      Look, you guys all bitch about George McCaskey, but all the Owners are business people,
      and none are Football people.
      Look at the woman that inherited the Lions.
      They were terrible for a long time and now there top 2.
      Dan Campbell put alot of that in motion.
      There's at least 10 women Owners that know nothing about football and 90% of the men Owners are the same.
      George + Ted were cheap in the old days but George has payed out 4th in the league this yr 253 billion and 224.8 last yr.
      Warren is the one that pushed Flus out and Poles saw the light, and George heard so much complaining at the Game Thursday he agreed.
      George is the 1 that gets stuck paying Flus's contract of 3.5 M this yr and next year.

    Dear McCaskeys,
    Do you even remember your long history of failure and incompetence? Let me remind you. Virginia, you had to fire your own son Michael for botching a hire-how embarrassing is that? You hired Phil Emery, the same guy who humiliated Bruce Arians, forcing the Coach of the Year to act out a press conference during his interview, only to pass on him entirely. Then you drafted Trubisky-a quarterback with nine college games-over Patrick Mahomes.
    Oh, but it gets better. Back in the late ’70s, Bill Walsh wanted the Bears job. He practically handed it to you on a silver platter, and you said no, hiring Neil Armstrong instead. And now we’ve got Eberflus, the latest example of your ineptitude. Who’s responsible for this mess? Not the coaches. Not the GMs. It’s you-the McCaskeys.
    George, you call yourself a fan of football? Fine. Then be a fan, but for the love of God, stop pretending you know how to run a football team. Those aren’t my words-they’re yours. You admitted it. So do the only thing left to do: sell the team. Sell it to Robert Kennedy Jr., the Kardashians, or even Carrot Top for all I care. Just get the hell out of ownership.
    You’ve done nothing but screw over your fans for decades, and we’re done. We’re going to hurt you where it matters-financially. Stop buying jerseys. Stop buying merchandise. Stop showing up. It’s time for someone else to step in and build a Chicago team that can actually compete. Maybe even a whole new team to put you out of business.
    Sell the fucking team. Do it for the fans. Do it for the city. Or don’t-because we’re done with you either way.
    Sincerely,
    An Enraged Bears Fan

      Ryan Poles was hired on January 26, 2022. Ryan Poles hired Matt Eberflus two days later. Here was his quote..."Poles trusted his instincts when he hired Matt Eberflus less than 48 hours after being hired as GM. “The moment he walked into the room, I knew he was the guy” Poles said.....
      Dan Quinn was probably the better choice and it is in the past. Hopefully, Thomas Brown will do well these last 5 weeks and be retained as the head coach for 2025. I also hope DC Eric Washington does well calling defensive plays these last 5 games of the season.

      @@YT-Holdings While I agree that Quinn would have been a better hire (he at least had head coaching experience), I don't think it's fair to act like Eberflus was Poles' hand-picked coach. He was given a short list of potential coaches when it was already midway through the hiring cycle and had to make his decision about 48 hours after giving his final interview for his first ever GM job. Let's not pretend that was a real, exhaustive coaching search. He didn't even get to be a part of the coach hiring process until the final round of interviews. Yes, he spoke highly of Eberflus after they hired him, as you would expect ANYONE to do, but I don't think we can say that Eberflus was Poles' hand-picked coach.

      @@scottschoen8081 - I understand your points. Dan Quinn was the heart of the Cowboys. We now know this from what we are seeing this season, especially on the defensive side. He has made a significant impact on Jayden Daniels and the Commanders when nobody expected them to be in the hunt to win their division. Putting that aside, the Bears may not be looking for any new coaches. If Thomas Brown does a good job handling both the offense and being the head coach, I would be incredibly surprised if they didn't retain him. Why take the time to get the offense and Caleb Williams comfortable and acclimated with Thomas Brown to just let him go at the end of the season for an offensive minded HC? I don't see that happening. Additionally, Eric Washington gets his first opportunity to fully call plays as a DC. He worked under Ron Rivera for 9 seasons as a DL coach and DC. He also worked under Sean McDermott for a number of seasons. He worked with McDermott when he was in Carolina. Eric Washington could end up taking the defense to a completely different level that is more opportunistic and aggressive. I am very much looking forward to seeing how the Bears respond to these coaching changes.

