if I added garlic to my conch as it marinates instead of the minced onions and added the minced onions to my flour mixture

      Hello Jenson, thank you for watching and supporting my channel. I appreciate your kindness. Oh yes, you can add garlic instead. I know that would be lit. I do sometimes as well, because I love garlic. Happy cooking and stay safe now.

      Hello Jake, thank you for watching and supporting my efforts. You probably used too much. I always use only a thin layer. You could mix a little with flour and see how it works out for you. God bless and stay safe.

    Every time I fry using egg or buttermilk the inside is always still wet moist.. uneatable. Maybe that's due to using flour

    • @Melda242
      @Melda242  4 роки тому +1

      Welcome to my channel and thanks for watching. Two things: maybe the heat is too high or you are not cooking it long enough. I'll do a video with flour and show you soon.
