Great video only half way through, brother. Also though.. fix your beard brother.

Theo really is a comedic genius…he makes it seem like he’s stupid or doesn’t know what’s going on, but it’s all for the bit. Every single thing he says and does is to make the situation as funny as it can be, even when it requires that he makes himself look dumb.
Other comedians may do that at times, but no other comedian does it so dutifully without needing to say “guys, I’m not actually dumb, I’m just trying to be funny.”
Norm McDonald was often regarded as the smartest guy in the room playing the dumb guy
@@seanrodgers7327I think every Theo Von also loves Norm McDonald. Both legends and have that thing.
It’s all about the timing for me. You can tell he knows when to pull the “dumb” pause or trip on the word he looking for. Most people listening think of the punch line then, address it is funny and in turn feel smart about comedy. Then he hits with something completely wild and way out of the box.
I don't think it's that deep. I think he's just being him and we fucking love it.❤
what an incurious take
I was in Dublin in January 2020 and randomly ran in to Theo. Really the only celebrity I have ever talked to besides politicians and that doesn't count. He was completely genuine and curious about myself and the group of people I was with (a water polo team). It is an awesome memory I have and am thankful for. An authentic dude through and through. Much love
Edit: See below for the whole story! And thanks for all the likes #ganggang
Man that's cool
Theo Von is genuinely one of the funniest ppl to ever live
Dublin wtf ? I wanted to meet him so bad, he was in Dublin, god why
Bro that’s awesome would u mind telling some of the story?
@@samsherrill8316 yeah! I work for a tour company, I had a college water polo team I was taking around Ireland. We were at Trinity College and I turned around and Theo was like twenty feet away from me looking at the same building we were just coming out of, the Trinity Library. I was like 'Theo Von??' he said 'sup dude'. He had two or three homies with him, I asked if he was doing shows, and the previous night had been his last one so I didn't get to see him perform.
He asked what was in the building and I told him a little bit about the Book of Kells. He asked about the team, and was like **insert Theo voice** 'so y'all out here splish splashin' around then huh'.😅
I asked him for a photo and he graciously took one with me. Talked for maybe five min max.
No one else in my group knew him and thought I had ran into someone I knew personally. a couple guys did know who he was once I told them. It was a neat interaction.
I saw Tracy Morgan in Times square on the street once getting in to his Ferrari but he didn't want to talk or take photos, which is totally understandable, especially in that hectic environment.
He is the kind of person we need to hold in the spotlight. God bless that dude.
I remember someone describing the late great Norm Macdonald as the "smartest guy in the room, pretending to be the dumbest". I think there's a lot of that in Theo as well. Sincere, playful, understated but really funny. Great vid Jimmy!
Theo used to open for Norm Macdonald!
@@raine0000that's awesome! I had no idea
probably where he grew up being a smarty pants will get your @ss kicked
Theo is the GOAT. So many jokes fly over peoples heads it's really funny if you pay attention.
They probably think Theo is a moron, because he makes a lot of these conversational jokes at his own expense 😂 you know like pretending to be a village idiot
Quote a few. Just give me 3. Hes funny, but its a simple funny. Im curious what jokes you think go over peoples heads.
@@prototype8137not jokes in his specials, just jokes he makes in passing during podcasts. I’m honestly not a huge fan of his specials but I’ve listened to every single TPW since 2017, a lot of his comedy is obscure references and little anecdotes but he’s not for everyone.
@@prototype8137 Joe Rogan. Bill Burr.
@@nitsua8143 Yeah give us 3 of those passing jokes he's made during podcasts that went over your head. I'm interested too
I met him after seeing him with an ex. He took a picture and joked around a bit then looked me right in the eyes and said “take care of each other”. It was so vulnerable and real. That’s his gift
"I don't think he was a cripple, they just never taught him to walk."
Lmao
Theo is Theo, and that's why everyone loves him so much. He doesn't play a character, he just does what comes natural to him, being him.
He's bad at stand up though
@@Josh-sj9igYour the worst kinda human.
Yeah, no one can fabricate a childhood like Thep
@@Josh-sj9ignever seen his stand up but who evens cares if he’s not the best at that he’s amazing on his podcast and tbh to me it’s really difficult to be funny when you have to make these jokes up where I feel if you can make up jokes while in the podcast setting that’s more important
@@Josh-sj9igtrue, imo he needs some1 else like in a podcast to be at his best. Look at his JRE podcasts
Theo deserves all the success he's gotten. Honestly his vulnerability and honesty creates a connection that no other comedian has created. At least with me.
