I'm not a Bombers or a Carlton supporter, a proud Tigers fan (no comments!) How are injuries an "excuse"? Media loves to talk about injured players when it suits the narrative, but when they need the "story", it's suddenly "No Excuses!".. Well, guess what, it's not an excuse, it's a fact.. Also, Essendon could've definitely won that game, they simply didn't kick straight.. The effort and determination is there and they're the most important aspects.. Of course the execution is a main key
Kath hit the nail on the head.. "what stops them from executing in the crucial moments when the games there to be won..?". It's happened against Carlton, Adealide, Gold Coast & even Collingwood... Should've been 6-7 goals up against the Pies when they were in their slump.
McKay supposedly went to the Bombers to play finals footy. It would be funny if North make finals before the Bombers do even though North has a very long way to go.
If they kicked straight and capitalized on all the ball they were given in Q4, they would have won. I'm not an Essendon fan, but this discussion is getting boring. It's a shame Andy McGrath's brilliant chase-down tackle wasn't rewarded with a win.
Bad kicking is bad football and it costs your side. Brisbane Lions are a classic case in point over the last 5 years. Unfortunately they were at it again on Saturday. 😉🇦🇺👊
Anyone who can't convert easy opportunities in front of goal should be delisted, I'm so sick of players on huge contracts that can't execute the basics
@@jasonfrisken7606 it's annoying as a neutral. Imagine being a supporter of club with bad forwards. There are some in their mid 20s, 5th-6th season and still unreliable. Some of them media favs. Also feel like other position players don't get as much leeway - mids for example have to perform week in and out.
McGarb is the weakest player.. he has had so many half assed broken tackles, if it wasn’t for his chase down all his half efforts would be mentioned. worse VC ever
Carlton is a repeat of 2023. At the end of the season they had a game where they had a bunch of injuries. West Coast suffered 3 years of injuries and changed their High Performance Coach at the end of 2023. Other than impact injuries, they have done better with soft tissue injuries. Yeo has finally put together a string of games. Maybe Carlton need to do the same.
Blah, blah, bloody blah. Excuses, excuses from Essendon again. It's no different from anything they've said over the last 20 years. Are they better than the performances they've delivered since the bye? Maybe. But they're so full of themselves that they bought into their own hype and forgot to actually play games. 1.9 in a fourth quarter when your season is on the line is beyond gutless and pathetic.
There is no excuses read the room no Essendon fan or analyst thinks that there was a problem with the umpiring or injury's it was simply a case of bad execution and that's what happens when you field an inexperienced side a lot of whom who have had less then 12 months to gel together Essendon will be fine over the next couple years champ
@@TobiasTiddles In terms of the next few years, I agree. I remember the 1999 Preliminary Final well. That one point loss to Carlton still stings even 25 years later. But what Essendon then became in 2000 was phenomenal. Also 2001, even though they didn't go back to back. The close losses to Adelaide and Gold Coast this season will cut deep. And they should. But if Essendon can use that pain to replicate the years of 1999-2001, look out.

The two biggest failure clubs? Both equal with Collingwood on 16 flags! Sure we’re having a bad patch but calling two of the most successful clubs in the history of the games failures is just a moronic statement

Essendon is a Basket case they haven't been any good since the Kevin Sheedy days also the Drug saga has not helped all thanks to James Hird
Robbo, please get some help.
The irony of saying to someone “get some help” when harassing a guy daily (for no reason);and whose father just died
