I remember first seeing this game in the Laundry Mat and I was so impressed by it. I remember choosing King because he had a leopard head and his name is King so I thought it was logical to think he has to be the best person in the game. I also remember Jack just randomly dying so I assumed he runs out of batteries or something, or my memory is just completely wrong.
Cmon, the graphics ain't bad, they're just from a different era and different engine. It's like saying a Model T looks like crap compared to the cars we have now, granted engineering has come a long way in a short time period for both cars and video games, the classics have retro charm and are made for a different and simpler time.
Yeah, I can actually kinda phsyc myself into enjoying the graphics like I you could in the past, it makes gta sa on ps2 with an old tv look pretty good, so I just enjoy it for what it is, so though they technically aren't as detailed, or realistic, I really enjoy the old graphics.

In the arcade back in the day when I was a kid tekken was present within the arcade but never really actually played it in the arcade . I was like you watching older kids playing tekken . My main fighting game that took all my coins was marvel vs capcom 2 . Shesh thinking back I could have purchased the game for console . I still feel accomplished though that I actually beat an arcade game all the way through in the arcade on an arcade panel. I even recall being challenged by kids my age and would beat them . My key was fidgit with the analog and literally massage all the buttons haha haha good ole days when we didn't think too much about the moves we did before doing them
People noticed that Jack’s head and arms are much bigger than the rest of his body and now they’re comparing him to G.I. Joe which he kinda looks like a G.I. Joe character in this game
Great video! Tekken is one of my favourite video game franchises :) In response to your comment about the game's music though. I also love the soundtracks to the earlier Tekken games. The way I see it is that back then, the songs actually sounded like GAME music, with the sound chips in the consoles/arcades contributing to that perhaps. These days they try to make the games have more movie-like soundtracks, full-on orchestras etc. But with that, I've always felt the old 'feel' of game music went away years ago, and I'm not sure they will ever get it back again. I hope you understand what I mean! Keep up the good work :) (And yes, Tekken 1's AI is CHEAAAP)
I entirely agree with him, 3 and especially 2 have the best ost period in the Tekken series, some of my favorites in games actually. But I actually like a handful of 7's tracks and the one track for Azazel

Great game, I played it via Final Burn the first time, as the first i saw in arcades was tekken 3. I read about tekken 2 in the magazines back in the day but I couldn't play it, because in the ps1 era I still had my megadrive, and I was playing super street fighter and UMK3. All this arcade games are mental in terms of difficulty and as you said they just allow you to make shitty tricks to break the AI system. That's why I like neo geo games from 95 till the end of the console, as such as Garou MOTW, last blade 1 and 2, or the king of fighters franchise, because they were rather fair with your playgame and you could fight and peform some combos without shitty tricks. Anyway, I have been your subscriber for one year and I have seen mostly every single video, and I also love playing fighting games as you can see in my channel. I am living now in Sydney after three years living in UK. I don't know if you live in sydney or other part in australia, but if you live around here we can meet and play some fighting games and drink some beers one day. Hey, MrGSTAR. I'm a big fan of your playthroughs and I'm glad you played Tekken 1. If you ever go back to it and you're looking to spam the AI, exploit the opponents right after you've got them on the ground. Just spin kick them while they're down once, then when they try to get up, run and jump kick them. Rinse and repeat. It'll take time to get used to but it works with every character. Keep up the videos!

hey, GSTAR321, i wanted to share an tip, if you're using MAME and wanna lower the difficulty press the F3 button and it will open up the machine where there's a game options menu where you can change time limit and difficulty. And u can exit and save by pressing F2 button
Tekken 2 and 3 for me. Then TTT (you might call me crazy) but I enjoyed the 1st Tag Tournament more so than the 2nd. Tekken 6 was good. Tekken 5 was great. I want that one again to engage more into the story. Tekken 4 saw a major transition in the series. I really like how endings were given cinematic cut scenes, how they introduced the new Story mode with the new artwork illustration to tell the story, along with the adding a real boxing fighter and the 1st to ever include the "wall system" some fans like it some fans don't, but It's a matter of opinion on that.
+Adam Demeter That's nice to know, but I think Tekken 2 is really when the series gained a name for itself. Tekken 2 is the 1st one I really played and got into. +MrGSTAR321 it's a whole different fighting system well what I'm trying to say is it dosent feel like a capcom or mk or tekken game at all . it's more agresive fighting and more face paced . it's Hella fun they're are a shit load of characters in it but top 5 (for me at least) that are extremely fun with to play are Joe Clark rugal (the actual boss , you could only choose him on the play version) K' Ryo and Iori but you can't play any other kof except kof 2002 97 ' and '00 are very fun too pretty much play that shit
You should play Tekken Tag Tournament when you have the chance. This game is my favorite and features all characters from the first 3 games along with some new ones. The soundtrack is killer too!