You nailed it
Theo is an amazing person, he did good for himself.
For real he has a lot of nice positive videos too
He's definitely giving me the "genius that plays dumb in a room" vibes. A bit like Norm MacDonald like he uses to do
Norm was on a whole different spectrum, man was truly built different. But I agree, he's a genius but he uses that genius to play dumb for comedy purposes and honestly I think it helps him maintain his image
This guy is a poet when it comes to comedy and delivery. A lot of people can’t really comprehend the level of genius his comedy is, regardless if stories are exaggerated or not.
My favorite strain of weed is cocaine..
Love that one! Hilarious
I’m so happy for Theo he deserves all the success he’s getting and as someone who has also felt I don’t fit in or feel accepted a lot of my life to see that reaction at the end of the audience and Theo getting emotional and feeling accepted is so beautiful and the fact he felt no one cared now loads of people care.
"Thank you for laughing at my daddy" 🤣 dead ☠️💀🤣
He is just so naturally funny 🤣
A true comic genius.
Wonderful video
Thanks so much 😊
"We're in a group right now, but I'm totally Alone"
I FELT THAT IN MY SOUL
I’ve met Theo in person a few times - he’s an authentic person and a beautiful soul. It’s great to see how many people love him and all this love going his way. I wish him the very best and hope that he stays true to himself and wins all his battles
Theo is one of the most humblest guys. Im so happy hes now getting the recognition he truly deserves.
I saw Theo live maybe like 6 years ago and Jesus Christ he is absolutely insanely funny at all times. He just doesn't stop.
Theo is very loved these days, he just gives off that vibe of comming from the struggle. His stories, even when exaggerated make you chuckle a bit.
The part where dude says he doesn’t know what to do anymore. Hit. Hit hard. Theo is a great dude.
You did a fantastic and amazing job with this man. Thank you for this insightful video bruh
I think people assume Theo is TRYING to be what he naturally just IS, and they don't dive any deeper than sound bites. Listen to his podcast and you quickly understand the gig. He speaks his own language. If you can understand it, you're going to absorb good things, imo. This was good, thanks!
the heartfelt shit that comes out of theo is the most genuine statements ive ever heard. it makes me tear up everytime. this man cares so much about the people around him its astonishing
his comment about his father and not getting to know him better was great insight to how good of a person he really is beneath his internet persona.
💯
First vid of yours I’ve seen but watched it because Theo, and now subbed. Anyway great vid and great delivery. You get straight to the point and the editing is smooth and dynamic.
There's a lot of these oddball personalities making content that appeals to other oddballs. The difference with Theo is that he seems to have transcended that barrier, and despite being an oddball himself, he's managed to fit in with normal, well-adjusted people and become such a loveable person, while still being his true self. Truly an inspiration to me and other weirdos and oddballs who feel like we just don't belong or understand how to play this game of life.
Much love for Theo. I'd love to see him live in the UK
When Theo did his shows in Austin TX I saw him standing out front the venue after it ended just talking to people and taking pictures.
He really cares about his fans and people in general.
I met Theo at the Comedy Store in Hollywood and I cornered him and said hey I'm a huge fan and shook his hand lol he looked confused and said Hey I'm Theo lmao. I know who you areeee. His openness about mental health really helped me out ngl..
Theo got me out of hard times truly. God bless his soul. He deserves the world and more, we really need more of his charisma
As someone who was a fan of Theo since his first special dropped on Netflix in 2016, boy what a ride it’s been. The first Diaz podcast, his own, what a legend.
For some reason I miss your videos and then once in a while your videos pop up and I THANK GOD theres a bunch to binge. I love the way you deliver and I learn so much from you
Good for Theo such a genuine guy so funny iv been a fan since his first Jim and Sam appearance and I love seeing him skyrocket.
He says the craziest and most chaotic things ever and I love it. Dude is next level funny.
he's actually one of the deepest thinkers of our time i think, he shouldnt be underestimated

Theo said something one day that struck me as so extraordinarily profound my jaw literally dropped. And what it was escapes me at the moment but I just remember feeling genuinely shocked 😂
His perspectives are amazing
Just seen him in Edmonton. He was amazing. Super nice to the fans. Inspiring it's like he shares his success with everyone he deserves it all.
Aye Alberta gang, Calgary here
For the people who don't understand the depth and layers of Theo's jokes that sucks for you. Glad to be part of team Theo since I first saw him Netflix like 8 years ago with his debut. Love that guy
I always thought this about him - everything he talks about could get him cancelled these days, yet he does it in a genius way where he includes, normalises and uplifts people. Thank you for this video
The last "made me feel like accepted" got me too tbh. What a great guy.
u look like mac millers hypothetical older brother good video
He seems to be one of the more genuine people in that incestuous "comedy" podcast bubble.