    The looks on the Detroit players faces as the Bears lost was not what one could refer to as 'happiness'. They knew that had the Bears been adequately led by a real coach, they were cannon fodder and would very likely have suffered, not just a defeat, but a crushing blowout. And they know that Caleb was picking them apart as a rookie and will only improve from here on out. With coaching improvements, the Bears could be invincible.

      @YT-Holdings Місяць тому +1

      @@tylerjerabek5204 - The Bears lost out on a clear fumble on Detroit's second possession. Jameson Williams absolutely caught that pass and got three steps down, not just two. Additionally, Swift absolutely was interfered with on a 4th down play that would have given Bears some life in the first half. Cole Kmet had two penalties that cost the offense. Some throws were a little off.
      I wouldn't look at the first half as being indicative as to what the Bears offense can accomplish. Without having to fight against the refs and poor time management, the Bears would probably have at least tied the game, yesterday.

    not because we loss 6 games or more we should have won, but because Thomas Brown will have the rest of the year to prove himself to management either as a OC or OC/ HC or!! We will go into the New NFL year pursuing Ben Johnson or others as a HC/OC or go for a defensive HC, possibly Fangio or Vrabel to be the HC. Or just the DC which could possible be Washinton. ?????

    I disagree when you said Flus wasn't the right coach at the time. He definitely was. He was supposed to be a stop gap coach to get us through a complete tear down of the roster and rebuild and begin building the culture. He should of been fired in the off season to get a real coach to coincide with Caleb being drafted. I was shocked they kept him and makes me worried about Poles and his ability to evaluate a coaching staff because that means he viewed Flus as a long term option and not just as a stop gap coach.

    Who that the Bears have hired in the last dozen years WASN'T the "wrong guy"? They seemingly haven't once hired the right guy for any position. Ryan Poles has made some enormous mistakes himself during his tenure as G.M., and I think he might be gone shortly as well. While we're at it, I'm not sold on Kevin Warren. His job was a new stadium, and so far nothing has been accomplished. By the way...even with our new and improved O.C., the Bears started with three 3-and-outs and scored zero points in the first half of Thursday's game. The offense STILL doesn't look ready at the start of a game. So who do we blame now in this endless Bears blame-a-thon? I'm sure we'll find someone.

      poles has hit homers. that’s what matters. he just has to hit a few more.
      when was the last time the bears even had a GM that hit any home runs?
      we just need to get a coach and have 1 more solid off season. but at least we don’t need a QB, wr, cb.

    I’m not sure why this is soooo hard for folks to grasp. Poles wanted to do a complete rebuild. He needed someone to preside over it .Someone to take the beating. Eberflus was just the mark. He had the cover from ownership on this hiring. If he did well he was set. If he failed Poles had cover. Of course nobody can say that out loud but it’s what it looks like. It’s now all on Poles now. FWIW, David Hough sounds like an ass. To be so close to something and be so ignorant to it is amazing.

      @YT-Holdings Місяць тому +1

      @jojopuppyfish - The Bears needed to make that decision. If Thomas Brown is going to be a possible HC candidate next season, then he needs to prove that this season. DC Eric Washington is now calling defensive plays and I am looking forward to seeing that happen. He has extensive experience working with Ron Rivera and Sean McDermott. The defense is going to be more aggressive. If Thomas Brown doesn't get this opportunity, then he may be hired by another team next season to be their head coach. The Bears can't take that chance if Caleb Williams and the offense wants to continue working with Thomas Brown. If the Bears hire a different offensive coach, then Thomas Brown will leave. The Bears made the best decision. Thomas Brown and Eric Washington have more than a week to prepare for their first game running the team together. It gives the fanbase something to look forward to.