Hey, I have a question if anyone is at all familiar. I'm wondering if on this game for PS1, whether the other characters' sub-bosses show up while playing arcade as a particular character? So, for instance, if I'm playing Michelle, will I ever see Wang or Ganryu or Kuma in the arcade considering that I had went to the trouble of unlocking them with the other characters' sub bosses? I'm only asking because I have a feeling that I'd only really ever use Michelle, and I wouldn't know if I'd feel incomplete having never even ventured into the other characters' arcades, unless it made a difference within Michelle's own arcade.
That song had escaped my memory until now. I remember only really playing on Arcade mode, so whenever I fought on Armor King's stage, it played the sub-boss theme rather than Monument Valley.
Nostalgia. I would play this at the old skating rink in my city till it got tore down in 2017. For some reason I don't remember the hits being green, but all the characters bring back SO many good memories.
Not sure if you mentioned it.. One difference between the arcade version and playstation version is that in the arcade version the location is called Marine Stadium.. In the playstation version it's just called Stadium, and there is a screen on the location that displays the fight too... Something makes me think Anna's hair is different in the arcade version also.. I never really liked King but some of his special moves are incredible I'll have to play as him at some point
Good job! You did good. I have first played the PlayStation version of Tekken 3 (I THINK I played the Arcade version too, but I don't remember because I was only 8 years old). I briefly played the PS1/PSX version of the first two Tekkens and I also played Tekken 4 on the PlayStation 2. I even played the Arcade version of Tekken 5. But I have NEVER played Tekken 6, and I don't know if I should try Street Fighter X Tekken. Who thinks I should try that game? Are you planning to do Tekken 4, 5 and/or 6 on your channel?

+MrGSTAR321 it's a whole different fighting system well what I'm trying to say is it dosent feel like a capcom or mk or tekken game at all . it's more agresive fighting and more face paced . it's Hella fun they're are a shit load of characters in it but top 5 (for me at least) that are extremely fun with to play are

You should play Tekken Tag Tournament when you have the chance. This game is my favorite and features all characters from the first 3 games along with some new ones. The soundtrack is killer too!

I remember the very first time seeing this game and it was also the first time I saw a actually playstation I wanted to play on it so bad but didn't get too but not long after that I did get to play on the playstation I think the first game I played was Resident Evil but at the time I didn't like the control's but I did love Tekken from the first Go and I got used to the Resident Evil control's and became a big fan of the Resident Evil games
Hey, I have a question if anyone is at all familiar. I'm wondering if on this game for PS1, whether the other characters' sub-bosses show up while playing arcade as a particular character? So, for instance, if I'm playing Michelle, will I ever see Wang or Ganryu or Kuma in the arcade considering that I had went to the trouble of unlocking them with the other characters' sub bosses? I'm only asking because I have a feeling that I'd only really ever use Michelle, and I wouldn't know if I'd feel incomplete having never even ventured into the other characters' arcades, unless it made a difference within Michelle's own arcade.
Ever noticed how creepy Monument Valley's music is? I've just noticed it now, and I've been playing the Tekken games as soon as I exited the womb.
It's always been creepy to me ever since I started with Tekken 2.
That song had escaped my memory until now. I remember only really playing on Arcade mode, so whenever I fought on Armor King's stage, it played the sub-boss theme rather than Monument Valley.
I was able to remember it since I played the multiplayer a lot with my brother and my dad back in the day.
I wish I had friends to play with in Tekken
I sorta do, but they're better at 2D fighters like Guilty Gear (not that I'm complaining, as GG is my favorite fighter)

Nostalgia. I would play this at the old skating rink in my city till it got tore down in 2017. For some reason I don't remember the hits being green, but all the characters bring back SO many good memories.

Not sure if you mentioned it.. One difference between the arcade version and playstation version is that in the arcade version the location is called Marine Stadium.. In the playstation version it's just called Stadium, and there is a screen on the location that displays the fight too... Something makes me think Anna's hair is different in the arcade version also.. I never really liked King but some of his special moves are incredible I'll have to play as him at some point

I have first played the PlayStation version of Tekken 3 (I THINK I played the Arcade version too, but I don't remember because I was only 8 years old).
I briefly played the PS1/PSX version of the first two Tekkens and I also played Tekken 4 on the PlayStation 2.
I even played the Arcade version of Tekken 5.
But I have NEVER played Tekken 6, and I don't know if I should try Street Fighter X Tekken.
Who thinks I should try that game?