Theo has this really cool ability that makes me feel like him and I are friends and that I’ve known him for so long. The way he can just connect to people is insane. Truly a treasure of a human. Love that man forever.
Born a few hours from me this man is a comedic genius and a amazing storyteller if they are made up or not or if he's serious or not. These type of guys bring ppl together.
Theo Von is brilliant. He’s literally as deep and profound as Duncan Trussell, who I consider to be the deepest of all the podcasters/ comedians out there! After watching their podcast together, I realized for the first time how deep Theo was and his ability to be poetic and connect everything with brilliant analogies!
Theo Von is one of the only reasons I’m proud to be from Louisiana. That and knowing how to make crawfish.
That and knowing how to fertilize your cousins.
@@SlavaEremenko well if I don’t fertilize them the who will?
aren't you legally obligated to call em crawdads when you live in the south
@@street-meat that’s actually a divisive topic down here. Why is crawDADs and not Crawmamas
How do you make them bro? Or do you mean cook them??
Insane research on this one. Sick work broski
What a great video thank you
Theo is an authentic person, who isn’t afraid to show humility. From what I’ve noticed with him, he can’t get enough of learning about people/things/the world around him. He’s open regarding his life, and seems to really live in the moment. And it’s beautiful. 🌞
This man has had the craziest childhood ever. Give him any name and he'll give you a childhood story
well he makes up the funniest and wittiest stories but that's his shtick. People who say "HE'S LYING" look so dumb and like Joe Rogan who doesnt get jokes that are obviously jokes. It's literally his style. Bill Burr talks about black vs white ppl and yells. Mitch Hedberg does hallmark card one liners one after the other, Patrice O'neal was rude and judgmental af. Each are one of the comedy greats and Theo has his shtick
I respect you for making this man
Superb video Jimmy ! Theo Von really doesn't get enough credit imho.
Him and Bobby Lee together was probably the hardest i ever laughed while listening to a podcast xD
You're on point with the type of topics you cover in your content. Fair play Jimmy.
Anyone who misunderstands Theo isn't worth listening too
Followed Theo for a very very long time and it's nice to see him get his flowers the last 5 years. He's so amazing much just such a real dude. Nobody is like him
I never thought about that, Theo was born when his was 70. By the time he grew up to need a father to show him life, his dad was already close to his end. Idk how I could process that, truly, and I have my own stories growing up crazy in Chicago and experiencing hell on more than one occasion.
This is really well done
Theos such a sweetheart and I wish nothing bust the best for him in life
Amen. I am a 53 year old Mom...just took my 21 year old son to see Theo! I WISH him the best
I accept you theo! You are loved for everything you are, the good, the bad, the hilarious, and everything else. ❤ You're okay brother.
I’m so happy he’s getting the recognition he deserves. I’ll never forget the first time I saw him talking long form and I was fucking crying constantly. He’s genuinely one of the funniest people out there but isn’t worried about getting deal when needed. Get a better microphone or fix the sound issue because I can tell you are in a big room with the echo.
he's blown up since leaving king and the sting. Now, i seen him the other day on a post with Tobe Nwigwe for fk sake. ring side at UFC fights with the greats or big name celebs, professional football players. Good for him
My favorite thing about Von is just how he puts sentences together ... his brain just works differently and he doesn't filter it out. His standup is hilarious, but just hearing him talking about stuff is on another level. In a room full of top notch comedians he's almost always the funniest dude in the room and the one that's cracking them all up.
Theo von is bar none my favorite comedian, he's 1 of a kind, you could give any comedian Theos material and none of them could pull it off like Theo.
Great video thanks
I have so much time for Theo. There's things he's said during his more reflective and motivational times and they've impacted me so much. Genuinely made me a better at being a person in the world.
Then he goes and drops some of the best comedy going.
He's good people.
Been enjoying Theo's comedy and podcast for several years. What I love is he'll have non comedian non famous people on his pod like a regular truck driver, plumber or mortician. Just regular ass people where it's still funny but you also get a slice of life that you'd probably never know about. If you wanna find some of the funniest shit - check out anything Theo does with Bobby Lee, they are a hilarious duo.
I love Theo vons dark humour is so refreshing these days
I’m Cajun, from far south louisiana, and I have never felt more represented than when I first heard Theo tell a story. Like it made me realize that there isn’t really anyone famous from Louisiana that I could relate to outside of Theo. I know of a lot of singers, actors, athletes, and just famous people in general, but I had never felt connected to them as much as I do to Theo
Great video man
Ended up snorting coke with the taxi driver, then suddenly Theo drove the taxi 😂 The dude is different man. Different approach to comedy, different timing. He is 💯 funny and original. I don’t think is the funniest on stage, but he is the funniest comedian in real life, podcasts, conversations etc
His podcast with Louis C.K. was absolutely one of the most genuinely down to earth podcasts ever to be recorded, we ( humans ) are weird asf, and with theo and louis you get two raw and unfiltered voices on the human experience which is very rare and extremely inciteful, check it out if you get a chance.
his Scott Staap episode was underrated too
@bkrendan12 will have to watch it
It was great! At first you could see Louie being fascinated by how on earth Theo's brain works and Louie kinda matching the vibes

I really love Theo so much. He's so funny, at the same time touches on all these different interesting subjects with clever points and at the same time comes with introspective thoughts about him and mental health, real life situations, relationships, meaning of life and situations in it... He's one of a kind and I'm so grateful that I live in the same time as him, I admire him so much man.
I remember watching him on Joe Rogan's podcast one night just randomly....ended up listening through the whole thing. Funny enough, it was the first podcast i ever listened to, what a treat😂
“They just never taught him to walk, I don’t even this he was crippled” lmaoooooo

Everyone loves him. Sure some people might think he’s not the sharpest or brightest but others do realize he actually is very intelligent. Regardless most people love the dude. Cool as hell, funny as hell, and a good kind heart
Theo is an American Karl Pilkington. Both comedy geniuses, fully genuine but can play to the part. Incredible People
This is actually a brilliant comp
Wow. Theo Von is my new favorite person. Thank you for the video.
I met Theo on the day i celebrated 3 years off drugs. In the meeting line, he stopped it all, went and got me a championship belt to put on for our picture. He really does give a shit.
I love Theo. I had a smilar childhood (although less gettho) and a lot of his jokes just resonates so hard with me. Makes me laugh and cry at the same time sometimes. He is genuine.
Hit me right in the feels. It's awesome to see good people with real insecurities do well in life. What Theo wants in life represents what all of us good normal people want in life, to be accepted and to be happy
He flew out to Vegas n surprised Joey Diaz at his first Netflix special. One of the only times I saw Uncle Joey get teared up.
Theos one of a kind. He has saved my life.
Shout out for seeing the pig on here! Life in the big city!!
theo interviewing the plumber is still one of his best podcasts, he is great around normal people you can tell he relates to the everyman
I've said for a long time that he's a lot smarter than he first seems
I wish more people could be like theo.
Agreed
Great job,man 👍
The people you don't understand are often the people you should get to know. Thanks for this video.
It’s awesome to see good people win the game, love Theo!
Theo is so funny in ways that require you to think differently…my “friends” who I would consider “woke” all hate him and I can’t understand why
Lmao your friends just suck.woke people aren't immune to jokes
Cause to understand someone different than you, you have to think critically and insightfully. Many, not all "Woke" people have a narrow world view and regurgitate the same view they watch online.
Comedic genius and model American. Bless this man. Love you Theo

I saw Theo in 2018 at the store. It was one of those tiny shows Rogan would use to practice material. Theo came on first and just destroyed and I was like who the hell is this guy?! I saw him a few months later back home in Chicago and he delivered yet again. See him live if you can!
i can relate to theo von a lot honestly, not to sniff my own farts but i get it, i grew up believing everyone hated me too, the answer to that ? say things that sound dumb even if you know they're wrong, because they lead into a better more fun conversation. no-one likes a smartass, drink, be dumb, do funny shit. you want to read about botany ? laugh about it with your friends and call it nerd shit whilst reading it by yourself. im certainly no genius, but i do act like im stupider than i am because being dumb and funny is more likeable than a long rant about some random autistic shit you know about.
i'd rather be seen as stupid and fun than smart and annoying, so i keep that front up unless im anonymous (like here). i think theo is the same, he's not just playing a character most of the time, this is who he is, a solid chill dude and him acting dumb is his defence for feeling unliked.
holy shit this is so relatable
im the same with my humor. I think its funny. but i have been called ditzy by a handful of people before loll and when people get to know me ive heard a lot “I was surprised how insightful you actually are!”
That "dead man walkin'" just killed me, the dude on the right had to muster all the strength he had just to stop himself from laughing on the spot!
He’s one of the funniest people alive. Truly inspiring how he comes up with jokes on the spot my kind of person! 😊
